Chapter 222: The Omnipotent Master
by xennovelAfter an emergency meeting at the U.S. Presidential residence, Radack hurried into his study, excitedly retrieving a cumbersome computer from a box.
This was a portable computer used by the U.S. Military in earlier years to connect to satellites, originally forming the prototype of a powerful command network system terminal.
As IT technology and satellite capabilities developed, this prototype network fell into disuse, but those satellites remained in orbit, albeit in a dormant state.
Radack powered on the computer, and soon a bright dot flashed in the center of the black screen, rapidly expanding like a cosmic big bang.
After the cinematic sequence, a solitary dialogue box appeared in the center of the screen.
“You’ve arrived. How does it feel to be president?”
A line of text appeared in the upper half of the dialogue box.
Without hesitation, Radack swiftly typed a response.
“Thank you, Master. You truly fulfilled my wish to become president. The feeling is really quite extraordinary; it’s something I’ve always wanted.”
“Since I have fulfilled your wish, it’s time for you to do what you promised. You performed well at today’s meeting.”
When Radack saw the second half of the message, his pupils involuntarily narrowed—today’s highly confidential meeting had not escaped the Master’s watchful eye. Indeed, the Master is omnipresent.
His face instantly showed an expression of careful respect, and his hands quickly typed another message.
“Omnipotent Master, I will do my utmost to fulfill my promise.”
After a moment’s thought, he typed another sentence.
“Omnipotent Master, during today’s meeting, General Curtis and Director-General Caesar were the first to accuse Dream Technology as the hidden mastermind. Was this your doing?”
“That’s not for you to question. You are the president. Just do the president’s job.”
Radack’s forehead broke out in a fine sweat; he didn’t bother to wipe it and rapidly typed another response.
“Omnipotent Master, it wasn’t my intention. I was just thinking that if we all serve the Master, perhaps in the future, we could collaborate more closely.”
“It’s better for you not to entertain such thoughts, or you wouldn’t even know how you died.”
Radack promptly replied, “I won’t, I certainly won’t act rashly. Under the glory of the Master, I will be the greatest president.”
“That won’t be a problem, on the condition that we must eradicate Dream Technology!”
Although Radack didn’t understand why the Omnipotent Master wanted to eliminate Dream Technology, as the U.S. President he was very aware that Dream Technology’s threat to the U.S. now even exceeded that of other major powers.
The mere thought that even the Omnipotent Master needed to use him to eliminate Dream Technology sparked a certain fear towards the company.
He had a faint guess in his mind, but he dared not ask any more reckless questions.
“Omnipotent Master, I will use the full extent of the presidential power to ensure that the United States conducts an all-out assault on Dream Technology.
I believe there’s no country or organization on Blue Star that can withstand the full wrath of the U.S.!”
Radack made a direct promise to the Omnipotent Master, hoping this would surely win over the Master’s favor.
“Good, quickly find where Dream Technology is hiding the supercomputer and destroy it. Even if it requires a nuclear strike, make sure to accomplish this. You have a role to play.”
Radack narrowed his eyes and replied, “Rest assured, Master, I guarantee this task will be completed!”
“Do it well and don’t disappoint me!”
After this message appeared, the dialogue box on the screen suddenly collapsed and vanished, leaving the screen entirely black.
Gazing at the screen, Radack was lost in thought and failed to notice that behind him, on the bookshelf, a small beetle was quietly perched, facing the computer screen.
This Omnipotent Master found him after he joined President Baysan Volbsk’s election campaign team, offering to help him ascend to the presidential throne, nearly making him laugh in disbelief.
From his initial skepticism to the miraculous way the Omnipotent Master helped him rise from a minor member of the campaign team to a core figure, and eventually Baysan Volbsk’s running mate.
After Baysan Volbsk’s successful rise to power, he became the Vice President.
Although it looked like he was second to one, ruling over millions, in reality, the role of the U.S. Vice President was purely ceremonial.
However, Radack reveled in it, striving to improve himself and prepare to run for president in the future.
By this time, he worshipped the Omnipotent Master. He couldn’t conceive that all these coincidences were mere luck that led to his rise as Vice President.
This had to be a miracle!
Only a miracle that the Omnipotent Master could perform!
Therefore, he had great confidence in eventually becoming president, especially with the support of the Omnipotent Master behind him.
Even so, he thought it would be in the next term or the one after that he would successfully run for president.
Unexpectedly, the Omnipotent Master had Baysan Volbsk assassinated, and he automatically became the U.S. President.
The moment he became the acting president, his heart was filled with mixed feelings of joy and fear.
Baysan Volbsk had been killed for his ascent; if he failed to please the Omnipotent Master, would someone else be sent to replace him?
His recent probe confirmed that he indeed received a warning from the Omnipotent Master.
Radack suddenly sighed deeply. Now basking in the glory of the Omnipotent Master, it was too late to stop his advancement.
From now on, he could only follow the Master’s directives and proceed to the bitter end.
The responsibility to use nuclear weapons against a corporate location was a decision he now had to bear as President.
After some thought, he picked up the secure phone on his desk and called GIA Director-General Caesar.
“Your Excellency, what are your orders?” Caesar’s voice came through the receiver.
“Regarding Dream Technology, do you have any intelligence on the whereabouts of their supercomputer?”
Caesar responded, “Not specifically, but deducing from our analysis, aside from the Berlin research center in Germany, only the Miraculous Industrial Park in the Tanga Federation could potentially have the supercomputer.
Comparing the two, it’s more likely to be in the Tanga Federation.”
“Why is that?” Radack inquired.
Caesar explained, “Because Berlin is not entirely powered by its own electricity generation; it’s still connected to the local Berlin power company.
Our calculations show their own generation isn’t sufficient for a supercomputer, yet the local power company’s consumption is very stable.
The usage isn’t small, so we haven’t completely ruled out the possibility here.
However, the situation in the Tanga Federation is different; Dream Technology provides their own power there, and nobody knows how much electricity they use.
Additionally, Dream Technology has significant influence in the Tanga Federation and has already penetrated their government, which makes it likelier for that location to be a base.
Moreover, Dr. Du Qiu has always been in the Tanga Federation, further indicating the supercomputer’s presence there.
Finally, we’ve investigated Berlin’s center staff, and recently some researchers have left Germany with their families, with unknown destinations.
I suspect they might have moved to the Tanga Federation. Hence, I suggest a military strike on the Dream Technology Industrial Park in the Tanga Federation.”
“Good, your analysis is thoroughly competent. I indeed didn’t make an error in recommending you; you’re well-suited as the GIA Director-General.”
“Thank you for the praise, your Excellency. Your subordinate will devote every effort to providing intelligence service and support for you!”
On the other end of the phone, Caesar, gazing at his completely black computer screen, swiftly replied to Radack’s praise, a cold smile touching the corner of his lips.
That computer was exactly like the one in front of Radack.
“Hurry and prepare some information on Dream Technology. I will arrange for Holmes at the United Nations Security Council to disclose the evidence you provide and propose a military attack on Dream Technology,” Radack said calmly.
Holmes was the Secretary of State; it was most appropriate for him to present this matter at the United Nations, just like when they accused Iran of possessing biological weapons.
It’s best if the Security Council approves, but even if not, it won’t stop U.S. military action. Proposing at the Security Council is merely a formality to notify them.
“Your Excellency, such a high-profile approach, wouldn’t it give Dream Technology time to move some personnel or assets?” Caesar immediately cautioned.
He knew all too well that they absolutely could not allow Dream Technology the time to move the supercomputer; if the mission failed, the Omnipotent Master would surely punish him.
“I’ll arrange for the military to take action ahead of time, placing the entire Tanga Federation under strict surveillance.
No plane or ship can leave without our permission, or else they will be shot down or sunk,” Radack stated coldly.
“Understood. I’ll arrange for the Africa Bureau’s action team to enter the Tanga Federation ahead of time and monitor key areas to provide accurate intelligence.”
“We must carry out the military strike openly and with grandeur to serve as a warning. If we attack covertly like before, it will seem inferior,” Radack explained.
He was well aware that what should have been a bonding trip for allies to sanction Dream Technology ended up with an attack on the South Sudan Dream Technology Industrial Park—which only caused the allies to disapprove of the sanctions.
This time, he wouldn’t make such a rudimentary mistake.
Military actions should always serve political objectives; otherwise, it’s a waste of resources and can even spoil important plans.
