Chapter Index

    Boom!!

A bright blue tail flame burst forth as the sleek, silver fighter jet sliced through the clouds like a razor-sharp sword.

The smooth alloy body gleamed with dazzling white light.

With each explosive burst of acceleration, the fighter surged at maximum speed toward the East Sea Safe Zone.

Inside the cockpit, the team members stared in confusion as Yenir bent over to study the map.

Up to this point, none of them had any idea what their mission was.

Especially watching Yenir incessantly sending messages—as if he were in constant contact with someone. And it looked like there were a lot of people involved…

    “Yenir?”

“Are we heading to the East Sea Safe Zone?”

“If we keep accelerating without notifying anyone, we’ll be too easy a target for the air defense system.”

Ming Luo instinctively glanced toward the horizon below.

The fighter jet skimmed over abandoned city outskirts before hurtling straight for the emerging new safe zone—East Sea Safe Zone. The distance was dangerously close to enemy air defenses.

As Huaguo’s tactical asset, each takeoff and maneuver of the Spiritual Energy Fighter had to be reported. Charging in recklessly could easily mark them as hostiles.

In the distance, the safe zone thrived, with six satellite cities encircling the main city like petals around a bloom.

“The report has been sent—no need to worry.”

“We’re definitely heading to the East Sea. In case of emergency, be ready to act!”

Yenir looked up and explained calmly.

Yet his tone carried a subtle edge of resolve.

He offered little more explanation—his team either trusted him or remained silent; either way, he bore no hard feelings.

To be honest, he wasn’t sure what was coming next but had already prepared for the worst.

Seeing that Liang Lie had replied to his messages, his heart lightened just a bit.

If it came down to a final stand and conflict erupted…

With Liang Lie aboard, no one could stand in his way!

An almost peak Third-Stage powerhouse is enough to crush the entire East Sea Safe Zone! That is, if Liang Lie truly provides the unconditional protection he claims!

Listening to Yenir’s tone, Ming Luo felt a sudden pang of unease.

After spending so much time together in simulations, he knew just how reckless Yenir could be…

What on earth is going on? Has someone in the East Sea Safe Zone provoked him?

    It can’t be…

With questions swirling in his mind, the fighter began to decelerate gradually.

Meanwhile, inside the cockpit, a warrior’s deep voice signaled that they had reached the drop zone.

“Yenir, we’ve entered East Sea airspace!”

“Right now, two fighter jets are tailing us. It seems they’ve locked onto our position…”

Worry was etched on their faces.

If Yenir had properly filed the report, there would have been no issue—never mind a tail chase. But with an East Sea fighter suddenly flying alongside, the Awakener piloting the jet sensed that something was off.

Standing up, Yenir, expressionless, peered through the cockpit window at the two jets flying in formation beside them.

After a moment, he let out a cold laugh, completely unfazed.

    Hmph.

The report had been filed—naturally, Fang Teng, the safe zone’s commander, would be aware of his arrival!

This display was nothing more than a warning—a reminder not to cause any trouble!

    No matter!

Trouble? That all depends on what Yenir ultimately discovers!

    …………….

East Sea Air Force Base, Runway.

With their arms crossed, four middle-aged men silently looked skyward; one of them fixed his gaze intently on the descending fighter.

“Commissioner Fang Teng, did Yenir mention why he’s here?”

Clad in a trench coat, a kindly Committee representative asked softly.

He could tell Fang Teng was in a sour mood.

    “He didn’t say a word!”

“But this kid is most likely here to stir up trouble!”

Without using any title for Yenir, Fang Teng—who had already burned bridges with him—had no need to mince words. After their last meeting, everyone knew Yenir had publicly shamed him! Even the well-informed knew his wife, Wanrou, had been deeply humiliated by the kid!

    “Stir up trouble?”

“What, does he doubt our findings? Won’t let it drop easily, I suppose?”

    His face turned grim.

The three Committee representatives exchanged uneasy glances, their brows knitting together in an instant.

In his remarks, Fang Teng managed to pull them into his camp—though it wasn’t ideal, it would do.

Truthfully, when they came to investigate, they worked with utmost diligence! After all, the disaster Yenir warned about was too massive to allow any sloppiness!

Yet, after thorough checks, there was no key evidence suggesting an imminent catastrophe.

Some of the equipment anomalies were simply tied to a highly classified project.

Overall, Fang Teng was being unfairly blamed.

    Yenir was overreacting.

“You youths are always so full of confidence.”

“Forget it. Let him investigate. The three of us, along with Commissioner Fang Teng, have nothing to hide—when he’s done, he’ll have no choice but to eat his words.”

“By then, he’ll realize just how absurd his evacuation plan truly is.”

With a hint of exasperation toward Yenir, the three representatives exchanged light chuckles, seemingly indifferent.

If it hadn’t been for Yenir, they wouldn’t have had to make this trip.

It was Yenir’s audacity, banking on his so-called potential, that forced the Prime Minister and others to agree to an investigation. In hindsight, it was downright laughable…

An eighteen-year-old kid who’d never even been to the East Sea, yet based solely on documents, he could trigger an alert. How is it that so many military researchers missed this? Are they all that inept?

Noticing the growing displeasure among the three representatives, Fang Teng smirked darkly and spoke in a sinister tone:

“Representatives, when Yenir shows up, make sure you back me up!”

“This kid is just loafing around to get attention!”

“I’m just worried that if he finds no issues, he’ll stubbornly deny them! After all, a minor commander like me pales in comparison to him—and I’d be forced to rely on you three!”

Listening to Fang Teng’s spiel, the three men understood he was roping them in.

    But it didn’t matter.

Although they were reluctant to offend Yenir, they couldn’t allow him to act recklessly. If Yenir withdrew the personnel and they failed to stop him, the blame would fall squarely on them!

    “No problem, Commissioner Fang.”

“You can drop the ‘minor commander’ title. Everyone knows that in the East Sea Battle Zone, you hold both military and political reins…”

Flattery aside, before the friendly Committee representative could add another word, a sudden roar of decelerating engines filled the air.

Under the escort of two fighter jets, Yenir’s fighter had already landed.

No sooner had it come to a halt than a youth strode out of the cockpit.

His powerful, confident stride stirred the air like a gust of wind.

And who was that? It was Yenir himself.
