Chapter Index

Come up with a plan to get Yinglong moved to coordinates 104.27.11.9.

It’s an abandoned lab over there. Just say you received a special assignment.

    Buzz buzz—

Under a barely noticeable tremor, Blood Nightingale remained composed as she read Yenir’s message, a flash of something unusual dancing in her eyes.

Four days have passed since entering the Dungeon. This is the first time that bastard has proactively asked her for something.

    “Thirteenth Floor… lure him over…”

“This… is it time to strike?!”

Just like before, she was torn between worrying that Yenir would do nothing and fearing he might suddenly go on the offensive against Yinglong.

Especially since there were no signs of any elaborate setup—it was agonizing.

“So, is it finally time to act? Luring him over isn’t a problem, but…”

When Yenir didn’t reply immediately, Blood Nightingale pressed her lips together silently and quickly asked:

“I can bring Yinglong over without a hitch, but you need to tell me exactly what you’re planning!”

“How many people have you arranged? What’s your success rate?”

“I need every detail of your plan!”

No wonder she was so tense.

In her mind, if Yenir were to act now, there were only two possibilities.

One: In that abandoned research institute on the Thirteenth Floor, Yenir had set a trap.

The moment Yinglong stepped in, the trap would trigger, and with several Peak Third-Stage fighters joining in, the Military could easily deploy contraptions to immobilize him!

Two: After she brings Yinglong over, Yenir would lure Otherworldly Ghosts to attack, wearing Yinglong down before striking.

    How conventional.

Both methods carried enormous risks, which made her extra cautious.

The first option—if Yinglong detected the trap—would mean she, the one who suggested it, would be the first to die! As for the second, after being worn down by the ambush, she’d have to consider her own safety.

And about this so-called setup of Yenir’s?

Frankly, she had almost lost hope.

In these four days, aside from occasionally asking for Yinglong’s coordinates, Yenir had done nothing else.

She couldn’t for the life of her figure out what he’d been up to all this time.

Moreover, the entire Bloodshadow Legion squad was on a lucky streak—reeling in rewards by the dozen and even having new NPCs join their ranks. Forget about wearing Yinglong down; the team was growing even stronger than before entering the Dungeon.

Especially since Yinglong had apparently reaped significant gains after obtaining the Core of the Otherworldly Ghost.

That artifact seemed to have a very special use.

“Just bring Yinglong over—no other choice.”

“Trust me. Once he’s there, you’ll understand.”

Without a word more, atop a deserted Building, Yenir calmly gazed toward the distant lab.

He didn’t intend to share any further details with Blood Nightingale.

Blood Nightingale believed that not knowing was far better. As for whether Yinglong would cooperate, Yenir wasn’t worried. That woman was always willing to take a gamble.

At this point, Yenir had an escape route—he could even coldly sell Blood Nightingale if needed. After all, if he left the Dungeon, would Yinglong really chase after him?

But Blood Nightingale selling him? Ha, no way. A betrayed and double-crossed Yinglong would surely swallow her whole.

Sure enough, after a minute’s hesitation, another message from Blood Nightingale came through.

“Yenir! I hope you’ve got what it takes, as you claim!”

“If I die, I won’t let your ghost rest!”

With a casual smirk at her “threat,” Yenir laughed lightly.

Good—now it’s just a matter of waiting for the bait to bite.

He had done everything he could. Now it was up to Li Dafu’s acting.

    ……………..

“Wrap up the fight quickly! There are loads of Otherworldly Ghosts on this floor!”

    “Boom!!”

With one gunshot, a blood-red drake pierced through a wave of charging Otherworldly Ghosts. Amid the chaos, as Yinglong coldly commanded while seemingly bathed in blood, a fleeting look of doubt crossed his eyes.

For some reason, he couldn’t shake the feeling that they’d encountered far too many Otherworldly Ghosts along the way…

    And they were all low-level…

Ever since half an hour ago when Blood Nightingale told him about a sudden assignment reportedly tied to the origin of the Otherworldly Ghosts, the entire squad had changed course and headed straight for the coordinates she provided.

The reason? Blood Nightingale claimed that, just by receiving the initial assignment, she had already earned 3 points of all attributes.

If it were anything else, Yinglong might not have cared so much. But attribute bonuses… even the mightiest Third-Stage fighter would drool over them.

So after a brief hesitation, he abandoned the idea of heading directly to the passage and instead made his way to the Research Institute.

Perhaps because of the ‘assignment’ there, they kept running into sudden attacks by waves of Otherworldly Ghosts.

“Lord Yinglong! The rewards in this Dungeon are incredibly generous—there are even attribute points!”

“Maybe at the end, there’ll even be a Legendary Suit reward!”

After taking down the last monstrous creature with a final swing, a middle-aged Third-Stage fighter exclaimed in awe.

Though they were swarmed by Otherworldly Ghosts, Yinglong’s minimal intervention wasn’t nearly enough to pressure them.

“Yeah, who would’ve thought that Miss Blood Nightingale could trigger a hidden mission in idle chat with these Dungeon humans and snag extra rewards.”

“I should have chatted with them too.”

Within the Bloodshadow Legion, several Third-Stage Awakeneds looked on enviously as they observed Miss Blood Nightingale. While they were slogging away as grunt workers, she always led the charge. Being the only woman in the squad naturally made her the target of Lord Yinglong’s attention, allowing her to avoid much of the combat.

Noticing the discussion about her, Blood Nightingale flashed an expertly practiced smile and feigned surprise.

“I never expected that the info from these Dungeon humans would trigger a mission.”

“But I worry that the task there might be too difficult and affect later missions.”

“Lord Yinglong even seems to think it’s a bit tricky.”

As she finished speaking, Blood Nightingale pretended to be concerned and looked over at Yinglong.

Facing her worried gaze, Yinglong—who had been pondering why another task had suddenly appeared—raised an eyebrow and decisively dismissed it.

    What a joke.

Not to mention, he was actually interested in this unexpected task. For the sake of his pride, he would take it on no matter what!

Worried? Tricky? No—it was just a passing thought!

He was a Peak Third-Stage fighter; why would he fear a mere task?

“Miss Blood Nightingale, there’s nothing to worry about. It’s just a minor side quest—I’m confident I can handle it.”

“I checked the map; it’s right on the way to the passage we need to find.”

“What’s the worst a side quest can be?”

Yinglong chuckled nonchalantly and, after his laugh, led the team out without further hesitation.

Meanwhile, Li Dafu, hidden inside the Research Institute, crouched by a window, nervously listening to the distant commotion.

“Boss wants me to swindle the treasure from a Peak Third-Stage fighter!”

Now, it was all down to his acting skills!

    “Phh.”

As if psyching himself up, Li Dafu tremulously jumped down from a cabinet taller than him. He’d already heard the rapid sound of explosive impacts in the distance.

“So what if it’s a Peak Third-Stage? I can still trick him!”
