An Alien Civilization in My Dreams - Chapter 249: The Technological Miracle: The Vasena Accord Reinvented | Free novels on Xennovel
    Chapter Index

“Sir, the probing operation by the U.S. Military has been repelled, and judging by how the aircraft carrier fleet is hightailing it back east, they seem spooked.”

Du Qiu was in the midst of a meeting with one of the project groups working on quantum computers when he received the update from Star Ocean.

Following the three scenarios extrapolated from the technology downgraded by the alien civilization’s guardians of the dream, Du Qiu had directly split the research into three project groups.

Now, with Group A making the first breakthrough, he was especially delighted and offered further guidance to expedite the project’s development.

As the conflict with the U.S. Military progressed, Star Ocean’s responsibilities grew increasingly demanding, leading to a strain on computational power. This has begun to cause communication issues for the highly realistic robots.

Were it not for Star Ocean’s timely intervention, there may have been incidents of these robots being exposed.

Du Qiu then hastened the development of quantum computers, unwilling to wait for researchers to methodically grasp the theories and advance through gradual practice.

At a minimum, he wanted to ensure one project group completed its task first to remedy the shortage of computational power.

Only with quantum computers more advanced than the existing silicon carbide chip architecture could the artificial intelligence programs operate reliably.

The highly realistic robots could even become less detectable than the current versions.

Having wrapped up the meeting, Du Qiu left the project group after receiving the update from Star Ocean and headed back to the command center.

En route, Du Qiu reviewed the video footage of the U.S. Military’s probing operation. Upon entering the command hall, he said to Star Ocean, “It seems like your surveillance of the U.S. headquarters didn’t catch wind of their intent to probe us. It looks like they’re starting to guard against Lurker II.”

“Yes, ever since the night Radack and the others contacted the head of the consortium, they’ve gone all out to shield against our surveillance. Even Radack’s congressional speech managed to keep Lurker II out,” Star Ocean replied, seemingly irked and unaccustomed to the enemy eluding its watch.

Du Qiu thought for a moment and said, “Enhance the activity of the carbon nanobots at several key locations in the U.S. You’re granted permission to deploy them to monitor specific sites of interest.”

“That’s fantastic! I assure you they won’t be able to scheme behind our backs anymore.”

Hearing Star Ocean’s emotionally charged response, Du Qiu couldn’t help but smile wryly.

Though the United States did not legally declare war on Dream Technology, it persisted in branding it a terrorist organization, clearly not willing to reconcile.

This sparked considerable ire in the international community.

Radack’s visits to two major allies failed to yield the desired results. Not only could he not sway them to his side, but even Britain, which had previously branded Dream Technology as terrorists, had now repealed the decision.

That was because, when Rein Leinar announced his itinerary during his visit to Germania – with stops in Gaul, Britain, India, and beyond – the world took notice.

Japan, seeing this itinerary, dared not move closer to the United States and had already begun to seek China’s help in bringing Rein Leinar to Japan.

The global powers had noticed the USS Calvinson approaching the East African coast under the guise of joint anti-piracy exercises, and many had guessed the U.S. military’s intentions. They watched with bated breath, curious to see how Dream Technology would respond to defend its 1,000-kilometer absolute defense zone.

Even satellites were mobilized for constant surveillance.

However, the satellite imagery merely showed two points of light that then struck U.S. fighter jets, suggesting missiles traveling at Mach 5.

Such high-speed missiles fit the image of Dream Technology’ prowess, but the question of their origin remained. Did Dream Technology possess true stealth technology?

This thought shifted focus to Rein Leinar’s colossal triangular-winged aircraft. If Leinar dared to travel in such a visibly large aircraft, could it be escorted by invisible fighters?

No wonder he seemed unconcerned about potential U.S. misfires or sabotage by armed groups in smaller nations.

When the large aircraft first appeared in Shanghai, it stunned viewers with its vertical takeoff and landing capabilities. After further demonstrations in Moscow and Berlin, the technology became the talk of the town.

As these events unfolded, rumors that Dream Technology was an alien spokesperson and that aliens were using it to communicate with Earth gained traction.

As evidence mounted, the world began to believe, yet the expected rallying of allies around the United States against an alien invasion, as envisaged by Radack, failed to materialize. Instead, nations began siding with Dream Technology after Leinar announced his itinerary.

At this juncture, with the United States still imposing sanctions, Dream Technology issued a retaliatory statement. “In response to the U.S. Government’s crimes against humanity, Dream Technology now declares the following: All products of Dream Technology are prohibited for sale in the United States! Any country, region, organization, or individual engaging in normal dealings with Dream Technology must not bring any purchased products into the U.S. Violators will be subject to sanctions from Dream Technology. Any companies cooperating with Dream Technology must not sell co-developed products to the U.S., and any breach will result in termination of cooperation and inclusion on the sanction list!”

This counter-sanction proclamation sent shockwaves around the world.

It appeared Dream Technology was determined to take a stand against the United States, complicating daily affairs for other nations. Some still hoped for Rein Leinar’s visit, which could lead to cooperation agreements similar to those with China and Rus Country.

However, the declaration by Dream Technology meant that cooperation would likely require joint sanctions against the United States.

Indeed, after two days of negotiations with Germania, Dream Technology’s President Rein Leinar signed a cooperation agreement. Subsequent visits to Gaul (Paris), Britain, India, and other nations followed suit.

News soon broke that this agreement included a list of products banned from sale in the United States, a list that would continue to expand.

Without question, the world was witnessing the birth of the Technological Miracle: The Vasena Accord Reinvented, with the United States as the prohibition target.

History was repeating itself – the United States had long used the Vasena Accord to restrict sales to certain nations, and now it found itself on the receiving end of such measures.

The question arose: would these nations be willing to comply with the ban against the United States?

Alongside this product ban list, a supposed Germanian version of the technology cooperation list was leaked.

The inclusion of new nuclear, solar, and biological technologies, fourth-generation semiconductor technologies, and lunar mining development, among others, sparked boundless imagination.

The moon mining development technology, in particular, stood out. Embodied in these words was a plethora of potential: beginning with travel to the moon from Earth, followed by the need for mass mining machinery and transport ships to return the minerals to Earth – a complex suite of technologies indeed.

For many onlookers, this sparked excitement. Would humanity now develop the moon? Build bases upon it?

The United States Presidency’s spokesperson answered questions on this swiftly, cautioning countries to respect the “Moon Agreement” of the Earth community.

However, a reporter promptly inquired: “But none of the 16 signatories of this agreement have the capability to land on the moon, and signatory nations like Gaul and India have not fully recognized it. Like other spacefaring nations, the United States has not ratified this agreement. Does this mean the United States intends to ratify and sign?”

The spokesperson awkwardly dodged the question, provoking laughter from other journalists.

Clearly, the United States was sour-graping, routinely using international treaties it hadn’t joined to constrain others – reminiscent of when it questioned China’s island-building with maritime law and initiated so-called freedom of navigation operations.

Now, with Dream Technology dispatching two aircraft carrier groups, the U.S. Navy’s power had diminished, unable to conduct such provocations anymore.

    Chapter Summary

Dream Technology counters U.S. sanctions by declaring an embargo against American soil, shaking global alliances and shifting power dynamics. The U.S. fails to rally support against Dream Technology's advanced tech and alien-linked rumors as nations side with the company's technological prowess and promise of moon exploration.
