Chapter Index

    Half an hour later.

Fang Hao, who had been keeping vigil high above and monitoring the mutated creatures, exhaled deeply. There was a mix of relief and something else flickering in his eyes.

After Yenir had him patrol the area to check for any unusual activity in the skies over the East Sea, he got to work.

But after circling around, he found nothing unusual.

At least, the Sea Beast wasn’t on the move as Yenir had predicted.

“Yenir, I think everything’s clear here,” he reported.

“But if I understand you correctly, you believe that the Sea Beast will eventually descend from the East Sea and threaten the surrounding battle zones?”

With the alarm deactivated, Fang Hao read Yenir’s message with a hint of puzzlement.

The message hinted that there was no need to maintain a prolonged presence over the East Sea, even dismissing the Military’s plans to rebuild settlements in the area.

Yet, he believed there was a real possibility that the Sea Beast might reappear.

Isn’t it precisely because of this fact that, once the Military catches its breath, they will reclaim the East Sea? Even if they don’t rebuild on the ruins, they’ll at least establish a defensive line.

But with his analytical mind, Fang Hao could see that Yenir’s subtext was threaded with deeply troubling insights…

The Military might soon find themselves too overwhelmed to act accordingly.

Could the coastal regions be abandoned?

    Would their troubles only multiply?

Yenir’s underlying tone filled him with profound unease. He always felt that Yenir was oddly pessimistic about the future, expecting colossal changes in the Huaxia Battle Zone.

“Uncle Fang, you don’t need to ask anymore. I was just making an offhand remark,” Yenir replied.

“By the way, I wanted to ask – regarding the Human-Faced Falcon Bone Liquid you mentioned earlier – isn’t the Military able to get it for me?”

    Changing the subject.

Yenir sighed inwardly, noticing that Fang Hao had picked up on his gloomy outlook about the future. For a moment, he marveled at Fang Hao’s keen insight.

Even if he were reborn with all plans progressing smoothly, he didn’t believe he could flawlessly navigate this catastrophe. As long as the Military followed conventional methods, significant losses were inevitable. And Yenir himself was powerless.

It was like trying to wake someone who was pretending to sleep.

In times of prolonged peace, the Military’s mindset becomes rigid; their leaders are used to long meetings and discussions, making rapid change nearly impossible.

Only blood and pain can make people truly wake up.

The fall of the Huaxia Battle Zone was inevitable!

Future disasters would escalate exponentially! The East Sea’s A+ incident was merely an appetizer!

No matter how powerful Yenir became or how much effort he exerted, his time and energy were finite.

    East Sea, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Northeast…

Disasters would strike all these battle zones in the future – often simultaneously. By the mid-stage, hardly anywhere would be safe.

Thus, after the East Sea incident, Yenir clearly realized that playing firefighter everywhere was futile.

He had already made one mistake; there was no need to repeat it.

Until he cleared all obstacles, these issues would only delay his plans and drain him in internal strife. His new goal was to boost his strength as quickly as possible, then seize command through military might and personal power!

He couldn’t wait for the higher-ups to cooperate – he had to take the initiative!

Even if it meant offending many people or triggering massive upheaval, it was a risk he was willing to take. When everyone finally realized the impending disaster, they would understand why Yenir had acted this way.

He would shoulder all the doubts and mistrust thrown his way!

    “The Human-Faced Falcon Bone Liquid?”

At Yenir’s mention of it, Fang Hao paused for a moment before responding after some thought:

“I’ve been in constant touch with the Military in the Far Frontier Battle Zone about this matter.”

“They believe it exists, but Yenir… the Military might need some time before they can secure it for you.”

As he spoke, a bitter smile briefly flashed across Fang Hao’s face:

“It’s not that we don’t want to get it for you. You might not realize that the Far Frontier Battle Zone was plunged into chaos during the apocalypse. Even though the Officials later got it under control, historical reasons mean that many Private Factions remain there, and the survivors are less than cooperative…”

“The item is likely held by the Bloodshadow Legion. They’re essentially the dominant force there. Even if we approach them directly, they’re unlikely to hand it over willingly…”

“You know how much the Military values peace and stability. If we tried to force the issue or sent troops over… it would only spark conflict.”

“That could easily lead to clashes resulting in the deaths of innocent survivors…”

“The Military’s stance is to prioritize the bigger picture. They’re asking for your patience.”

Though his words were couched in vagueness, Yenir on the other end understood perfectly well.

It was simple – Fang Hao was dancing around the truth.

The Military didn’t have complete control over the Far Frontier. With so many Private Factions there, any official intervention would surely provoke strong resistance.

If Yenir wanted that item, he’d either have to wait for the Military to increase pressure through negotiations, or…

“Uncle Fang, if it’s like that, can I go there myself?”

“Don’t worry — I won’t reveal my identity,” he assured calmly.

With a cold tone and a glint in his eye, Yenir decided he’d take matters into his own hands.

The Far Frontier… the Bloodshadow Legion…

Under Uncle Liang’s protection, his safety wasn’t a concern. Moreover, he recalled that some set components had even appeared there before.

For Yenir, staying in the Capital to boost his strength was inefficient. Until the Supernatural Plan was complete, even absorbing top-grade Spirit Crystals wouldn’t offer the speed he needed. Others might be content with relying on combat, but for him, the best way to level up was by hunting mutated creatures.

Before reaching the Third-Stage Mid-level, he’d already exhausted every resource available in the Capital. Remaining there until his promotion to a higher level would be a colossal waste of time.

“The Ripper Suit… The Military seems to have a very ambiguous stance on it. They haven’t provided me with the other components. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s too valuable or because the components are in someone else’s hands.”

“If I want to boost my combat power through equipment, there’s no doubt I have to rely on epic-grade or better gear…”

“I seem to recall several Legendary Suits appearing in the Far Frontier Battle Zone. I can’t afford to let them go to waste…”

At that moment, Yenir swiftly solidified his next plan.

Head to the Far Frontier, secure the Human-Faced Falcon Bone Liquid under a private guise, and snatch up the Legendary Suit — all to boost his strength at record speed!

An upgrade on three fronts. Perfection!

Back on the other end of the communication, Fang Hao was taken aback by Yenir’s message.

Is he really considering going over there himself?

“Yenir, are you in such a hurry?”

“Give us some time. Right now, the Military is preoccupied with negotiations with the Bloodshadow Legion. They’ll definitely secure what you need for you in due course.”

“Going there on your own might not be the best idea…”

“The Bloodshadow Legion is formidable, and they aren’t as easygoing as you might think…”

Fang Hao couldn’t help but try to dissuade him.

In Fang Hao’s view, a high-grade mutated creature material was nothing that the Military couldn’t retrieve. But if Yenir got into trouble in the Far Frontier, it would be a disaster.

That region was in utter chaos. Given Yenir’s temperament, any clash with the local factions would mean even if troops were sent, it would take time.

For someone of Yenir’s talent, staying in the Capital and safely growing stronger was best. When it came to resources, the Officials would never be stingy.

“It’s fine, Uncle Fang,” Yenir replied.

“Securing that item is crucial for me. I might not have much time left…”

“With Uncle Liang around, everything will be alright.”

“Also, regarding the Core of the Otherworldly Ghost, Uncle Fang, please ask around at Institute Seven. The last time I inquired, their response was very odd.”

    No further explanation was given.

Yenir knew that Fang Hao was concerned about his safety, but time was of the essence. His power had to increase even faster than originally planned!

Before reaching the Fourth Stage, his limitations were simply too great…

    A year…

    No, seven months!

In seven months, he needed to break through to the Fourth Stage and achieve an unprecedented feat!

Reading Yenir’s message, Fang Hao let out a silent sigh, finding himself unable to say much more.

    “No time?”

“Is it because of that deathmatch incident?”

To be honest, he wasn’t very confident in Yenir. After all, facing Lu Tianming with just a Third-Stage Beginner in three months was utterly outrageous…

If Yenir truly managed it, wouldn’t that mean he could even take down a Peak Third-Stage in a few more months?

It had taken him twenty years to climb from a low-level Awakener to a Peak Third-Stage… that’s already the mark of a genius!

Enough. In the upcoming deathmatch, the Military would undoubtedly protect this kid covertly. Worst case, they’d even send someone back personally…
