Chapter Index

    His steady hands trembled slightly.

Staring at the crude, almost rough ‘blueprint’ in his grasp, Deputy Director Zhang looked as if he’d seen a ghost—suddenly raising his head and fixing Yenir with a piercing gaze.

Within moments, it wasn’t the blueprint’s purpose that struck him, but the simplistic, doodle-like design that utterly terrified him!

That design… it was the very structure they’d just devised!

In three years, they had only recently built a prototype, barely testing it a few times!

Apart from him, no more than three people in the entire Institute even knew about it!

“How do you know about this design? Who told you?”

“This blueprint was only finalized last month!”

In his overwhelming anxiety, he frantically rummaged through his thoughts for the likely leaker.

It was no wonder he was so tense.

In his eyes, Yenir wasn’t even truly part of the Institute—he probably hadn’t interacted much with its members! An apparent outsider among outsiders, yet somehow he got hold of their crucial breakthrough!

What did that mean? It signified a major internal problem—a leak of colossal proportions!

Puffed with rapid breaths, Researcher Li, noticing their Teacher’s tension and hurrying to the Elder’s side, suddenly realized something was amiss.

Instinctively, he too glanced at the structure diagram and, in the next second, his face turned ashen:

“You actually stole our design blueprint!?”

“Damn it! What exactly are you trying to do? Who handed this to you?”

“Do you have any idea how important this design is!”

    His anger and disbelief surged.

As one of their most critical projects, they had poured enormous effort into it—resources worth millions, almost enough to build a mini Safe Zone! For Yenir to treat it like discarded trash was infuriating!

If this leak even reached the enemy Battle Zone, all their work would be wasted, and the entire Research Institute would be held accountable.

Yet, amid the furious outcry and calls to seize him, Yenir merely chuckled lightly, too indifferent to waste words.

If these researchers were among those he respected, perhaps his tone would be different.

But these people? They needed a serious wake-up call.

“Examine closely the two structures behind this.”

    “Stolen?”

Yenir smiled, unconcerned that his amusement might sound mocking.

“You’re trying to mimic a spinal structure to design a power transmission mechanism, aren’t you?”

“But with such a lousy design? I’d advise you to give up outright.”

“What’s the point of mere imitation? Did you even consider material strength, mass production, or the magnified flaws of an enlarged design?”

“How do you dare treat this error-ridden structure as a treasure?”

“Structural errors! Data distortion! Narrow thinking!”

Without mincing words, after pointing out the mistakes, Yenir quickly grabbed a pen and scribbled a series of data.

Seconds later, right before their stupefied faces, he slapped the new data right in their faces.

“Take a look—these are the new structural parameters.”

“Using the two diagrams I later drew, run the simulation again. I expect your apologies in ten minutes.”

    “Steal your design? Ha…”

“I’m not leaving; just conduct your own investigation and see for yourselves.”

Calmly, Yenir shook his head and gestured for Sun Li Cheng and the others to follow him.

He was tired of wasting time with petty arguments.

Surely, within ten minutes, these stubborn researchers would realize just how absurd their errors were and how terrifying his diagrams turned out to be.

Meanwhile, under Yenir’s relentless questioning, Researcher Li, looking utterly bewildered, finally came to his senses.

    “What new structural diagram!?”

“Are there errors in our design!?”

    “Is he mocking us!?”

For the first time, being ridiculed by an outsider for their supposedly trash design, his anger surged and he almost lunged at Yenir to demand an explanation!

If it were merely about performance, that might be forgivable—but this kid, with his cocky arrogance, dared to instruct them!?

Really, if after years of research their work was still inferior to Yenir’s offhand remark, they might as well hang themselves!

As for Yenir’s sketches, they were dismissed as gibberish—how could such perfection be casually drawn?

    “Stop right there!”

    “Come back!”

Both commands rang out in unison.

Just as Researcher Li, seething with intent, prepared to grab Yenir’s arm, Deputy Director Zhang, who had been stunned into silence, now looked at Yenir’s retreating figure with a grave, bewildered expression.

    He understood!

Although Yenir’s words sounded harsh, the issues he pinpointed were indeed their biggest headaches! As for the leak—Yenir’s claim of staying put for their self-examination? Fine, he’d verify it!

Besides… if Yenir were merely spouting buzzwords, he couldn’t have been so precise!

Unable to resist, the Elder picked up the ‘simple blueprint’ once more, staring intently at the crude design that nonetheless hinted at a serious structure, uncertainty gnawing at him.

Could this really be a new design? Judging by Yenir’s tone, their work was nothing compared to these two structures!?

Even as a seasoned researcher, albeit skeptical, he couldn’t completely rule it out.

    “Li Yao! Follow me back!”

“Immediately run a simulation based on this blueprint—I want to see the results!”

The more he looked, the more unnerved he became.

The Elder clutched the Youth’s arm tightly, his expression grave.

To him, this simple diagram increasingly felt genuine—and the data Yenir had jotted down only reinforced its authenticity!

“If he’s toying with us—fabricating lies and mocking us—I’ll report him to the Military Department!”

“Now, start the simulation immediately! I want to see where his confidence comes from!”

    …………….

Heading in another direction within the Institute, trailing behind Yenir, both the receptionist and Sun Li Cheng watched with puzzled expressions.

They were itching to ask whether Yenir’s words were genuine or just intended to rile up the researchers.

In their eyes, Yenir might be extraordinarily gifted, but surely he couldn’t understand all these complexities, right?!

    He offered no further explanation.

Casually scanning the machines around him, Yenir murmured as Sun Li Cheng broke the silence:

    “Make your selection.”

“See what’s needed; later we’ll move it back.”

    He didn’t like wasting time.

Since he was here, he might as well get both tasks done.

At Yenir’s words, Sun Li Cheng lit up—as all his earlier rambling thoughts were instantly cleared away, replaced by sheer joy at the sight of the sophisticated equipment before him.

To him, these high-end instruments were beyond anything he’d ever dreamed of!

Seeing Sun Li Cheng in such a frenzy, Yenir smiled and waited patiently.

He was certain that soon enough, the old man would come running, crying and pleading with him.

The design diagram he had just presented was genuine. In fact, in a past life he had even ‘designed’ this very transmission structure. Though he wasn’t deeply involved, he had memorized most of the key figures.

After the apocalypse, the Military focused on studying mutant structural patterns and developing various weapons and equipment.

This transmission structure—linked to the Spirit Energy mech units that emerged during the final three years of the catastrophe—essentially mimics a mutant’s spine, making armor more agile and battle-ready. Its power was nothing short of revolutionary!

As a frontline fighter, he naturally kept a keen eye on this matter.

In Yenir’s recollection, the Military Research Institute had long pursued the wrong approach with this technology, only accidentally changing course in the final year.

It wasn’t that the researchers were foolish or that the Military’s R&D was lacking—it was that these researchers were so accustomed to data simulations that hardly any had real combat experience.

It was all theoretical—they always focused on simulating mutants, never even considering simulating the Awakeners themselves.

Only in the final year, when experienced Awakeners were brought into the Institute, did the breakthrough occur.

The two subsequent design structures were the initial prototype and the final version.

Yenir was confident that once the data simulation was complete, anyone with a shred of sense would grasp the groundbreaking significance of this entirely new design…

As for how he knew all this?

    Yenir chuckled indifferently.

He planned to credit it all to his rewards from the Zombie Realm copy. After all, no one would know what prize he’d actually received.

“A mere transmission structure? Ha—what I unleash next will shake the entire world.”

    …………………

    Ten minutes later.

A scream, as if someone’s neck had been caught, echoed throughout the Institute—as if they had witnessed a miracle.

    “Impossible!!!”

“My God, how can there be such flawless data in this world!!!”

At the supercomputer console, Deputy Director Zhang, formerly skeptical, now seemed utterly dumbfounded, his eyes fixed on the pulsating data.

Beside him, several researchers tasked with cross-checking the numbers stood slack-jawed, staring at the comparison chart in disbelief.

Those impeccable data curves spelled out 【pERFEct】 (perfection)!
