Chapter Index

    Boom!!

With one sword slash, a Fire Dragon shot out like a missile, triggering a tremendous explosion. Beneath the towering flames, dozens of soldiers on the ground stared in disbelief at Yenir. Even the high-ranking Military officers leading them were dumbfounded, stood frozen in place.

They had come to stop Yenir, but with Yenir completely disregarding conventional tactics, they were all utterly shocked in an instant!

That single slash had reduced Committee Member Lu’s residence to nothing but rubble!

    The entire scene was jaw-dropping.

Even though dawn was nearing and the city’s survivors still slumbered, Yenir’s spectacular display managed to jolt the entire Capital defense ring awake. Mid- to low-level officials, clueless about what had just occurred, looked toward the explosion in terror.

    What on earth just happened!?

    Has the Capital been attacked!?

A few officials, well acquainted with high-ranking committee members, were left in utter disbelief.

    What did they hear!?

Someone had stormed into the Capital Core and even dared to challenge Committee Member Lu—such a horrifying sight made them question if they had misheard.

Meanwhile, Lu Tianming, en route to the former Chief’s residence, suddenly came to a halt. His already sour expression turned even more ghastly.

In a fit of rage, he felt as if his lungs were about to burst from anger—nearly spitting a mouthful of blood.

    That old dog Tianming!?

“This is too much! Simply too much!”

“I’m going to kill that little brat!!”

In an instant, Lu Tianming—one of the top military figures among the committee—turned like an enraged beast. No matter how calculating he usually was, he could no longer tolerate such an insult!

How dare he be so brazen!?

That little bastard had the nerve to use his psychic power to broadcast his insults in front of the entire city’s survivors! If Lu Tianming were to let this slide, he’d end up being a laughingstock!

After all, he was the Second Army’s Chief of Staff as well as an Executive Committee Member—his honor simply could not be tarnished like this!

    “Committee Member Lu! Control yourself!!!”

Seeing Lu Tianming boiling with rage and poised to retaliate, several subordinates trailing behind him began to look alarmed.

“Committee Member, that kid is provoking you on purpose!!”

“If you go after him now, his companion will definitely strike back!”

Blocking Lu Tianming firmly, they maintained a semblance of rationality despite the shock from Yenir’s unbridled ferocity.

What use was it to retreat now? That kid was shielded by Liang Lie—unless top-tier officials stepped in against Yenir, anyone else making a move would be inviting death!

They all knew that at the airport, Liang Lie had obliterated those representatives with a single punch! Even though Committee Member Lu’s strength paled in comparison to those representatives, none could match Liang Lie!

His chest heaved as his anger surged.

Cornered and fuming, Lu Tianming’s expression shifted repeatedly. After several seconds, he clenched his fists tightly and stared at the towering flames in the distance.

Damn it—this was his turf! Though it wasn’t his residence, it still meant pride!

Regaining his composure, he realized his subordinates were right.

The situation had completely reversed—there was no further reason to target Yenir. And that kid was acting completely out of line! In a normal political clash, no one would personally go after someone. Even if they had planned to capture Yenir at the airport, it was only because his identity had slipped away from them!

    But now? Everything had changed!

Unless Lu Tianming stooped to Yenir’s level and shamelessly disregarded decorum, retreating would only mean more humiliation—and maybe even a beating!

“I will kill him! I absolutely must kill him!”

His words crawled out like venom as Lu Tianming’s face twisted, his heart set on retribution.

“Let’s go! Once I meet the old chief, I’ll make sure he disappears without a trace!”

    …………….

    Boom!!

“Lu Tianming, get out here now!”

    Another sword slash.

Ignoring the crowd’s stunned silence, Yenir remained emotionless and, right before everyone’s eyes, cleaved out another flame-dragon. As he noticed that this rest area was nearly wiped out and Lu Tianming was nowhere to be seen, Yenir couldn’t help but snicker coldly, suspecting that his opponent had already fled.

Got the guts to jump out and target him but not enough to show your face?

There was no way he would let his opponent off the hook.

Yenir was well aware that Fang Teng and Wang Hong had already been dealt with—now the only threat left was Lu Tianming. Only by taking advantage of the Sea Beast incident could he have a chance at taking his enemy down!

Once the Military reacted, no matter how much Yenir pretended to be ‘crazy,’ he wouldn’t be able to make a move.

After all, the Military now felt guilty and uncertain about how to handle him. But once the truth about Fang Hao’s death surfaced, things would be far worse.

    “Yenir!”

    “Enough!!”

    It finally hit him.

For a full seven to eight seconds, the high-ranking Military officers, seething with anger, roared as their surging power locked onto Yenir, who still dared to press on.

    Damn it!

He had witnessed countless scenes in his high-ranking career.

He had seen plenty of arrogant second- and third-generation spoiled brats.

But for someone like Yenir to act in front of the Military and even attack a Committee Member—the brazenness was off the charts!

He was too blatant! Too outrageous!

Especially after Yenir’s recent remarks, which were nothing short of stepping on Lu Tianming’s pride!

    “Enough? Enough of what?”

“What’s it now? Commander Huang, are you planning to strike me? Or colluding with that old dog Lu to ambush me!?”

Turning his head, Yenir defiantly glared at Huang Zheng without a trace of fear.

He vaguely recalled this man—a Third-Stage Advanced practitioner and a veteran high-ranking Military officer. Though their interactions were few in his previous life—and that man had long since passed—he remembered him as a rigid traditionalist.

    “Ambush me!?”

There was a brief moment of hesitation.

Huang Zheng, as he listened to Yenir label him as part of Lu Tianming’s clique, was so enraged that he burst into bitter laughter.

“Yenir! Watch your tone! I only discuss the matter at hand!”

“Your feud with Committee Member Lu is none of my business! But you, arresting people and causing chaos in the Capital—do you still have any regard for the Military?”

“What did Committee Member Lu ever do to you!? I advise you not to push your luck—know when to stop! There’s bound to be some misunderstanding here!”

Suppressing his simmering rage, Huang Zheng pointed toward the East Sea, his face darkening:

“The East Sea is already enough trouble for us. Yenir, can’t you think of the bigger picture?”

“You’ve stirred up such a commotion. If word gets out, how will the people of China view us? Will they see us as a laughingstock!?”

Unaware that Yenir had already shed blood, Huang Zheng could only hold his tongue, striving to persuade Yenir to stand down.

In his eyes, it was clear that Yenir simply couldn’t let this go—he had to make a scene at this critical moment.

    It was downright… too self-righteous!

    “Misunderstanding?”

    “Putting the bigger picture first?”

Taking a step forward, Yenir coldly met his gaze, unwilling to back down.

“What do you mean by ‘misunderstanding!?'”

“A misunderstanding is that while I risked my life saving people on the Frontline, you were sending troops to arrest them!”

“A misunderstanding is that while I fought desperately in the replica for our country, you conspired behind my back to harm my family and take everything from me!”

“A misunderstanding is that when Committee Member Lu slandered me for drawing in the Sea Beast and stealing supplies, who came to defend me? And even when I razed the city, you claimed I acted out of personal vengeance against the East Sea!”

“Why should I be punished for that!?”

    “The Military is unjust!”

“Then I will personally reclaim that justice!”

His words crashed down like a sledgehammer, falling heavily on everyone’s ears. Meanwhile, Huang Zheng, who had plenty to say, found himself utterly speechless.
