Chapter Index

    Bang!!

    Boom!!

    Help me…!!

Screams and the sounds of collisions filled the air.

A whole squad of Japanese Battle Zone Awakeners stared expressionlessly at the NPCs desperately fleeing from the distant highway exit.

Behind these humans, zombies crawling out of wrecked cars lunged at them. In the raging inferno, flaming zombies attacked like demons—fearless of pain, yet the people they grabbed suffered both burning flesh and ripping agony.

“Captain, why did those Vietnamese monkeys order us to gather here?”

Among the Third-Stage Awakened, a youth armed with Dual Blades ignored the NPC’s plea for help.

Even though with their power any one of them could easily save these people, to them it was just another common sight.

A group of ‘Dungeon NPCs’—once dead, they were just dead.

Like his teammates, leader Yamamoto glanced at the city ravaged by zombies in the distance before hesitantly speaking:

“According to them, they discovered that the South Korean Awakeners and the Huaguo people had secretly teamed up and hidden here.”

“They claim the Vietnamese deceived their allies—those Southeast Asian monkeys—into coming along.”

“They believe that by teaming up with us here they can likely take down the three weakest battle zones!”

It all sounded a bit awkward.

After speaking, Yamamoto frowned and turned his gaze toward the Vietnamese in his team.

They were hostages—the Vietnamese Awakeners who had inexplicably proposed the alliance.

Noticing Yamamoto’s look, the Vietnamese under Yenir’s control flashed a strange glimmer in their eyes before offering an ingratiating smile and nod, as if unbothered by the Japanese Battle Zone calling them monkeys.

    “Captain Yamamoto, don’t worry,”

“Whether it’s the Koreans or the Southeast Asians, they’re no match for us!”

“Except for that troublesome Yenir—everyone else has average strength!”

“With the three battle zones joining forces, we’ll definitely take them down! After that, it’s on to a showdown with the Indians!”

    The alliances were intricate.

With Yenir deliberately muddying the waters, Yamamoto listened with a headache, yet from his perspective everything was still acceptable.

“Yenir? Hey, that guy named something like Nguyen…”

“Are you sure the Koreans got into trouble because that Chinese guy, Yenir, made a move!? His power is at Peak Third-Stage level!?”

Walking over to the Vietnamese, the Peak Third-Stage youth wielding Dual Blades wore a puzzled expression.

Though he had learned the details from the Vietnamese—about the odd readings they encountered upon entry—

when they mentioned Yenir again, he couldn’t help but want to verify the story.

If his memory served him right, the intel from those mysterious figures in Huaguo had rated Yenir’s power as Third-Stage Advanced.

Although impressive, it was still within acceptable bounds.

But according to the Vietnamese, Yenir’s power was actually at Peak Third-Stage!

“Sir, I’ve said it countless times. If you don’t believe me, you’ll see soon enough!”

“We were there when the Koreans first started hunting down the Huaguo people,”

“I saw it with my own eyes—Yenir unleashed Peak Third-Stage power and caught the Koreans off guard!”

“Otherwise, no matter how much the Koreans worried we’d intervene, they wouldn’t have fled in disgrace.”

    Half-truths.

The Otherworldly Ghost, under Yenir’s control, spoke in a deliberately earnest tone.

When it came to intel, outright fabrications never fooled those Third-Stagers.

Especially given how abnormally the Huaguo Battle Zone had been performing—it was clearly suspicious.

So, after much deliberation, Yenir decided that rather than letting the battle zones grow wary of him, he might as well reveal some information. Of course, the power he displayed was toned down.

“Peak Third-Stage… one sword strike took out a Korean Third-Stager…”

“It’s like an explosive trump card—you use it once and you’re drained?”

    He muttered to himself.

After the Japanese Awakened finished speaking, their eyes flickered. Before anyone could add a word, Yamamoto waved his hand, signaling them to hold their tongue.

“Never mind. Judging by the current situation, that kid isn’t enough to stir up any real trouble on his own.”

“Heh, a Third-Stage Advanced unleashing Peak Third-Stage power… still stronger than your average Peak Third-Stager.”

No wonder there are some within the Chinese circle who wish him dead…

    He shook his head.

Suppressing a twinge of unease, Yamamoto then nodded toward the Vietnamese and said:

“In that case, we’ll agree to cooperate with you.”

“But… if I catch you pulling any tricks, don’t blame me for wiping out your Vietnamese Battle Zone first!”

It was a mix of trust and distrust.

After speaking, a strange glimmer flashed in Yamamoto’s eyes, as if he truly agreed.

Yet, deep down, he knew that once they had used the Vietnamese, he had already struck a deal with the Central Asian Battle Zone to finish them off!

That maneuver would turn the entire national war into a final showdown between them and the Indians!

These trash nations have no right to compete in the final victor’s contest!

As for the information the Vietnamese revealed about Huaguo, it proved to be quite useful.

Huaguo’s Yenir was problematic, which explained the earlier anomalies.

Once that peculiarity was cleared up, he exhaled in relief.

Compared to the unknown, known dangers hardly qualified as dangerous.

    Just one Peak Third-Stager?

If he falls, Yenir would effectively count as two…

Heh… against their power, a simple wave could take them out in an instant!

    …………..

In the heart of the city, inside a skyscraper.

Hidden in a high-end meeting room, Yenir looked thoughtfully at the writing board before him.

With a pen in hand, he swiftly added a new connection on the densely marked board.

If outsiders were to glance at it, they’d see a complete map of all battle zones in the national war, with several conflicting markers branching out under each one.

    “That’s enough… it’s time to reel them in…”

Glancing at a message from the Otherworldly Ghost he had dispatched, Yenir chuckled lightly before turning to the window.

No one could have imagined that under his covert guidance, the remaining seven battle zones of the national war had all converged on this very city.

Each of the seven battle zones mistakenly believed they could form alliances and launch surprise attacks on their foes; now, they cautiously concealed their movements and converged from all directions.

“Even with an extra battle zone… it’s not a major issue.”

After dropping his pen, Yenir rubbed his tired eyebrows as a strange gleam flashed in his eyes.

Under his arrangements, he had already embedded Otherworldly Ghosts within every battle zone.

Walking to the floor-to-ceiling window, Yenir gazed calmly at the chaotic city below.

Though he couldn’t pinpoint the exact locations of each battle zone, a complete map had already materialized in his mind.

Beneath his feet, under the building, a barely visible ritual formation was unfolding.

“Wrap up the national war within 48 hours, and surely it will bring some surprises for certain individuals…”

    “Really… I’m curious…”
