Chapter 252: Time Travelers and the Looming Apocalypse
by xennovelAn hour later.
The special plane pierced through a thick layer of clouds.
In a sprawling, vibrant city where lights shimmered everywhere, a cluster of pyramid-like structures was dominated by a thousand-meter-tall ecological skyscraper.
This was Federation Central – the core of ultimate power in the entire replica world.
After more than seventy fighter jets had ‘escorted’ its landing,
under the watchful eyes of thousands of officials, Yenir nonchalantly stepped out, tilting his head in quiet indifference as he regarded the President coming to greet them.
“Why are you just staring? Don’t you know to come in and speak?”
“Is everyone here? If not, hurry up—I’m on a tight schedule.”
Yenir’s blunt, almost commanding tone left hundreds of high-ranking officials momentarily stunned, a flash of anger crossing many faces.
What an arrogant tone!
Who did they think they were? They were the Federation’s top brass—the rulers of billions!
They had all wondered what the other side hoped to discuss and imagined a meeting of great solemnity.
In their minds, the conversation would be conducted with measured decorum and gravity.
But no one expected Yenir to bark at them so carelessly, like some street punk.
Suppressing his inner outrage, Bayen, who had rehearsed his lines, wore a sullen expression as he led Yenir and the group into the building.
At the same time, fully armed soldiers donned in individual combat mech suits watched Yenir with keen vigilance.
Even though intelligence had reported that the enemy’s power had reached non-human levels,
they doubted they could truly protect the President…
………………..
The enormous conference room was instantly filled to capacity as Yenir, along with the high-ranking officials, made their entrance.
The stakes of the discussion sent shockwaves through the Federation, plunging it into panic amid uncertainty over the other side’s motives. Without the Military’s urgent ‘rumor control’, chaos would have erupted long ago.
Yet the news was hard to contain. Many citizens had already learned that their city had been targeted by a nuclear bomb just an hour ago!
“What exactly is your objective?!”
“Who the hell are you?!”
The same question echoed again.
Seated now, Bayen fixed a grave stare on Yenir. He never imagined he’d one day face such a bizarre scenario.
Across the table, Yenir scanned the room, confirming the presence of every high-ranking official.
After a moment’s pause, his previously lazy expression turned serious as he began:
“We are time travelers from the future.”
“In a year’s time, the entire world will be ravaged by disaster, descending into apocalypse.”
“Across the Federation, legions of zombies and mutants will arise, claiming countless human lives while the Federation government gradually crumbles within four years.”
“In the final months of the fourth year of the apocalypse, humanity, desperate to fend off these monstrous beings, will have no choice but to initiate a last-resort nuclear war!”
“Over two thousand nuclear warheads will detonate on the surface, reducing our civilization to rubble!”
“Nuclear winter! Deadly radiation blanketing the land! Mutants! Monsters! Mutated humans!”
“In the face of such catastrophe, we are powerless to stop it!”
“That’s why, in the sixth year, with the Military’s final efforts, we developed a time machine and journeyed back to the present!”
Without a trace of emotion, Yenir casually fabricated these details as he stared fixedly at the open-mouthed President, then suddenly banged his fist on the table:
“As you can see! We are time travelers who wield supernatural power!”
“We’re here to save the world!”
The moment his words faded, the conference room was plunged into eerie silence, disbelief written on every face.
Holy shit!?
What did they just hear!?
…….
One minute later.
Amid the stunned gazes of officials slowly regaining composure, Bayen’s expression wavered between inner turmoil and something almost uncanny.
This notorious terrorist—notorious for triggering nuclear explosions, decimating troops, and even kicking a general into oblivion while brandishing nuclear warheads—now had the audacity to claim he was here to save the world!?
Such an absurd storyline. Believing it would make anyone a total idiot.
Even the boldest screenwriter wouldn’t dare script a tale like this!
Yet, he couldn’t explain who Yenir and his people really were, nor how they had come by the key or that unbelievable supernatural power.
According to Yenir, the key had been revealed to him by the Military.
Oddly enough, that was the only explanation that made any sense!
“Are you saying… that soon, monstrous creatures will appear within the Federation?! Creatures that devour humans?! And that humans will gradually develop supernatural powers just like yours?!”
“You traveled back to prevent this disaster?!”
The President wrestled with Yenir’s declaration, his eyes reflecting deep skepticism that he couldn’t quite overcome.
“What evidence do you have?!”
“If you’re truly here to save us, why resort to such drastic measures?!”
Staring intently at Yenir, the other high-ranking officials exchanged grim looks.
Yenir’s demeanor was far from that of a benevolent hero.
If they were to accept his tale, they might as well decide that Yenir was a villain—a time traveler who had returned to poison them! Damn it, did your so-called savior come just to kill them!?
Facing the Federation’s deep distrust, Yenir had anticipated such a reaction. He pulled a tablet from his Space Ring and immediately played footage showing the Military battling mutants.
After all, people from both worlds looked alike, so he wasn’t afraid of exposure.
“Do you see it?”
“This is our recorded battle against the monsters.”
“Take it back for analysis and verify its authenticity.”
With that, Yenir calmly awaited their response.
Ten minutes later, after watching a series of apocalyptic recordings and witnessing the terrifying prowess of mutants, every official’s face turned ashen.
It was all too real—even without technical verification, the immersive footage instilled a deep sense of dread.
It was impossible to imagine how horrifying it would be if such monsters actually appeared.
Instinctively, they looked up at Yenir.
Bayen took a deep breath, striving to maintain his composure.
“Honorable Time Traveler, I concede that your evidence is compelling,” he said.
“But how can I trust that you’re truly here to help us?!”
Listening to the President’s blatant skepticism, Yenir remained unfazed. It was only natural that they were cautious—anyone with half a mind would be unwilling to fully cooperate, likely scheming to take him down.
After all, in comparison to a potential apocalypse, he seemed more like the disaster itself.
Yet Yenir had no intention of providing further explanations.
He simply nodded as if unconcerned by their doubts:
“I know it’s hard to believe an apocalypse is looming and even harder to accept my identity.”
“But…”
Yenir casually pulled out an electronic display from his Space Ring, his fingers swiftly pressing a termination command. Then, with a sincere, dazzling smile, he added:
“But I really can blow you all to pieces.”
“No apocalypse—I’m the apocalypse.”
