Chapter Index

    “Absolutely breathtaking! Simply breathtaking!”

“Lord Yinglong! With your terrifying control over the body, there’s no one in the entire Huaxia Battle Zone stronger than you!”

“Yeah, as expected of our supreme commander! Based purely on combat skills, Yinglong could wipe out Third-Stage Awakeneds in seconds!”

Outside the evaluation arena, Yinglong stood impassively, surrounded by a group of onlookers praising him.

After casually displaying some basic techniques to pass the test, he stirred an uproar in the arena.

Even though he only used First-Stage strength, his genuine prowess crushed the competition, leaving even a host of Dungeon NPCs in awe.

With the highest test scores, many of the human contestants were quick to extend an olive branch, hoping to have him join their team.

Yet, Yinglong remained completely unmoved by it all.

    It was all just procedural…

Just like Yenir skipped the ‘Newbie Tutorial’. As a Peak Third-Stage powerhouse, if not for caution and ensuring he conquered this Dungeon flawlessly, he wouldn’t waste his time here.

Clearly, the main challenge of this Dungeon’s A-level difficulty lies in combat. But early on, the system felt friendly and considerate.

“Yinglong, I never expected your innate talent to be this formidable!”

“You’re destined to become an exceptional Ghost Hunter someday!”

Standing by Yinglong’s side, a soldier-like NPC gazed at him in awe, as if meeting him for the first time, his expression stirring with excitement.

Moments ago, he had witnessed Yinglong’s miraculous performance firsthand – that frightening combat technique and body control had clinched the highest test score without doubt!

Had it not been limited to First-Stage strength, the Ghost Hunter Association would have undoubtedly issued him a higher-level ID Card!

This was utterly different from the Yinglong they had imagined – like meeting a completely different person!

Unlike how he brushed off everyone else.

Listening to the Middle-Aged Soldier’s praise, Yinglong smiled slightly and said:

“Brother Zhang, during your absence I often went down myself to hunt those anomalies.”

“Wasn’t it you who mentioned discovering an anomaly hotspot? Now that the test is over, why don’t we gear up and head down together?”

Despite the Middle-Aged Soldier only wielding Second-Stage power, Yinglong never showed an ounce of disdain.

After entering the Dungeon, the soldier had rushed over. Just like Yenir’s earlier ordeal, his vast experience made him instantly realize that this Middle-Aged Soldier was the guide assigned by the system.

Choosing caution over haste, Yinglong decisively delayed a bit to stick with the soldier’s pace.

It might waste some time, but securing the final Dungeon rewards made it worthwhile.

    “No problem!”

“All your friends are incredibly strong! I’m sure this trip will go smoothly!”

    He agreed in one breath.

It was as if he had just unlocked the next phase of the mission.

Buoyed by confidence, the Middle-Aged Soldier excused himself, seemingly off to prepare some things.

As Yinglong watched him depart, a strange glint flashed in his eyes.

“If my judgment is right, the place this NPC is taking me will gradually ramp up the difficulty.”

“It’s like what the previous group experienced – essentially, the guide leads you through tasks until the final showdown with that top-tier anomaly…”

“Even if the guide’s strength isn’t impressive, he can still show you the way…”

“Wasting a little extra time is worth it…”

Based on his underlings’ feedback from last time, this Underground Dungeon wasn’t too tough initially. The real challenge lay in the final floors. The Dungeon’s overall brutality was offset by rewards so lavish they were almost unbelievable!

According to his team, the ultimate prize might even be a Legendary Suit!

His previous underlings, merely average Third-Stage fighters, couldn’t last long and had to bow out halfway.

But because of that, after confirming the information repeatedly, he decisively chose to go in himself!

Even if a First-Stage fighter couldn’t conquer this Dungeon, he absolutely could!

A Legendary Suit – that was the pinnacle of equipment in the apocalypse! Though he commanded an entire Bloodshadow Legion, he had never managed to acquire one!

Such equipment was nearly unattainable – either extremely rare or maddeningly difficult to obtain!

Thus, once inside the Dungeon, he was determined to leave no room for error, even if it cost extra time.

“Commander, I feel we might need to ensure this NPC survives.”

“You see, as soon as we entered, he bolted over. Clearly, he’s a key NPC! Moreover, when I chatted with him, he mentioned his past ventures into the underground!”

“He even knows some Ghost Hunters – sounds like he could be a supportive NPC joining our team!”

As if on cue, a Third-Stage Awakened trailing behind Yinglong spoke respectfully, eager to impress his leader.

For them, this Dungeon was a walk in the park.

With Yinglong at the helm, even an A-level challenge wasn’t daunting. After all, they all knew that the difficulty of Underground Dungeons was laid out in clear sight.

Thus, seizing the opportunity to make a stellar impression on Yinglong was a golden chance for them!

However, listening to the mundane analysis from his subordinates, Yinglong coldly watched the Middle-Aged Soldier’s retreat and said:

“You think you can teach me how to do things?”

“Take a few men and rush back to gather more anomaly information.”

    “Following an NPC completely? Hmph…”

He was too tired to waste words with his underlings.

Accustomed to cautious operations, Yinglong knew he couldn’t simply let the guide lead him.

With a wealth of Dungeon experience, he had seen more than his fair share of system-set traps. Although the Middle-Aged Soldier didn’t look like a trap, he still kept his guard up.

As his words died down, the Awakened who had spoken earlier turned pale, realizing he had angered the Commander.

Before he could fumble an apology and rush off to gather documents,

a suit-clad man, looking troubled, suddenly approached them.

“Hello, are you the Ghost Hunters who just finished the test?”

“I… I’d like to commission something from you!”

The suit-clad man, mustering his courage and appearing to be around thirty, now looked nervously at Yinglong, the leader.

He had noticed the new Ghost Hunter a few minutes earlier.

He seemed strong, yet his level wasn’t high.

To him, that meant the fee for taking down anomalies wouldn’t be too steep.

Especially since he had overheard that they planned on hunting anomalies too!

Remembering his own tragic loss of wife and child, the suit-clad man saw hope in Yinglong and his team.
