Chapter Index

In the distance, a colossal figure slowly rose from the sea behind a sinking warship.

It wasn’t until it reached more than 50 meters from the sea surface that it stopped ascending.

Donald watched the behemoth in front of him in terror, holding his breath out of fear, but soon he couldn’t help but gasp for air.

The giant creature before him was silvery-white with an incredibly smooth surface, and its shape resembled that of an ancient dinosaur, with a gigantic head towering in the air in an irregular triangular form.

Its massive jaws suddenly opened wide, revealing rows of frightful, sharp teeth.

Suddenly, the enormous jaws bit down violently on the bow of the Burke-class warship!

“My God, there really are sea behemoths in this world!”

“Dear Lord, it’s bigger than a mountain! How can it be eating our warship?”

“Look at the silver light gleaming all over it. Could it be converting metals into its armor?”

It was only then that Donald realized there were quite a few sailors floating on the surrounding sea surface, clearly not just he had been lucky to be thrown out of the warship.

Sounds of steel being bitten and torn apart, grating to the ear, came from above.

The behemoth tore off the bow of the ship and swallowed it in just a few bites, seemingly not satisfied, it bit at the warship again, tearing it apart.

In the midst of the tearing, a giant claw could be seen slapping the sea surface.

The water collided, stirring up colossal waves, washing away the sailors floating nearby.

At the moment when the giant wave was upon him, Donald saw another immense claw slap down on the aft half of the Burke-class warship.

A thunderous noise erupted, some ammunition exploded.

After the giant wave passed, Donald resurfaced to find that the behemoth had not been harmed by the sacrificial explosion of the ammunition.

However, it seemed to be growing impatient, shredding the wreckage of the warship with a few swipes of its claws and stuffing it into its gaping mouth before swallowing it all.

Donald had no idea how big the creature really was; just the part that emerged above the water was already far larger than the warship, truly resembling a huge mountain.

It was at least fifty to sixty meters tall and the length that emerged above the water was at least a kilometer!

Its two giant frontal claws were long and thick, but flattened somewhat like those of a denizen of the sea, clearly suited for swimming.

As for the head of the behemoth, Donald could not see its eyes; perhaps it was because he was on the surface of the sea, and in comparison to the gargantuan creature, he was far too insignificant.

It was just like being unable to see the scenery from the mountain top while standing at the base of a massive peak.

At this time, some sailors noticed Donald and swam towards him.

“Captain, you’re still alive! That’s so good to hear. What should we do now?”

“I have a pistol here, but it seems useless against that behemoth.”

“Hey, pal, don’t mess with that big guy with your little pistol. If you want to die, don’t drag us down with you.”

“Pity my phone’s waterlogged and useless. Otherwise, I could take a photo of this behemoth, maybe even sell it to a magazine for a nice little profit.”

Suddenly, Donald shouted, “Quiet! Look, the behemoth is doing something new!”

Everyone turned to look at the behemoth.

The sea monster, apparently sated, began to sink slowly back into the sea.

Watching the behemoth sink, Donald suddenly had an ominous feeling and quickly yelled, “Everyone, scatter and swim away fast!”

Upon hearing him, everyone scattered in all directions as Donald also frantically swam; he felt the sea water flowing in the opposite direction, accelerating.

This resistance made swimming difficult but also spurred him to swim more desperately against the current.

If someone were looking from above, they would see the following scene: As the behemoth’s huge maw sank into the sea, the surrounding sea water was accelerating towards the creature’s mouth.

It seems the behemoth was drinking the ocean!

Donald gave it his all to swim faster, and just as he felt he had no strength left and despair was setting in, he suddenly felt the current slow down.

Immediately energized, Donald swam forward with all his might for a few more meters before he had to stop due to exhaustion. He then floated on the surface, letting the current carry him along.

Looking towards the direction of the behemoth from the sea surface, he saw nothing but emptiness; the behemoth had submerged.

Looking around, Donald noticed that very few of the initially surviving sailors were left—counting himself, only six people remained.

Clearly, the accelerating water had carried the survivors into the behemoth’s maw.

The others, realizing Donald’s location, swam over to him.

“Captain, Wood and the rest; they’ve all been eaten by the behemoth!”

“It drank so much sea water; perhaps it helps it digest our warship?”

“Captain, what do we do now? I don’t know if there are any sharks around here.”

“Idiot, with that sea behemoth around, no shark would dare come here!”

“But it seems like the sea behemoth feeds on steel!”

“Who knows whether it treats steel as snacks, and the main course might still be fish, meat…”

“Everyone, does anyone have any emergency lifesaving items on them? Like a signal flare or something?” Donald asked.

The sun had just risen, and they were near the equator, so the sea water temperature was relatively warm, which would allow them to survive longer in the water.

However, with no food and water, their time was limited; they had to find a way to send a distress signal.

Donald’s words made everyone acutely aware of their situation.

“Damn it, I got thrown out of the ship, empty-handed.”

    “Me too.”

“I only have a pistol with 13 rounds; I just don’t know if it will still fire?”

After taking stock, the six people had only one pistol.

In the vast sea, firing a gun didn’t seem like a way to attract attention, as the sound of gunfire only traveled so far.

While the few floated on the sea discussing, no one noticed that in the sky, a kilometer away, a sea hawk was circling.

At the same time, far away at the Tanga Federation base command center, the big screen was displaying the picture of the people.

Du Qiu frowned, stating, “Leave these few people behind; there should be witnesses now to prove the existence of the sea behemoth.”

This sea behemoth was a creation of Du Qiu, modeled after the image of an ancient marine dinosaur, the overlord of the sea, Pliosaur, intended as a weaponry against the U.S. Navy.

It was one of several trump cards Du Qiu prepared as revenge against the Americans.

Once the industrial park was completed and production capabilities were in place, Du Qiu pondered that the strongest U.S. forces were in the air and at sea, especially the Navy with its 12 aircraft carriers allowing the United States to swagger around the world.

Whenever something happened, the U.S. President would ask, “Where are our aircraft carriers?”

So, Du Qiu decided to design the nemesis of naval warships—the Pliosaur!

If it ever came to a clash with the United States, the Pliosaur would surely leave a deep impression on the U.S. Navy.

Of course, this was also a personal hobby of Du Qiu’s. As a martial artist, he loved close combat, and the idea of using the Pliosaur to tear apart and devour U.S. Navy ships delighted him.

The Pliosaur was constructed entirely of silicon-aluminum alloy, its entire body measuring 1600 meters in length and 500 meters in height; the gigantic maw ensured it could take down the bow of a U.S. aircraft carrier in one bite!

The Pliosaur was powered by a revolutionary nuclear reactor, with a colossal garbage processing furnace inside.

All solid substances swallowed, like steel, would be sent there to decompose and be reduced back into raw materials, and the sea water would be discharged through special pipes.

Of course, another reason for constructing the behemoth was to test Du Qiu’s ability to build a space warship.

At that time, energy technology had only advanced to new nuclear fission reactors, which couldn’t provide stronger power, or else Du Qiu would have directly constructed a space warship.

A space warship measuring over a kilometer in length is quite standard, but that already surpassed any ship mankind had ever built.

Building the massive and submersible Pliosaur was a comprehensive application attempt by Du Qiu after digesting and absorbing the manufacturing industry database of a Level 4 alien civilization.

The creation of the Pliosaur was a test of the alien technology that Du Qiu had mastered so far.

Fortunately, the technology was indeed powerful, enabling him to finally complete the construction of this sea behemoth.

Moreover, the construction site was located in a cave in a submarine mountain range on the seabed of the Indian Ocean, which Du Qiu had planned right from the start as an underwater manufacturing factory.

Originally intended for the manufacture of undersea mining and transport robots, it was later expanded appropriately for the Pliosaur.

It was truly a robot world, without any life-support facility, making it inhabitable for humans.

Du Qiu’s choice of that island for the base was to integrate it with the undersea robot base, thereby maximizing access to resources in the Indian Ocean seabed.

With the completion of the island base, combining both would perfectly ensure that Du Qiu’s factories would not worry about being embargoed or sanctioned regarding raw materials.
