Chapter Index

    Buzz.

The vehicle screeched to a sudden halt.

With the engine roaring at full power, Yenir and his companions reached their destination in just over twenty minutes.

    “Get out!”

Without a moment’s hesitation, as soon as the door opened—before the hovering car had even stabilized—Yenir leaped from a hundred-meter height.

The roar of the wind filled his ears.

Below, a vast estate, resembling a pyramid, came into view.

Unlike the glass facades of the city, the various pyramidal structures were draped in greenery, evoking the grandeur of Babylonian palaces.

There was no time to ask any questions.

Seeing Yenir jump, the others had no choice but to follow into the depths.

    Thud, thud, thud! Boom!!

The heavy impact left deep dents in the ground before the estate.

At the same time, the estate’s motion sensors detected these uninvited guests. Before an alarm could sound, Yenir flashed into view in front of a massive alloy door with an artistic flair.

    Bang!

A brutal punch shattered the door.

    Clang.

    Sparks of electricity burst forth.

After wrenching the security module from the door with his bare hands, he moved so fast that his hands blurred as he rapidly entered a series of commands.

    Beep beep beep beep.

Within seconds, his commands spread like a virus, and the flashing red alarm lights inexplicably faded to darkness.

    What is this!?

Behind him, his team watched in bewilderment as Yenir worked his magic. Even those who had been ready to subdue the guards were left dumbstruck.

Even if they couldn’t fathom how he did it, they could clearly see that Yenir had hacked the estate’s security system!

While they could understand his earlier control over the hovering car, this move was truly beyond comprehension.

This estate was clearly on high alert. The title ‘Governor’ hinted at multiple layers of defense—far beyond any civilian facility!

Without further explanation, Yenir waved them on as he surged ahead at a breakneck pace.

    “Charge in!”

“Take out all the security guards immediately! Knock them out! Avoid killing if possible—we need to keep appearances.”

“Don’t worry about them contacting the outside—I’ve cut off their communications!”

After that, Yenir stormed into the estate, racing straight for the innermost building. The furious wind from his sprint sent nearby greenery swaying wildly.

Without time to deliberate, Ming Luo and the others hurriedly followed.

    “Intruders!”

    “Who are they!”

Within seconds, even with the security system compromised, the patrolling guards inside the estate were startled by the intruders.

Instinctively, they raised their weapons, but as mere humans, they stood no chance against a Third-Stage Awakened!

    “Attack!”

    Without a moment’s hesitation.

Ming Luo took a deep breath and charged out. With a precise move, his nine comrades burst forth like enraged dogs, closing in on the security team in the blink of an eye.

    Footsteps pounded continuously.

Squads of soldiers, racing out in haste, stared in disbelief as the monstrous intruders charged in. In an instant, a crushing battle erupted.

    ……….

    Three minutes later.

Inside a lavish hall, Yenir sat calmly in a red velvet chair.

Opposite him sat a rotund, blond Caucasian.

    “Pleased to meet you, Governor.”

“For now, all you need to do is cooperate with me.”

“As long as you comply, we won’t harm you.”

Fiddling with the short dagger in his hand, Yenir smiled gently at the trembling governor.

But in the governor’s eyes, that smile was as twisted as that of a deranged kidnapper.

    Pleased to meet me!?

The governor swallowed hard, his eyes darting fearfully over the unconscious guards sprawled on the floor, his mind a jumble of panic.

It was terrifying! These humans moved with unbelievable speed—over forty guards in his estate were taken down in mere seconds.

Not only that, but all communications had been cut off!

Who are these people!? Are they genetically enhanced warriors from some secret organization? Even the Federation’s most formidable augmenters couldn’t pull off something like this!

“Who are you, and why are you capturing me!”

“Don’t kill me! If you kill me, the Federation will surely hunt you down!!”

“I’ll give you whatever you want!”

    In utter desperation.

Unlike his lofty composure outside, the governor began pleading wildly. Seated as he was, he had no desire to die!

    “Who are we?”

Yenir responded with a cool smile, effortlessly levitating the necklace from the governor’s neck.

“We are from the future—travelers from ten years ahead in this world.”

“Our mission is to avert a crisis in this world, so rest assured, we mean you no harm.”

“Look, we haven’t killed a single soul.”

After casually inventing an excuse, Yenir didn’t care how clumsy it was—he never intended to convince them. In the end, fists would do the talking.

    The future!? A crisis!?

The governor stared in terror at the floating necklace before him, his expression one of sheer horror.

Such power was beyond his wildest dreams!

Before he could speak another word, Yenir’s smile vanished:

“Our mission is simple—we need you to mobilize all your armed forces and activate every available surveillance system within two hours to locate a specific group of people.”

“They, like us, are time travelers—but their goal is the exact opposite. They are here to destroy the world.”

“Mobilize your troops and eliminate them!”

    He uttered the order coldly.

The bound governor listened in disbelief to Yenir’s words, finding the whole ordeal utterly absurd.

Time travelers here to save the world, and others here to destroy it!? Is this some kind of movie?!

If it weren’t for the searing pain of the ropes binding him, he might have thought he was dreaming.

    Mobilize all your armed forces!?

    “Impossible!”

“I can’t mobilize that many troops! And how do I know you’re telling the truth!”

    “This is too…”

He instinctively questioned, willing to believe these people were genetically enhanced warriors from a mysterious force rather than accept such absurdity.

Noticing that the rotund man still hadn’t grasped his predicament, Yenir sneered coldly. In a flash, his dagger pressed against the governor’s eyeball.

    “You have no choice.”

“Either mobilize your troops now or I’ll kill you right here!”

“Of course. Our future records reveal something rather interesting.”

“Governor, I’m sure you don’t want your corruption records made public, do you?”

    “Bang!”

With a swift gesture and a surge of mental power, Yenir disassembled a data panel from the hall and rapidly punched in codes.

Within seconds, a barrage of data entries exploded onto the screen.

“Our future records show that Governor Sean Bradley of Zijing Province embezzled a total of 3.9 billion Credit Points. Not only that, you ordered four assassination attempts against political rivals—one of whom was even a Federation envoy.”

Turning the panel toward the rotund man, Yenir smirked:

“If this goes public, you’re as good as dead.”

“Oh, by the way—I recall you have a beautiful daughter, a renowned beauty in the province. According to our records, she’s at another estate, right?”

“Governor, you wouldn’t want me to capture your daughter, would you?”

    His face turned ashen.

Sean Bradley’s chubby face trembled as fear surged through him.

This young man—he actually breached the mainframe’s firewall and accessed his records!

Listening to Yenir’s threats sent a chill down his spine.

This manner was no heroic style—it was pure villainy!
