Chapter Index

If everything goes as planned, those Huaguo and Vietnamese monkeys won’t still be in the city!

Fighting in the city with Third-Stage power is bound to leave a trail of destruction!

So, our only target is the coast!

    No doubt about it.

Leading the group, Park Chan-eun held a map and pinpointed the direction they needed to head in almost instantly.

After a brief discussion, the North Korean Awakener—acting like a coward—opted not to go alone and volunteered to check the city’s surveillance instead.

Even though the city they were in had just been overrun by a zombie outbreak and was in complete chaos,

for any Third-Stage fighter, it posed no real threat.

“Captain, should we wait for those North Koreans to confirm the surveillance before moving?”

“Every minute we delay wastes an opportunity…”

“In my opinion, we should just split up and act separately.”

“With your combat prowess, even if we are outnumbered, we have nothing to fear from the Huaguo!”

Trailing behind Park Chan-eun, a Third-Stage Awakened sporting what looked like a triangular helmet casually chimed in.

His talent for ultra-long-range scanning marked him as an ultra-range Awakener.

Tracking was his specialty! He could hardly wait to hunt down the Awakeners from both nations!

Every minute of delay felt like pure torture for him!

    “Absolutely, Captain!”

“I’ve done the math—those Huaguo idiots can muster at most two Peak Third-Stage fighters! Sure, they might have a hidden trump card, but it’s probably already spent!”

“With us combined with you, our combat power would absolutely crush them! Whether there are any North Koreans doesn’t even matter!”

“Captain, I agree! You alone are worth at least two of our grade, and I know a few of those Vietnamese monkeys Peak Third-Stage fighters!”

“I dare say, they’re no match for you!”

Listening to the praise and proposals from his subordinates, Park Chan-eun hesitated for a moment.

    Indeed.

With his combat prowess, he only felt pressure when facing the Japanese and Indian Battle Zones; other nations were nothing to worry about.

Although the North Koreans worked quickly—scouring the entire city in just a few minutes—that very window could mean a lost opportunity.

He even suspected that the Huaguo and those Vietnamese monkeys had only just clashed in battle…

After a few seconds of contemplation, a determined glint flashed in his eyes; he decided not to wait any longer.

“Then, let’s head to the coast immediately and search!”

“Those Vietnamese monkeys must have thought of heading to the coast too—there’s bound to be traces of them there!”

“Follow my orders: Everyone, split up…”

    Boom!!

Before he could finish his sentence, Park Chan-eun was suddenly startled as a burst of an electrical grid erupted around him, shielding him completely.

    “Who?!”

    “Incoming enemy attack!”

    Their reactions were instantaneous.

As a head exploded with a cracking sound, a piercing blast shattered the air among them.

    A blood-drenched blade flew skyward!

They caught sight of a lone, single-blade man who had mysteriously appeared overhead; his expression remained cold as he retracted his blade and leaped away. At the edge of the group, a Third-Stage Advanced Awakener armed with a longbow was suddenly cleaved in two with a single slash.

Like a dissected corpse, his organs spilled out in a neat cascade onto the ground.

Yet despite such a staggering strike, the building they were in only trembled slightly.

This display of precise control made everyone realize the attacker was undoubtedly a Peak Third-Stage fighter!

Clearly, under the ambush by that Vietnamese Awakener, the unfortunate Third-Stage Advanced had no chance of survival.

    “Vietnamese! Single-Blade!?”

    “Nguyen Tianming?!”

    His face turned grim.

Caught off guard by the sudden attack, Park Chan-eun instinctively shielded himself and quickly recognized the ambushing Peak Third-Stage fighter.

Nguyen Tianming was one of the better-known Peak Third-Stage fighters in the Vietnamese Battle Zone!

His strength was nearly on par with what he had been before acquiring his skills—a truly formidable opponent!

    He made no rash moves.

Even though one of his own Awakeners had been instantly taken out by the ambush—a real slap in the face—he chose not to charge into battle.

The reason was simple: he immediately noticed that Nguyen Tianming seemed to have appeared alone!

These Vietnamese monkeys actually had the nerve to ambush him single-handedly!?

Damn it! There might even be a trick involved!

Meanwhile, Nguyen Tianming—now transformed into an Otherworldly Ghost—showed no emotion whatsoever.

Even though his name was unmistakably called out and his identity recognized,

he could only regret that his kill count was too low.

There was nothing he could do; hidden under Yenir’s psychic shroud, he couldn’t get close to Park Chan-eun, or else his next strike would have surely targeted the enemy’s strongest force!

As for whether he’d die in the process, for him—an Otherworldly Ghost utterly loyal to Yenir—that wasn’t even a consideration.

Seeing that Nguyen Tianming said nothing, Park Chan-eun’s face darkened as he frantically scanned the surroundings.

He couldn’t fathom why these Vietnamese monkeys were here!

Logically, these Vietnamese shouldn’t be out chasing the Huaguo or hiding, should they!?

Showing up in the city clearly meant they planned to ambush the next Battle Zone!

    “Captain, there are three more!”

At the same time, a South Korean Awakener wearing a triangular mask, his eyes filled with blue light, urgently called out.

Specializing in reconnaissance, his psychic power eclipsed even Park Chan-eun’s, and he had naturally spotted three hidden Peak Third-Stage fighters lurking nearby!

They were all taken aback by the news.

Upon receiving the intel, Park Chan-eun tensed his muscles, only to exhale in relief the next moment.

“Three more!? Four Peak Third-Stage fighters in total? They dare ambush us!?”

But it’s better to confront the known than the unknown.

“Nguyen Tianming! You in the Vietnamese Battle Zone have some nerve! How can you still ambush us after failing to hunt down the Huaguo?!”

“Come out, then! I want to see where you got that confidence!”

    He sneered coldly.

Being ambushed is par for the course!

Four Peak Third-Stage fighters were still within his counter range!

Brimming with confidence in his own abilities, Park Chan-eun felt a surge of fierce combat spirit!

If these Vietnamese monkeys dare ambush him recklessly, they’ll pay with their lives!

Although Nguyen Tianming realized they had been spotted, he showed no sign of panic. He knew his master had only sent them to test the enemy.

Meanwhile, from atop a distant building, Yenir watched calmly as the South Korean Battle Zone Awakeners prepared to strike.

Lucky for him, they had pinpointed the enemy’s location.

So he decided to let Nguyen Tianming and his team make the first move.

Even though with his current power he could have taken them out in an instant—just as he did with the Vietnamese Battle Zone—he didn’t want the remaining enemy forces to realize his true threat.

    Moreover…

“In about eight hours, the rest of the battle zones will start rolling in.”

“It’s a shame to use all your trump cards on these idiots…”

“You only get out what card you can…”

    He chuckled softly.

At Yenir’s command, he ordered Nguyen Tianming and his men to strike immediately!

Who needs to hold back their own subordinates and fight for every scrap? Only an idiot would do that! Besides, since the dead are all Otherworldly Ghosts, he felt no regret.

If Nguyen Tianming dies, he could always recruit others!

Besides, he was curious to see just how ‘impressive’ that South Korean Peak Third-Stage fighter really was.

“I just hope I get the chance to step in…”
