Chapter Index

In the afternoon, I received a notice from my editor that the book is cleared for launch. I’ve decided to release it tomorrow at noon!

It will go live exactly at 12:00 noon tomorrow.

I must thank my editor, Editor Night Snack, who has stuck with me for eight years. I’m grateful that even after I’ve churned out so many books, he never gave up and always offers tons of advice on every one…

Because I didn’t have any saved drafts, what was meant to launch in the early hours tonight has been pushed to tomorrow. I’ll be burning the midnight oil tonight—as ever since having a kid, I’ve been writing late into the night.

On a reflective note, after cranking out several books, I finally have another one ready for release. Thanks to everyone’s hard work, this book even managed to hit the Sanjiang mark. Sure, I had one failed PK attempt, but that in itself is an achievement. I salute you all!

I’ve mentioned before that after so many releases, this fantasy work is intended to be my final one—a true swan song.

To be honest, the early numbers weren’t great at all. On its first day on the recommended list, it gathered fewer than 200 bookmarks, and the backend conversion rate was only 19‰, compared to the average 35‰ for recommended works…

But at least it’s better than my previous releases that only earned a few dozen bookmarks per day on the list. That’s why I persevered, and slowly things began to improve.

With my rallying cry, everyone helped push it onto Sanjiang… Although its performance there was only so-so, it’s still an honor.

As for the last strong-push recommendation of the new book phase, the editor urged keeping readers engaged and had high hopes, so they went ahead and launched my book.

    ……

After all these years of writing, launching isn’t new to me—but this time, the nerves are still very real.

After all, this is the moment to see how many pre-orders we can secure in the new book phase.

The new book wasn’t launched until it reached 210,000 words, so it’s pretty lengthy now. Our backend shows 3,800 fake reads and a true read count of 2,400. Whether we can hit 2,000 pre-orders? I have no idea—because on Qidian nowadays, it’s just too tough, too bewildering… completely incomprehensible…

So I can only hope that when it goes live, everyone will help boost the pre-orders and support me, giving us a chance to glimpse the post-launch recommendations. These days, recommendations are decided by PK and pre-order numbers rather than a veteran author’s reputation…

Writing on Qidian has become incredibly challenging. For the past six months, I’ve barely made ends meet—it’s almost like being unemployed. I can only rely on this book to earn some formula money for my three-year-old at home.

Of course, I don’t have any grand ambitions for this book; I just want to see it through to completion.

After all, it’s meant to be my final fantasy novel.

My goal is 3 million words—finishing it will be a victory!

Regarding post-launch updates, here’s the plan… I’ll pump out 10,000 words every day.

If you all want more updates, it’ll depend on the monthly ticket count—every extra 500 monthly tickets will earn an extra update. Simple and straightforward…

Back in the day, I was like an octopus—at my peak, I’d churn out over half a million words in a month. So don’t worry, keep following along.

With this book, my only aim is to finish it completely, every last word.

‘Night Rain on the Martial World, a Lamp for Ten Years’—from being a food critic in 2016 to now in 2024, it’s been eight years, and a decade isn’t far off…

I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up, but as long as I’m writing, I’ll give it my all.

    I won’t say any more.

Tomorrow at noon, the book goes live. I just ask everyone to help boost those pre-orders and support me, so I can chase after those post-launch recommendations.

I’ll reward you all with a flurry of updates!

Enough talk—time to get to writing! Burning the midnight oil tonight and giving it my all tomorrow!

    Lastly, please subscribe once again!

Old Li bows in gratitude to you all!

    Drumroll, drumroll, drumroll!

I earnestly beg for subscriptions, monthly tickets, and recommendation votes! I need your fervent support!

    See you tomorrow!

Make sure you don’t miss it!
