Chapter Index

“Useless! A bunch of worthless idiots!”

Inside the private lounge, smoke curled in the air.

Lu Tianming impatiently smoked as his anger boiled over; with a swift motion he swept the ashtray off the table onto the floor.

    “Goddamn idiots!”

“I told you—wait until that kid lands before you make a move! Get him under control first! I warned you, nothing good comes after!”

“All this whining and empty talk! Now that something’s happened, they’re all gonna pin it on me!”

His chest heaved rapidly as Lu Tianming glared at the incoming desperate messages, clenching his fists and erupting in curses.

If he could, he wouldn’t give a damn about anything right now!

Faced with the seething Committee Member Lu, several subordinates bowed their heads, too afraid to speak up.

They knew his outburst was nothing more than venting; it wasn’t so simple.

“Committee Member, what do we do now?”

“That kid already injured the representative of the Dongqing Battle Zone and just a few minutes ago broke into Wang Chu’s home. I’m afraid…”

A sudden chill of panic gripped them.

Working under Lu Tianming, they could tell even with the barest thought that Yenir was undoubtedly on a rampage right now. They feared this mess would soon come back to haunt them.

Honestly, the moment they heard the system announcement, they nearly fainted.

Being as shrewd as they are, they knew exactly what another escalation of disaster meant.

Their whole plan was derailed—this kid had somehow turned the tide against all odds!

    “What choice do we have!?”

    “Just wait!”

“Wait until we get word from the East Sea! Wait until things settle there!”

“This kid’s been unbelievably lucky! I’m starting to wonder if our fabricated stories are actually true! This monster was brought here by that little bastard! How else could it be such a coincidence!?”

    They were equally baffled.

Irritated, Lu Tianming tugged at his collar, feeling that the situation was becoming unbearably complicated.

Anyone with eyes could see that whether it was the Military or the Authorities, everyone’s attention was fixed on the East Sea! No matter how much chaos Yenir stirred up, they merely let him vent—as if we were all expendable pawns.

After all, even those at the top are human, and they know they’ve made mistakes.

The higher-ups didn’t want to take the blame, so they left it to their underlings. When you pick up a gun, you must be ready for the consequences.

Sinking heavily into the sofa, Lu Tianming battled to suppress his irritation, his eyes flickering with determination.

He could afford to let Yenir run wild, but only to a point.

At the very least, he couldn’t stand by idly.

Wang Chu was calling for help—if he didn’t act fast, there would be no time to save him. Judging by Yenir’s actions, it was clear he was gearing up to cause even more trouble.

If they did nothing, who in the future would dare work with Lu Tianming? Out there, rumors would spread that Lu Tianming was scared of Yenir!

Especially since he even suspected that Yenir was deliberately provoking him!

“We have only one way to stop that kid: find out if Fang Teng is dead!”

After a moment of intense thought, a stern glint flashed in Lu Tianming’s eyes.

“No! We don’t need to confirm it—Fang Teng is almost certainly dead!”

“The East Sea has been bombed! There’s not even a word about Fang Teng; he could have been eliminated long ago!”

“Sure, losing a bunch of low-ranking officials gives Yenir an excuse to call it an accidental strike, and the Military might turn a blind eye. But if Fang Teng is dead, the stakes are entirely different!”

    “Committee Member Fang is dead!?”

The moment the words fell, several subordinates in the room froze, too shocked to let the thought fully form.

“Committee Member Lu, that kid wouldn’t dare target Committee Member Fang, would he?”

“Back then, before the second beast tide erupted, no matter how crazy he got, he wouldn’t have gone that far, right?”

They understood exactly what Lu Tianming was saying.

The only solution was to report to the Military that Fang Teng was dead. The death of a Committee Member was a major matter. No matter how much the Military pretended not to notice, they couldn’t allow Yenir’s rampage to continue. Sure, there might not be severe repercussions for Yenir later, but at least his arrogance would be checked.

“Never mind whether he’s dead—we just say he was found dead…”

Before he could finish his sentence, rapid footsteps pounded from outside the door.

A subordinate, clearly just receiving the news, burst in with terror on his face:

“Committee Member Lu! Wang Chu is dead! His body has been found!”

“Yenir just arrested a bunch more of us! He’s heading in our direction!”

    “What!?”

Lu Tianming sprang to his feet, his expression turning to pure disbelief as his mouth hung open.

He’d never imagined that Yenir’s madness would far exceed their expectations! They thought Yenir would at most teach Wang Hong a lesson, but he actually killed him! It seemed this kid was indeed capable of killing Fang Teng!

In just a few minutes, he’d already lost more than half his men—it was all clearly premeditated!

His face changed color again and again.

Taking a deep breath, Lu Tianming realized that this was a complete and total provocation.

He urgently ordered, “Notify the Military immediately! Tell them Yenir has gone mad—killing committee members and representatives, and now he’s looking to kill more!”

“At this rate, what honor will the Military have left?”

“Get them to intercept Yenir right away! I’m off to see the old commander!”

After quickly issuing orders, an uneasy tremor passed through Lu Tianming. A heavy aura of murderous intent filled him. He couldn’t back down now.

This kid was nothing more than a lunatic. If he wanted to bring down Yenir, his usual strategies were no longer an option.

The only way to stop Yenir now was to confront the commander directly!

He had to remind the higher-ups of the terror that man could inspire!

    ………………

Outside the residential area for Committee Members of Unit 2.

A large group of fully-armed Awakeners hurriedly blocked the roads. A general rushing from the Military Department, both shocked and furious, glared at the dozen or so officials behind Yenir whose limbs had been crushed.

Without exception—from high-ranking representatives to clerks, anyone who had dared oppose Yenir was now in custody.

Especially since Yenir had even crossed the Capital, arresting people right in front of millions of survivors!

Such actions were tantamount to slapping the Military in the face!

    “Yenir! Enough is enough!”

    “You’ve gone too far!”

“The Military knows you’re dissatisfied, but what are you doing—treating our laws and military protocols like trash?!”

“The Frontline is already in chaos! Do you think we need more trouble?”

The general’s voice seethed with anger.

The leading general berated him repeatedly. After learning that Yenir had even killed someone in the Capital, he couldn’t believe anyone had the audacity to act so boldly!

In his eyes, the Military’s earlier mistakes had already forced them to make enormous concessions by allowing Yenir some leeway.

They were supposed to stand down once things calmed down—after all, wouldn’t the Authorities eventually hold Yenir accountable?

But acting this way was like treating them as if they were nothing!

    “Trouble?”

    “More trouble?”

    He remained impassive.

Yenir let out a light laugh, his gaze cutting straight across the assembled troops as he coldly stared in the direction of Lu Tianming.

He knew full well that his actions would never be accepted by the Military.

But that was exactly what he wanted.

He needed everyone to understand: if you mess with Yenir, even someone as mighty as a king wouldn’t be safe—he’d kill them! If he couldn’t eliminate all his foes in one go, then his subsequent plans would be doomed from the start.

Now that he had exposed his sub-level privileges, he intended to maximize his own benefits.

    Let chaos reign!

From this moment on, Yenir’s goal was to shock the Capital and plunge the Military Region into turmoil!

    Without hesitation.

In the next instant, Yenir leapt into the air, swiftly unsheathing the Elemental Blade. With a burst of raging flames erupting from the blade, a Fire Dragon smashed brutally into the villa district where Lu Tianming resided.

“Old dog Tianming! Come out and face me!”

A fierce shout rang out across the entire Capital.
