Chapter 105: Plans Under the Night Sky
by xennovelThere’s a hugely popular show on Earth called ‘Snowy Blade Journey’ – and its scenes are exceptionally intriguing.
If they could recreate a few key scenes, it would undoubtedly lure in a wave of tourists – think Martial Emperor City! Ting Chao Pavilion, and more.
The more Xu Hao thought about it, the more he was convinced this show had potential.
Especially since Oasis 2 desperately needs attractions—a lakeside is perfect for a Ting Chao Pavilion, with Martial Emperor City built around it. A flawless plan.
“You go ahead and handle the matters for Wulin Wai Chuan; I’ll map out our next show,” he instructed.
Snap out of it.
Xu Hao remarked.
Ideas are one thing, but putting them into practice requires some serious thought.
“Alright,” came the reply.
Night deepened.
Back in his room, Xu Hao felt completely awake. Ever since he hatched the ‘Snowy Blade Journey’ plan, images of Ting Chao Pavilion and Martial Emperor City had haunted his mind.
He could even picture the pavilion vividly with his eyes closed.
“Martial Emperor City is simple; it’s the Ting Chao Pavilion that requires some finesse—after all, it involves intricate timber mechanisms! Plus, once Martial Emperor City is built, we can incorporate guesthouses within it.”
After pondering for a while,
Xu Hao pulled out his phone and dialed Zhu Qiang.
With time, his memory and understanding had sharpened, and his grasp of ancient architecture had climbed several notches.
The call connected quickly. “Qiangzi, you haven’t slept yet, have you?”
“No, I’m at the construction site right now. What’s up, Brother Hao?”
Zhu Qiang’s voice came through, underscored by the distant roar of machinery.
At project 256, work is non-stop – twenty machines are running simultaneously. The pace is blisteringly fast.
“How’s progress on Qing Brick Avenue?” Xu Hao asked after a moment’s thought.
After a brief pause, Zhu Qiang replied, “Brother Hao, Qing Brick Avenue is advancing swiftly. They expect the brickwork to reach the gate of Qixia Town in about five or six days, though the progress on the staff dorms and office building is a bit sluggish.”
He continued, “The design for the dormitory and office building – which you proposed – doesn’t use an all-timber structure. Instead, it relies on reinforced concrete inside, with an antiqued facade added later.”
To get it right the first time, they decided on five dormitory buildings and three office buildings.
The dormitories are situated on the south side of Qing Brick Avenue, while the office buildings stand on the north. From the outside, they appear as three-story structures with a covered corridor, but inside, they actually have seven floors.
Naturally, progress is slow.
“Alright then. We’ll need these dorms and offices for the long haul – we can’t sacrifice quality just to speed things up,” Xu Hao remarked.
“Brother Hao, that’s why you called me,” Zhu Qiang responded.
“Here’s the thing. I’ve drafted a proposal for constructing ancient-style guesthouses near Oasis 2. If you’re free tomorrow, come over with President Luo and we can discuss it.”
“Hmm? So you already have a plan for the guesthouses over there?”
At the mention, Zhu Qiang’s voice brightened with excitement.
He had been eager to hear any proposals for the guesthouses – more guesthouses mean a lasting boost in Hongsha Gang Village’s capacity.
Without guesthouses, everything is just idle talk.
“I’ve got a plan!”
“No problem. I’ll head over with President Luo tomorrow,” Zhu Qiang assured him.
“Good. See you tomorrow – and be sure to get some rest. Don’t overdo it!”
“I’m fine. See you tomorrow,” came the reply.
Time flew by, and before long, two days had passed.
After seeing Han Xiaoqing and the class students off to the bus bound for Lanshi Airport, Xu Hao finally arrived at the county government building. “Xu County!”
“Secretary Wang!”
After exchanging pleasantries, the leaders of Mingsha County settled into the conference room, with Xu Hao taking the third seat.
Though he was a temporary official, his rank was unmistakable.
“Xu County, about the promotional video – I’ve already coordinated with Wei City TV and there shouldn’t be any issues,” said Wang Xun as he looked at Xu Hao.
“Secretary, we’ve arranged for a different TV station to handle it this time, not Wei City,” Xu Hao admitted.
“Already sorted?”
Wang Xun and the others were taken aback.
“Yes, Yan City TV! Even though it’s a midnight slot, its viewership should surpass Wei City’s.”
“Yan City TV? Excellent, Xu County! Who would have imagined that Mingsha County’s promotional video could land on such a platform?”
At the mention of the TV station, Wang Xun and the other county leaders couldn’t help but give Xu Hao a thumbs up, admiring his connections even more.
They never expected that Xu Hao could secure a deal with Yan City TV.
For them, Yan City TV wasn’t just another channel – it’s Capital TV. Getting Mingsha County’s video on Capital TV is no small feat.
“Must be good luck! By the way, Secretary, you mentioned a meeting in the province earlier. What’s it about?”
Xu Hao didn’t elaborate and simply asked, “What meeting?”
“Oh, here’s the scoop!”
Switching to business, Wang Xun quickly briefed him about the Su Province Tourism Festival.
“Tourism Festival?”
“Xu County, you’re one of us, so I won’t sugarcoat it. The Tourism Festival has become a hot potato. Initially, I wanted Old Qin to attend, but I was worried he couldn’t shoulder the pressure from other counties. That’s why I hoped you could lead the team. If any other city tries to offload this onto us, we must find a way to refuse.”
Wang Xun looked earnestly at Xu Hao.
“Exactly – it’s all on you this time! And don’t get me wrong, it’s not that the county doesn’t support hosting the Tourism Festival. It’s just that diving into this mess wastes resources and energy for little benefit.”
Off to the side, Qin Xuan quickly chimed in,
“I know. Even if the Tourism Festival were still popular, our Hongsha Gang Village at 256 simply doesn’t have the capacity!”
After a moment’s thought, Xu Hao nodded.
Right now, Qing Brick Avenue in the desert is still under construction, and no new guesthouses have been added. Forget about the Su Province Tourism Festival – even a lower-tier event is beyond our current capacity.
Taking on this additional project might actually derail our original plans.
Hongsha Gang Village 256 needs to build up its reputation and visitor numbers gradually – you can’t gulp down a feast in one go.
Most importantly, if everything goes wrong, it won’t just tarnish our public image but will also hurt Su Province’s reputation.
So, everything that Wang Xun and Qin Xuan said was spot on.
“Then Xu County and Old Qin, get ready! Tomorrow we’ll take a special vehicle to Lanshi, and the official ceremony at Ningwozhuang in Lanshi is set for the day after tomorrow,” Wang Xun instructed.
“Alright!”
Xu Hao glanced at Qin Xuan and immediately nodded in agreement.
Meanwhile, in Haishi at the Tianchen Culture Headquarters, Yang Yuan’s expression darkened as he reviewed the plan.
“This landscaping proposal? How can it compare to what’s in Mingsha County? And the quoted cost is a staggering twenty million.”
Ever since Yang Yuan noticed that Xu Hao’s Oasis 1 had been overtaken by wild grass, he contacted Qi Haoyong. Qi promised to draft an alternative plan, but the proposal delivered today fell far short – it simply couldn’t match the level of greenery over there.
