Chapter Index

    Boom! Boom! Boom!

Stream after stream of supersonic blasts surged out from the coastal defense positions.

As if a massive battle were imminent, Zhao Hongtu at the front went pale; his hand flashed with a burst of light as he gripped his weapon tightly.

    Even though things looked odd.

Yenir soared at the lead, his expression unnervingly calm, almost blank.

Two Peak Third-Stage warriors followed closely, their faces as expressionless as robots.

Before Zhao Hongtu had time to process it, his heartbeat nearly reached his throat—he was unbelievably anxious!

And there was only one reason!

He instantly recognized the identities of the two Peak Third-Stage Awakeners near Yenir!

One had the typical look of a Southeast Asian survivor, while the other was even on the kill list of the Special Operations Department—a top powerhouse from the Japanese Battle Zone!

No matter how much he pondered, Zhao Hongtu could see only one possibility at that moment!

    Yenir was under pursuit!

Strange as it seemed, the top priority was to intercept the attackers and save Yenir!

No one understood Yenir’s value better than he did! If Yenir were to fall, all their hard work would be for nothing—and it would be a tremendous blow to Huaguo!

    “Yenir! Come here!!!”

Letting out a fierce roar, Zhao Hongtu unleashed his most potent power. A dark red glow, as fierce as raging bloodfire, enveloped him as he pushed his spirit energy to its limits.

He was desperate, nearly on the verge of insanity.

Despite the several hundred meters separating them, Zhao Hongtu resolved to deliver his ultimate strike first, planning to rescue Yenir afterwards!

Meanwhile, a barrage of defensive spirit energy weapons targeted the area around Yenir, ready to provide cover fire!

    Boom!

    The bloodfire surged up again.

Pushed by Zhao Hongtu’s relentless will, a sweeping, blood-colored blade of light seemed poised to cut through everything!

Yet, just as he swung to strike the nearest Peak Third-Stage warrior to Yenir…

Suddenly, a bewildered yet oddly commanding “Halt!” rang out from Yenir!

    “Wait!”

    “They aren’t enemies!”

    Damn!

Flying alongside two Otherworldly Ghosts, Yenir—just recently back in the Huaxia Battle Zone—suddenly reacted in shock, quickly and oddly halting Zhao Hongtu’s attack.

Damn, all along he had been juggling tasks to save time, obsessing over his next plan.

Only upon arriving here did he realize just how terrifying his look was!

He planned to infiltrate the battle zone through his own defensive line to keep the intel under wraps.

Although he had told Zhao Hongtu he would return, he subconsciously forgot how horrifying his two companions looked to anyone else!

Hold on!? Wait, what are we waiting for?!

At the same time, Zhao Hongtu, abruptly halted by Yenir, was taken aback, and the massive blade he had formed in his hand veered aside.

Everything unfolded so quickly that he struggled to grasp what Yenir meant by “they’re not enemies!”

Keep in mind, two enemy Peak Third-Stage Awakeners at the frontline would normally trigger extreme alert—and possibly ignite a small-scale conflict!

Thankfully, his extensive control over spirit energy quickly snapped him out of his stupor. He saw the two Peak Third-Stage warriors halt immediately at Yenir’s urgent command.

In that instant, a ludicrous thought flashed through his mind.

They halted?! Not enemies… Could they be allies brought by Yenir!?

    “Cease fire!!”

    ………………..

    Three minutes later.

Inside the tension-charged operations room at the coastal defense line, Zhao Hongtu repeatedly eyed the two Peak Third-Stage warriors standing behind Yenir.

At that moment, despite his cautious repeated inquiries, he still struggled to believe Yenir’s claims.

“Yenir!? Are you telling me these two are joining us? They defected?!”

Even Zhao Hongtu, battle-hardened and familiar with epic confrontations,

yet when he saw the respectful Peak Third-Stage warrior standing behind Yenir, his entire belief system seemed overturned.

His wide, oval eyes reflected a terror as if he had seen a ghost.

What a joke! Not only had Yenir inexplicably returned with two Peak Third-Stage warriors, but now he was claiming they would join the Huaxia Battle Zone and fight in the national war!

Such shocking news sent chills down his spine!

    Especially when…

“Minister Zhao, it’s an honor to be a part of Huaguo.”

“We both have long admired the charisma of Lord Yenir and have always looked up to Huaguo. That’s why we’ve decided to renounce our past allegiances and fight for all of humanity!”

Hearing their almost madly sincere explanation, Zhao Hongtu’s expression was priceless.

Under Yenir’s influence, both Hakechi and Ban Zhenlong solemnly stated that they had been completely won over by his charisma,

and they vowed to fight for ‘justice’!

But as he listened, Zhao Hongtu found it all utterly absurd…

    This is utterly ridiculous—beyond belief!

Charisma? ‘Justice’? What in the world is this?!

What kind of mind-altering trick did Yenir pull on these two Peak Third-Stage warriors?!

Taking a deep breath, Zhao Hongtu pushed down his shock, convinced that this world was entirely unreal!

Man, he went out for a spin and came back with two Peak Third-Stage warriors. No one would believe this if he told them!

Peak Third-Stage—this is the real deal!

Although he sensed that the two weren’t exceptionally powerful, truth be told, any Peak Third-Stage Awakener is strategically as valuable as a walking nuclear bomb!

Especially since Yenir had even picked them up from an enemy battle zone!

What the hell is this kid’s deal?!

Seeing Zhao Hongtu’s face contorting in shock like he’d seen a ghost, Yenir simply chuckled silently, no longer willing to explain.

He wasn’t planning on revealing any details about the Otherworldly Ghosts.

So he settled on a convenient excuse.

A couple of his skills demanded a life sacrifice to perform at full power.

Thus, whether he needed extra bodies as cannon fodder or as sacrificial lambs at crucial moments in this war—where he aimed to tear through six nations—Yenir planned to be fully prepared!

Had it not been for time constraints, he would have controlled even more people.

To be honest, he’d even thought about unleashing dozens of Peak Third-Stage warriors!

    …………………….
