Chapter Index

“My idea wasn’t realized. After I returned to my country, I was assigned to a trading company. I happened to have a purchasing task, so I came to Magic City,” Kim Zhenan explained.

“Hey, the way your country randomly assigns tasks without considering one’s specialization is seriously exasperating,” Hao Ren commented.

Kim Zhenan replied with a wry smile, “Fortunately, I’m in charge of purchasing some industrial equipment, much of which is still related to physics.”

Rein Leinar slowly said, “What kind of equipment could possibly be unrelated to physics?”

    Everyone couldn’t help but laugh.

Du Qiu decided to give the two a tour of the company. When they learned that Du Qiu and Rein Leinar were leading a team to tackle the ultra-precision CNC machining center, everyone expressed their genuine admiration.

Kim Zhenan suddenly asked, “I wonder if this type of machining center can be exported to my motherland?”

Du Qiu paused and pondered, “Such equipment shouldn’t be on the United Nations’ sanctions list, I reckon. I need to check the relevant regulations.”

“If there are no restrictions, then I hope that once your research here is successful, I can purchase a few units.”

“That’s not a problem. I create these to sell them,” Du Qiu assured him.

Hao Ren said, “When my dad comes to Magic City, I’ll ask him; maybe our Tanga Federation also needs to buy some.”

“Hey, I’m not worried about finding buyers for my products, so don’t think about helping. This equipment isn’t cheap, you know,” Du Qiu said with a laugh.

“Yeah, I expect our equipment to sell well all over the world,” Rein Leinar stated confidently.

The group quickly found themselves in the product showroom, coming across waste disposal equipment and transport carriages. Hao Ren, curious, asked questions left and right.

Kim Zhenan, meanwhile, was browsing through product descriptions. When he got to one page, his gaze suddenly sharpened, and he took a deep breath.

He asked somewhat casually, “This waste disposal equipment—can it really sort anything neatly into useful and harmful/harmless components?”

Du Qiu explained, “Yes, any waste can be pre-treated by the garbage carriage before being processed by the waste disposal equipment, ensuring that useful parts are clearly separated.”

“Oh, that’s really impressive. What’s your current production capacity for this equipment?”

Du Qiu pointed to a workshop that was being modified and said, “Our production line still needs to be recalibrated and this space will undergo dust-free renovation. We estimate that we can go fully operational next month.

Currently, we are only producing a small number of units. Why, you’re not thinking about placing an order, are you?”

Kim Zhenan grinned, “Yes, I really want to place an order. Part of the reason for my visit to Magic City is to purchase waste disposal equipment.”

Rein Leinar patted Kim Zhenan on the shoulder, “Brother, don’t make a hasty purchase just to help us fulfill a duty.”

“You know, in your country, for such matters, there must be very strict penalties, right?” Hao Ren added.

Du Qiu looked at Kim Zhenan, waiting for his explanation.

Kim Zhenan smiled and said, “I truly need to purchase waste disposal equipment. The capital city’s current equipment is too outdated, and waste processing is very inefficient. But the population is growing. We’ve reached an urgent need to address this.”

“Alright, I believe you. As long as it doesn’t cause you trouble, I’ll prioritize your order,” Du Qiu nodded.

“That’s great. Oh, one unit of this equipment can process a hundred tons of waste per day, right?”

“Yes, you did read the information thoroughly,” Du Qiu replied.

“Can you provide me with ten units within the next three days? That way, I can conduct a pilot run in one district of the capital.”

“No problem. Each unit typically requires 3-5 transport carriages to function effectively. How many do you plan to pair them with?”

    “Oh, three will do.”

“Good, let’s go sign the contract. Oh, and do you prefer us to ship via land or sea?”

    “Land would be safer.”

Hao Ren laughed and said, “What, are you worried about the United States Navy intercepting you?”

The group laughed together. Although the United States was imposing comprehensive sanctions against Korelia, they dared not let warships get close to the sea route from Tang Country to Korelia—after all, it was too close to Tang Country.

Once the contract was taken care of, Sun Hongming immediately cheerfully arranged for personnel to organize production.

Du Qiu then took his friends for a meal at a nearby restaurant.

While drinking, Hao Ren suddenly said, “Master Du Qiu, my dad will be in Magic City tomorrow. How about I introduce you to him? Maybe I can convince him to place an order for some of your equipment.”

Du Qiu clinked glasses with Hao Ren, and then said, “Hao Ren, I appreciate your thought. Your dad is the defense minister of your country, so buying my equipment won’t do much, will it?”

“Hao Ren, you don’t need to compete with me. My country genuinely needs these things. Otherwise, I wouldn’t dare to waste such precious foreign currency.”

Kim Zhenan tried to soothe Hao Ren, noticing that he felt unhelpful as Du Qiu’s apprentice and quite uncomfortable about it.

“Batti has the technology to help Du Qiu; you’re in procurement and can also help Du Qiu; meanwhile, I can’t help out with anything,” Hao Ren grumbled as he blew through a bottle of beer.

“Hey, Hao Ren, you’re pretty slick, finding an excuse to drink. Come on, let’s drink one together,” Du Qiu said, patting Hao Ren’s back and calling for a toast.

Indeed, Hao Ren felt that among the group, he should have been the closest to Du Qiu. Yet when Du Qiu started his business venture, Hao Ren found himself unable to be of any assistance.

Back when he was on vacation and roaming around at night, Hao Ren encountered a would-be heroic rescue—only for it to turn unexpectedly.

Although he was tall and muscular, he stood no chance against the numbers and was on the verge of losing not just the fight but potentially his life, when Du Qiu appeared and heroically chased away the hooligans.

Since then, Hao Ren considered Du Qiu his lifesaving benefactor.

When he learned that he and Du Qiu were alumni, he pestered Du Qiu to teach him Sanda, referring to him as master.

However, Du Qiu never saw him as a disciple and only spoke of mutual sparring.

And although every sparring session resulted in Hao Ren getting thoroughly beaten, Rein Leinar and Kim Zhenan always felt that Du Qiu took Hao Ren as a sparring partner.

Nonetheless, Hao Ren himself felt that thanks to the training, he made significant progress in combat sports.

At the very least, his ability to withstand blows definitely stood up to three or five average men. If he confronted those thugs from before, he was certain he could win.

“Master Du Qiu, do I not contribute anything worthy? As an MPA, I can’t seem to help you at all.”

Du Qiu comforted him, “Don’t think like that, Hao Ren. Your moral support is equally important, just like Batti joining my enterprise or Xiao Jin’s procurement of my products.

Soon you will be returning to your country, where you’ll oversee significant projects. Perhaps then you can also purchase my products.

Or maybe when my business expands, and I open a factory in your country, wouldn’t I need the support of a local like you?”

Slamming his hand down on the table, Hao Ren declared, “Master Du Qiu, I’ll remember that! You must open a factory in the Tanga Federation, and I’ll do everything in my power to help you.”

Kim Zhenan raised an eyebrow and teased, “Hao Ren, it seems like Du Qiu opening a factory there would be helping you out, wouldn’t it?”

“Don’t talk nonsense, Xiao Jin. If I really went there, having no idea about anything, wouldn’t I need Hao Ren’s help to open a factory?” Du Qiu shot a glance at Kim Zhenan.

Despite his imposing stature, Hao Ren was known to be kind-hearted and simple. He gave his all to his friends with a sincere heart.

Rein Leinar frowned, “Du, finding enough suitable workers in the Tanga Federation might be difficult.”

“Hey, Batti, do we really need workers?”

    “Are you saying…”
