Chapter 423: A Ruthless Encounter
by xennovelStepping onto the second floor, treading on the soft carpet, Yenir casually surveyed the private room.
Unlike the noisy first floor, this level was much quieter.
Judging by the tightly shut doors of each room, it was clearly a space reserved for high-profile indulgence.
The heavy wooden doors provided superb soundproofing.
Even if an unruly gathering took place inside, no sound would leak out.
Perfect…
Quickly approaching the room labeled ‘VIP 1’, Yenir yanked the door open with one forceful tug.
Sure enough, inside the room, a balding, beer-bellied middle-aged man stood naked on a sofa, stupefied as he clutched two young girls. Judging by the way he swayed, he’d only been dancing moments before.
Yenir casually scanned the room and couldn’t help but chuckle.
“You sure know how to party…”
“Who are you?!”
Unlike Yenir’s relaxed demeanor, the middle-aged man—interrupting his fun—gasped and immediately scolded him. Behind him, two ghost hunters with Second-Stage fighter abilities instantly reacted and charged toward Yenir.
The pair suddenly noticed the cold, predatory glint in Yenir’s eyes, as if he were eyeing his prey.
“Whoosh! Bang!”
No words were wasted.
Before the two could reach him, Yenir sneered and exploded into action. In an instant, his fists connected, tearing open the chests of both bodyguards.
It was as if his blows pierced them straight through—a one-hit kill.
With his Third-Stage mid-level prowess, he didn’t even need to unleash a single skill.
Meanwhile, as the two Second-Stage fighters dropped dead in an instant, a girl in the room screamed in terror, and the naked businessman stood frozen in shock.
Staring at the suddenly aggressive Yenir, the businessman was too stunned to react.
“This is incredible! His bodyguards are only Second-Stage—next to him, they’re as helpless as infants!”
“What level of ghost hunter is he? Third-Stage? Or even some kind of fiend?!”
Methodically, Yenir incapacitated the screaming girls and then kicked the room’s sound system to pieces.
“Smack!”
After a vicious slap sent the businessman sprawling to his knees, the room fell deathly silent.
“Answer me. If you make a sound, you’re dead.”
Yenir stated coolly as he planted one foot on the businessman’s chest, cutting straight to the chase.
He needed enough Credit Points—and nothing was quicker than a robbery.
As for any follow-up from the Dungeon’s NPCs? It didn’t matter; he planned to be off this floor within half a day—nothing to fear.
The businessman’s face was nearly unrecognizable, battered into a pig-like mess.
Everything had happened so fast that the man, pinned under Yenir’s boot, was nearly wetting himself in terror.
Seeing his fallen bodyguard, he trembled uncontrollably, unable to fathom how he had provoked such a ruthless killer.
“I… I say…”
Unable to muster any resistance and enduring pain that nearly knocked his teeth out, the middle-aged man known as Mr. Luo pleaded desperately, his eyes fixed on Yenir.
He had no idea who Yenir was, but judging by his merciless methods, this was a kill-dealer who wouldn’t hesitate to take a life. He certainly didn’t want to die!
“Very good.”
Yenir nodded in satisfaction—pleased that the man was cooperative.
“How many Credit Points do you have? The ones that can be transferred.”
“And how many can be transferred in ten minutes?”
Looking down, Yenir asked coolly as he slightly eased his pressure, clearly noticing he hadn’t even exerted much effort; this man was nearly crushed underfoot.
Hearing Yenir’s questions, the businessman was initially stunned before letting out a sigh of relief.
So it was about money! Thank goodness—I thought he wanted my life!
“Two hundred thousand! Sir, I have two hundred thousand!”
“Take it all! It’s in my bag. The code is…”
“Two hundred thousand?”
Yenir’s brows furrowed, and his expression turned icy.
Two hundred thousand sounded like plenty, but it fell far short of his target. Noticing the businessman’s failure to answer about the transfer amount, Yenir knew the fat man was secretly hoping for more.
“Crack”
Without hesitation, Yenir crouched and snapped the man’s finger with his right hand.
With a crisp snap of breaking bone, the middle-aged man cried out in agony as tears and snot streamed down his face.
His already fat face contorted into a grotesque grimace.
When had he ever known such torment?!
Pressing one hand to the businessman’s eye and following a resounding slap that silenced him, Yenir spoke coldly once more:
“Behave. Do you really think I don’t know who you are?”
“If it’s less than ten million, I’ll rip your eyeballs out and stuff them in your mouth.”
As he spoke, Yenir applied even more force, and the searing pain from his snapped finger made the man howl in despair.
“No! Stop it!”
“Please, spare me! Seven million! That’s all I can muster, Sir—I really don’t have ten million…”
Weeping uncontrollably, his fat flesh trembled like a shaken sieve.
Faced with Yenir’s ruthless threats, the businessman stammered in terror, realizing this madman was capable of unspeakable acts!
In his fear, he dared not hide anything.
Sensing Yenir’s lingering dissatisfaction, he panted heavily and frantically explained:
“Sir! That’s all I can transfer! Even if you kill me, it won’t make a difference—you simply don’t have ten million. Please, spare me…”
“Crack”
Ignoring the businessman’s desperate, hoarse pleas, Yenir emotionlessly snapped off another finger, repeating the act until he was certain the man wasn’t lying.
It appeared… he truly didn’t have that much.
“Seven million? That might just do… Worst case, I can always source more later.”
Looking down at the man who was nearly unconscious, Yenir decided not to inflict any further harm.
“Now, transfer the funds immediately.”
“Also, do you know any Officers? Perhaps someone from the Public Security Bureau or one of the inspectors?”
Casually asking, Yenir tossed an ID Card belonging to an Otherworldly Girl in front of the man before softly continuing.
A businessman of his stature would surely have connections with the Authorities.
He needed to find a way to summon them; Yenir required their services.
In excruciating pain, the middle-aged man trembled, though despite discerning Yenir’s intent to viciously target the Officials, with his life hanging in the balance he dared not lie.
“Yes, I know people!”
“I even know a Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau!”
…………
Half an hour later.
In a quiet alley, a middle-aged man in plain clothes frowned as he read a message from Mr. Luo.
“Director Chen, I have something very important to discuss with you privately—it’s about the Water Purification Project!”
Seeing the message from Mr. Luo, with whom he had business ties, the man in plain clothes felt a surge of irritation, canceling his regular meeting upon receiving the news.
“He wants to see me suddenly? Could it be that the project has hit a snag?”
He had already warned that fatso—don’t you dare look ridiculous!
Just as he grew impatient and was about to urge Mr. Luo to come out and explain, two soft footsteps sounded behind him.
A youth clad in a black Combat Uniform, emitting a faint scent of blood, smiled warmly as he faced the man.
“Answer me. If you speak, you’re dead.”
“Gulp…”
As his words fell, a terrified, wide-eyed head tumbled right before his eyes.
