Superconductor technicians are possibly one of the most popular professions.

Because superconductor technicians are just too cool!

Their core extranormal ability, “Stellar Superconductor”, is truly magical not only does it enhance the whole body, but it also boosts strength, defense, and speed significantly.

Most importantly, it grants extrahumans a high stellar energy conversion efficiency, working nearly without any loss, like the zero electrical resistance in superconductors.

This ability allows superconductor technicians to master various creative energy extranormal abilities.

High temperatures, low temperatures, lightning, air currents, sound, light they can seamlessly switch between these energy forms and applications.

They also have an exceptional extranormal ability called “Fusion Reaction”. It controls the overlay and fusion of two or more different energies, powerful and capable of unexpected effects much like a fantasy magician.

By combining these abilities, the combat effectiveness of superconductor technicians is very comprehensive.

Close combat, ranged attacks, speed, control, burst strength.

Superconductor technicians excel in these areas. In the ADC’s rating system, they score 52 points, surpassing most other profession templates.

Being strong is temporary, but being cool is forever.

Not to mention, superconductor technicians are both strong and cool, so it’s no surprise they’re among the most popular extrahuman professions.

Ji Xinghuo used to watch a lot of cool superconductor technician videos as a kid, and was very into this profession template for a while, often dreaming about becoming one someday.

However, as he grew up, his interests changed, and gradually he forgot about it.

Seeing a superconductor technician now, Ji Xinghuo feels somewhat nostalgic but doesn’t particularly yearn for it.

    “I’m now a Magnetism Fiend.”

“Not only am I stronger, but I’ll continue to be cooler than you in the future!”

    Ji Xinghuo consoles himself.

Watching the End-Peak Hunting Group departing, he thinks of something else they must be nearby, otherwise, they wouldn’t have arrived so quickly.

The End-Peak Hunting Group is not only strong but also very efficient in their searches.

Their large group of beasts spread out like vacuum cleaners, sweeping through the area much more efficiently than other extrahumans.

    “I need to hurry up.”

Ji Xinghuo turns towards an area he hasn’t searched yet.

He never revisits places he has already scanned with his magnetic field sensor, and by now, he has searched over 80 square kilometers since yesterday.

The area where the meteorite fell covers about 300 square kilometers he plans to search half of it today.

As he searches, he tries to avoid others.

Yet, by nightfall, Ji Xinghuo hasn’t found the “Star’s Tear”, and more extrahumans are appearing, all fruitlessly searching like him.

“Could it not be in this area?”

    Ji Xinghuo starts to doubt.

Another possibility is that the Star’s Tear has already been found whoever did may be keeping quiet about their fortune, perhaps having already left.

However, with so many extrahumans and hunting teams watching, ifsomeone had discovered the Star’s Tear and hastily left, they would undoubtedly be suspected.

“It seems no one has left today.”

Ji Xinghuo recalls and notes no one acting suspiciously.

He looks at other searching extrahumans and decides to keep going, not resting tonight. With this night and the whole next day, he should be able to cover the entire area. If he doesn’t find the Star’s Tear by then, he’ll leave without wasting more time.

As more people gather, the likelihood of conflicts increases.

There haven’t been any findings of the Star’s Tear today, yet there have already been three violent conflicts, all between different teams. Two extrahumans have died.

He prefers not to get involved in such turmoil.

    The night passes.

Ji Xinghuo only rests his eyes for a little over half an hour. When the golden dawn lights up the Peak Valley, it almost hurts his eyes. His physical condition is still good, but he feels mentally exhausted.

    “Keep going!”

“Only about fifty to sixty square kilometers left.”

Ji Xinghuo has a quick snack and drink of water. Little Green Snake, who emerges from his pocket, looks up at him with golden eyes showing slight displeasure.

It has already eaten all the food stored the day before yesterday.

“It’s the last day, just hold on,” Ji Xinghuo cajoles. “You might be crucial today I’ve been raising you for so long; it’s time you were useful.”

Little Green Snake seems to consider this and nods before slipping back into the pocket.

    Noon approaches.

Ji Xinghuo reaches the foot of a mountain.

It’s lively here, as there’s a small lake at the mountain’s base, about four to five hundred meters long and wide, with a depth of several meters. Two or three small streams flow into the lake, making the water clear. The shoreline sports a broad, lush meadow where many hunting teams have set up camp, collected water, washed up, and rested.

The lake teems with fish, which are sizable and swim about.

Where there’s fish, there are anglers.

Ji Xinghuo spots several extrahumans sitting by the lakeside, apparently out hunting but carrying fishing rods and bait. They selected their fishing spots early in the morning, cutting wood for seats, and sat there, immobile, waiting for a bite.

Those without fishing rods improvised with branches and joined the anglers.

Someone has already caught a fish, cooking it over a fire on the shore.

Others are bathing and swimming in the lake…

Tents, fishing, barbecues, swimming to anyone unaware of the circumstances, it would seem like a casual weekend camping trip.

Little Green Snake, smelling the fish, pokes its head out again, its eyes full of anticipation.

    Ji Xinghuo looks resigned.

    “Alright then.”

He’s hungry too, and this area hasn’t been searched. He’ll make a couple of grilled fish for the snake and scan the surroundings with his magnetic field sensor while he’s at it.

He walks to a less crowded part of the lakeside, where Wanxiang Star Pupil notice a large fish in the water.

This lake has been searched by extrahumans, including the lakebed if the Star’s Tear were here, it wouldn’t be Ji Xinghuo’s turn to find it.

That’s what everyone thinks, so the lakeside has ironically become a relatively safe place.

Ji Xinghuo doesn’t have a fishing rod, but he has other means.

He takes out an arrow, ties a nanofiber rope to its tail, positions it on his bow, and aims at a fish in the lake. As he sweeps the area with his magnetic field sensor, he locks onto a fish over half a meter long, about to shoot when his expression subtly changes. He turns his head to look at another large fish not far away.

It’s quietly hidden among the lakebed weeds, over a meter long, half its body concealed by mud, hard to detect even upon close inspection.

Fish like this are numerous in the lake and usually not noteworthy.

However, its magnetic field is strange!

Ji Xinghuo senses that its magnetic field is very different from other fish’s as if two magnetic fields are superimposed the smaller one is the fish’s natural biological field, but there’s another, hundreds of times larger, centered inside its body. The distribution of its magnetic lines is highly regular and intense.

There’s something inside the big fish!

    The Star’s Tear?

Ji Xinghuo’s heart races as he speculates. Did the Star’s Tear fall into this lake and then get swallowed by this large fish?

No wonder no one has found it.

A meteor falling to Earth would surely leave a clear trace, knocking down trees, starting fires, and creating craters in the ground.

However, until now, no one has found a crater caused by a meteor.

It turns out it fell into the water.

In this several-hundred-square-kilometer area, there are many such small lakes, as well as streams and rivers, which people have searched multiple times already.

It’s not that no one has thought that the Star’s Tear might have been eaten by a fish.

But the lakes are full of fish to catch and dissect them all would take too long, might kill them all too quickly, and could waste time allowing others to get a lead. If everyone continues to not find the Star’s Tear, undoubtedly some will resort to this method.

“Lucky me to find such a bargain!”

Ji Xinghuo quickly composes himself and turns the bow in another direction, away from the large fish.

    Thwack!

An arrow shoots into the water but misses its target.

Several nearby extrahumans glance his way, seeing Ji Xinghuo pulling the arrow back with the nanofiber rope, his face slightly embarrassed. They pay him no further attention.

Trying to shoot fish with a bow is not uncommon because of light refraction; it’s not easy to hit on the first try.

Ji Xinghuo tries several more arrows, missing each time.

“Move away a bit when shooting, don’t scare my fish,” says the nearest angler, clearly displeased.

Ji Xinghuo ignores him and shoots another arrow into the lake.

    “You…”

The angler gets a bit angry, grabs his fishing rod to stand up and start scolding, but sees Ji Xinghuo pulling on the nanofiber rope, clearly having hit something.

A large fish flounders as it’s pulled to the shore; the arrow strikes right through its cheek.

    “Heh, heh…”

Ji Xinghuo grins smugly at the angler.

    “Dumb luck!”

“Using a bow to shoot fish has no soul…”

The angler grumbles under his breath, sits down again, baits his hook and casts his line, though his eyes can’t help but drift towards Ji Xinghuo it’s rare for him to catch such a large fish too. If it had been him, he’d have paraded around the lake with it.

Ji Xinghuo inserts a tactical knife into the fish’s head, ending its life with no more struggle.

Then he proceeds to clean the fish as usual.

He scales the fish, opens its belly, and begins gutting it. His hand reaches inside the fish’s stomach and touches something hard, about the size of a table tennis ball. The surface is smooth and even but has several sharp edges, feeling like a cut gem.

From this close range, Ji Xinghuo has already confirmed before killing the fish that it was the Star’s Tear.

His eyes focus as etheric energy concentrates in the fish’s stomach, causing intense fluctuations, even forming an energy vortex invisible to the naked eye.

Immediately, a massive surge of energy floods into his arm.

Because the energy is too fierce and overwhelming, his body can’t handle it his entire arm experiences a piercing pain, as if he’s holding a red-hot steel ingot, unbearably hot, forcing him to let go.

Only super extrahumans and higher can absorb the Star’s Tear.

    “Incredible!”

As if nothing happened, Ji Xinghuo pulls his hand back and continues cleaning the fish, leaving the Star’s Tear inside its stomach.

With his back to the angler and no one else paying attention, he quickly stuffs a prepared cloth into the fish’s belly, wraps it up, then grabs it, pretends to reach for some seasoning in his backpack, and sneakily slips the Star’s Tear into his pack.

The whole process takes just three or four seconds, attracting no attention.

Ji Xinghuo finally breathes a sigh of relief.

    “Can’t leave just yet.”

“Need to delay a bit longer, at least until I’ve cooked this fish. If you’re going to play a part, play it well.”

Ji Xinghuo finishes cleaning the fish, carries the cleaned fish meat to the lakeside, gathers some firewood from the nearby forest, and starts a fire on the shore to begin grilling the fish.

He turns the fish, seasons it, and soon the aroma wafts through the air.

    Everything appears normal.

Once the fish is cooked, Ji Xinghuo quickly devours it, enjoying a satisfying meal. Since he can’t finish such a large fish, he packs up the leftovers, planning to feed them to Little Green Snake when no one is around. Then he casually lies down on the lakeside grass, pretending to sleep a bit before leaving.

    Suddenly, the ground trembles.

The people by the lake turn to look as a large group of wild beasts and monsters break through the forest to the lakeside.

In the sky, giant beaked pterodactyls and Silver Winged Pegasuses land on the grass, blood crows settle in nearby trees, leaving only five hawks soaring above, continuing their ground surveillance.

    “Quite a show…”

The extrahumans by the lake have no choice but to retreat, clearing a large space for them.

Beastmasters and superconductor technicians dismount from the Silver Winged Pegasuses. Members of the End-Peak Hunting Group also descend from the pterodactyls. They busily set out portable tables and chairs, arrange food and drinks, and direct their war beasts to take turns drinking at the lake and feeding all is orderly, clearly a routine for them.

Some nearby hunting teams don’t want to be too close to the End-Peak Hunting Group and quickly pack up to leave.

Ji Xinghuo casts a lingering glance, hoists his backpack, and leaves the lakeside, soon disappearing into the forest and out of sight of the lakeside extrahumans.

Several hundred meters away, a superconductor technician watches Ji Xinghuo’s departing figure, a hint of doubt in his eyes.

    “Hong Ge, what’s up?”

The female beastmaster next to him notices his strange expression and asks.

Pei Hong shakes his head slightly, uncertainly saying: “That ranger just now his etheric fluctuations were a bit strange, but he was too far away, I couldn’t be sure. Maybe I saw it wrong.”
