Chapter Index

    “Yenir!?”

“Are you out of your mind?! How could one of us be a traitor?!”

Ming Luo instinctively spoke up, his face contorting into an expression of shock.

His incredulous gaze swept over everyone as he urgently declared:

“I guarantee every member of our squad was with me! We all acted together!”

It was no wonder he instinctively refused to believe there was a traitor among them.

Even though Yenir had mentioned it earlier, he had assumed it was an internal issue within the Military rather than within his own team.

Every member present had undergone rigorous political scrutiny.

They had faced life and death together; not one of them had ever shown even a hint of abnormality! He truly regarded these comrades as brothers.

    “I maintain that it exists.”

“Just now, I heard an Awakener in the Japanese Battle Zone mention one of my abilities.”

“And don’t forget—they surrounded and nearly slaughtered me!”

Yenir’s tone turned eerily calm as he met Ming Luo’s gaze squarely.

Right now, he couldn’t trust anyone. In theory, Ming Luo was the least likely to be the problem, his emotions the most genuine.

    But who could tell?

    His expression froze abruptly.

Yenir’s reminder instantly brought that earlier scene back to Ming Luo’s mind.

That’s right—only someone who had confirmed Yenir’s identity would act so strangely. A six-man ambush clearly indicated they knew exactly whose threat was greatest!

Feeling icy cold all over, Ming Luo shuddered as he looked around skeptically at his teammates.

Before he could utter another word, Yenir spoke again:

“Ming Luo, I know what you’re about to say.”

“It’s not unbelievable that you know my name and identity; many high-ups knew me despite my blurred features at the commendation ceremony. A traitor isn’t necessarily in our squad.”

“But if they know the effects of my skills, then they must have witnessed the Death Duel.”

“We tried to approach stealthily, yet we were instantly discovered.”

“I wondered then—how did they know we were sneaking up?”

“It now seems clear the traitor must be one of our own.”

“Besides, our communication range is extremely limited…”

“He never contacted us beforehand, which is how he managed to keep such a low profile.”

Yenir’s eyes flashed as he grabbed Dong Fengye by the head, applying slight pressure.

The short communication range had been a crucial clue.

When the Japanese and Huaxia Battle Zones entered the fray, they were clearly unprepared and clueless about our plan. This indicates they weren’t using system communications.

“The traitor you arranged for us must be a seasoned veteran, right? With Huaxia Battle Zone suffering repeated losses, it’s likely his doing!”

    “Let me think…”

“To hide so well, aside from only revealing information during crucial moments, your message transmission methods must be extremely discreet…”

“Using gadgets would have given him away. So it could only be skills or spirit energy…”

Yenir sneered coldly, his gaze now fixed on the more experienced squad members.

“Short-range communications help conceal one’s identity.”

“During combat, you must also act—never letting him expose his true nature…”

“So that person must be from a long-distance branch…”

With every deduction from Yenir, Dong Fengye’s complexion noticeably shifted.

Even in excruciating pain, his silence betrayed a flash of resolve in his eyes.

They had utterly failed this time! But Yenir’s message had to be relayed! That kid must be killed, or else once Yenir matures, the balance in the Huaxia Battle Zone and surrounding nations would instantly reverse!

We must secure our internal line! Only by keeping our insider alive can we hope to pass on this message.

    “Enough guessing!”

    “I’m not saying a word!”

“Chinese pigs! If you’ve got the guts, kill me!”

Dong Fengye shut his eyes tight, not daring to reveal any emotion as he began to curse furiously.

In that moment, he only cursed his teammates for their feeble attack that didn’t finish him off immediately!

Now, with his spirit energy exhausted, even a self-destruct was impossible! Damned! He should have fled or self-destructed instead of wasting his spirit energy!

    “Want to die?!”

Yenir sneered as a dagger shot out from his Space Ring, slowly landing in his hand.

In an instant, a chilling white light flashed as the dagger precisely sliced a patch of Dong Fengye’s scalp.

“Don’t worry, I’ll find out who the traitor is.”

    His wrist remained steady.

With hardly any emotion left, a series of piercing, agonized screams filled the air as chunks of flesh were cleanly cut from Dong Fengye’s body like fragile cicada wings.

    …….

    Ten minutes later.

Yenir bowed his head in contemplation, the overpowering stench of blood nearly suffocating him.

On the ground, a man who looked like a skull made of White Bone lay completely still.

Even the little bit of flesh still clinging to his face bore an expression of extreme malevolence.

From his barely moving lips, it seemed as if he was continuously uttering curses.

“Yenir… you’re going to die… you absolutely will die!”

“You’ll never discover… who he belongs to!!”

“Once you leave, death is all that awaits you!!”

    Bang!

Yenir’s expression remained calm as he exhaled quietly and kicked the head of his foe to pieces.

It must be admitted, despite being an enemy, in some ways he admired Dong Fengye’s willpower.

After enduring 3,600 knife strikes, Dong Fengye had not provided any useful intelligence.

    So, who is the traitor?

Lifting his head, Yenir’s eyes turned cold as he began to scrutinize his squad, gradually narrowing his gaze on a few members.
