Chapter 62: A Cruel Bargain in the Chasm
by xennovelUsing his levitation control, Yenir raised several iron bars as he cautiously bent over the chasm.
In the next heartbeat, a look of astonishment flashed in his eyes.
At the very bottom of the chasm, the Blood Wolf Leader—crumpled under mounds of rotting flesh—continuously spewed blood while glaring at him with venom.
How is she still alive!?
Sensing the woman’s feeble, near-death aura, Yenir didn’t hesitate to direct his dagger and steel bar straight into her head.
Forget the rest! I’ll finish her off with a follow-up strike!
The wind howled.
Guided by his spiritual power, the dagger and steel bar formed a triangular assault as they viciously stabbed at the woman’s brow.
But with a few crisp clashes, a thin blood-red shield instantly flared around her body.
A defensive skill? Or perhaps a gadget?
A peculiar glint flashed in his eyes.
Yenir stared at the fragile yet resilient shield, feeling a slight chill in his heart.
It seemed that, as the Farming Team captain, the woman certainly had plenty of tricks up her sleeve.
“So… it’s you!!”
Spitting blood continuously, the Blood Wolf Leader glared at him with deep hatred.
“Gasp… gasp…”
“With just that, you won’t be able to kill me…”
If not for that A-grade disposable consumable, her fate would have been no different from the others—leaving not even a corpse behind.
Yet even under a terrifying power capable of dispatching a Rank Three Intermediate instantly, her entire skeleton was shattered, leaving her on the brink of death.
Without a word, Yenir ignored her hateful glare and kept controlling the dagger to continue his assault.
…..
One minute later.
After leaping into the chasm, Yenir silently crouched over her head, his dagger thrusting in rapidly.
“Thud, thud! Thud! Thud!”
Once he realized that the Blood Wolf Leader had no strength left to resist, he abandoned his spiritual power control—his mental energy nearly spent from continuous combat.
Yet no matter how hard he tried, that blood-colored shield refused to break.
With eyes wide in rage and blood soaking the chasm below, the indomitable leader could only feel an overwhelming sense of humiliation.
Her beautiful face was twisted in fury.
“If you want to kill… then kill me!!!”
“Gasp… gasp…”
Her chest heaved rapidly; utterly powerless, she only begged Yenir for a swift end. To her, his slow, deliberate stabs were nothing less than a blatant mockery—a victor’s cruel taunt.
Clearly, he could have ended her with a Rank Three attack in an instant.
But instead, he chose this torturous method!
“Kill me! If you want to kill me… then do it!!”
Struggling, she roared in anger, her face contorted with madness, feeling as if she were losing her mind. As a top-tier Rank Three Awakener, when had she ever been so humiliated? Her pride made this fate worse than death!
Crouching atop her head, Yenir’s expression darkened as a flash of embarrassment crossed his mind.
Damn it.
He hadn’t expected that his Rank Two strength would be unable to pierce her shield!
What kind of gadget is this that can withstand so much…
With a sigh, Yenir halted his attack, ignoring the old woman’s furious curses.
Although she was beautiful, when facing an enemy he had no intention of going easy on her.
What now? Should he wait for that shield to dissipate on its own?
Watching the countdown to the dungeon’s automatic end, Yenir began to feel anxious.
More than the rewards from clearing the dungeon, the equipment on the Blood Wolf Leader was the true prize! The Farming Team was famously affluent!
Especially since this woman was a Rank Three! No doubt, she sported at least three or four pieces of blue gear.
After a brief pause, Yenir’s eyes flickered with determination.
Then, he suddenly sneered coldly:
“Craving a satisfying end?”
“You worthless scum—you’ve caused the death of so many Awakeners. Do you think you can die so easily?”
“When you tortured those Awakeners, you should have known this day would come!”
With righteous fury, Yenir’s face twisted with hatred as he reached out to grab the woman’s face, a cruel smile playing on his lips:
‘Can’t handle it now?’
“Soon you’ll learn what true humiliation is…”
Peering through the shield, Yenir immediately noticed the Blood Wolf Leader’s expression change; his words had clearly struck a vulnerable spot.
Recalling the villain’s previous antics, Yenir hesitated, considering whether to try another tactic.
Just as he began rummaging through his Combat Uniform for any useful items, the Blood Wolf Leader’s flawless face suddenly registered fear.
To her, Yenir’s movements resembled nothing short of foreplay.
“What exactly must you do to give me a proper end?”
In her shock and rage, the woman coughed up fragments of entrails, her voice hoarse as she demanded answers.
She wasn’t afraid of death, but her pride as a Rank Three would never allow her to die this way!
Hmm?
Are you yielding?
As if struck by a thought, Yenir sneered coldly:
“What are you willing to do?”
“It’s simple. Trade me your equipment—hand it over.”
“I’ll give you the end you desire. No more talk—just trust me.”
At his words, the Blood Wolf Leader froze, locking eyes with him. After several agonizing seconds of internal struggle and fear, she finally surrendered as she watched him prepare to act once more.
“If you… deceive me, you’ll meet a terrible end!!”
“Ding: Code A initiates trade: Blood Soul Armor (Blue).”
“Ding: Code A initiates trade: Frost Flame Gauntlets (Blue).”
“Ding: Code A initiates trade: Scorching Leg Guards (White).”
“Ding…”
Half a minute later, Yenir suppressed the gleam of pleasure in his eyes, his heart surging with exhilaration.
Looking at the nearly naked Blood Wolf Leader, stripped of her equipment, he couldn’t help but marvel—this woman was truly wealthy.
Nine pieces of gear—three blue and the rest fine white equipment. These could fetch over 200,000 in value, more than enough to cover his needed Spiritual Energy Fruit, not to mention the Credit Points she still held and the extra gear from other Blood Wolves.
By his calculations, his haul was simply staggering!
Sure enough, nothing beat robbery for quick gains. No wonder so many Awakeners ended up with the Farming Team.
Satisfied, he tossed the equipment into Li Dafu’s Summoning Space and was surprised to discover that his created space could serve as a modest storage area—after all, Li Dafu would carry it.
Suppressing his joy, Yenir turned his attention back to the Blood Wolf Leader.
One must admit, for an Awakener with such a powerful physique, her body was truly impressive—snow-white skin, long legs, and even her pristine breasts, encased in her bustier, quivered wildly as she panted.
A perfect figure, and a Rank Three at that…
In any Safe Zone, her proud and breathtaking beauty alone could capture the hearts of countless Awakeners.
Yet more than her body, Yenir was after her Credit Points.
“Kill… me…”
Seeing that Yenir hadn’t kept his promise, a trace of pleading seeped into the Blood Wolf Leader’s hateful gaze.
She resented that her shield had saved her and hated herself for not killing that bastard immediately!
With a mocking smile, Yenir ignored her gaze. He slowly drew closer to her face and whispered softly—almost tenderly:
“How could I bear to let you die? Hmm?”
“Hand over your Credit Points and gear, and I promise I’ll give you the end you desire.”
Listening to his demonic whisper, the Blood Wolf Leader spat out a mouthful of blood and, seething with malice, retorted:
“You… scum! Beast… I won’t… g-give in…”
Before she could finish, Yenir sighed and proceeded to forcibly spread her legs.
With a calm expression, he looked at her suddenly frozen, exquisite face:
“Not giving?”
“Guess… what I’ll do?”
With a light laugh, he had already seen through what truly terrified her. As disgraceful as it was, to save humanity, Yenir felt he must sacrifice a part of himself.
“Sorry.”
Grabbing her legs, Yenir slowly arranged her long, beautiful limbs into an utterly humiliating position in front of him. Through the damaged non-system gear and tattered undergarments, everything was laid bare.
In an instant, the once indomitable, arrogant Rank Three powerhouse—who had looked down on all Awakeners as mere pigs and dogs—completely collapsed.
