Chapter Index

Even though each wave had only twenty-four quantum bombs.

And those twenty-four bombs could destroy only a few dozen warships per volley.

And honestly, losing a few dozen ships meant nothing when you had a fleet of fifty thousand.

But the problem was, when those bombs hit, nothing was left. Not even dust. It was as if the ships had been erased from existence, and that sight alone was enough to terrify everyone.

So once the order came from above for all ships to spread out immediately…

    Chaos erupted.

Suddenly, some ships were less than ten kilometers apart. Just shifting the engines a bit could mean…

If anyone made the slightest mistake, they could crash in an instant, couldn’t they?

Not to mention, in their panic, the Blue-Eye crew had their engines running full throttle, desperate to escape.

Near-misses and even chain collisions broke out everywhere.

And with wave after wave of quantum bombs raining down, the panic only kept escalating.

Some ships even tried to smash straight through the blockade ahead, ramming everything in their way.

And what did that lead to…?

Naturally, mutual destruction. Ships lost, crews gone.

With the speed and mass of these warships, after all.

Even a minor collision could have catastrophic results.

“Commander, we’ve identified the enemy flagship!”

“Bring up the main guns. Take it out.”

    “Yes, Commander!”

The Blue-Eye formation was in total chaos, and without tight protection, their flagship stood out in the open.

It was instantly spotted by the radar operator, and the weapons officer, Meng Fei, quickly locked onto it with both main guns.

And then slammed the launch button.

    ——

    At that same moment.

    Aboard the Blue-Eye flagship.

Labeil stared at his fleet’s chaos, too stunned to react.

The enemy’s barrage had only cost him a few hundred ships so far.

But now, in just under a minute, because of the panic, countless Blue-Eye warships had crashed into each other—over a thousand gone in an instant?

If his people were a bit more cultured, they’d probably be cursing out loud right now.

But before Labeil could even issue an order to try to salvage things…

A sudden panicked cry went up from one of the bridge operators.

“Detected high-energy readings, heading right for us—”

He never finished his sentence. There simply wasn’t time.

The distance was half a million kilometers. After the Houyi fired its main cannon, it took less than two seconds to hit.

One shell punched right through the bridge; the other tore into the engine compartment.

In the next instant, the massive ship exploded, turning into a fireball.

This only made the already frantic battlefield spiral into deeper chaos.

Many ships stopped caring about anything except cranking their engines to full, desperate to get away.

But in such a crowded formation, and with the panic in the air…

Ninety-nine out of every hundred ships never made it far, crashing into each other on the way.

Worse still, the mounting wrecks blocked escape routes, while smaller debris flew everywhere like railgun slugs, tearing into anything nearby.

Fifty thousand warships were now locked in a vicious cycle with no end in sight.

Meanwhile, the newly arrived Ziyang Empire reinforcements could hardly believe their eyes.

Wait a second, wasn’t the captain just saying the enemy had fifty thousand ships and we were doomed if we went out there?

So why do all these Blue-Eye lizards look like they’re playing bumper cars and self-destructing?

But hey, does that mean we actually have a shot at surviving this?

“Captain, what exactly is going on now?”

“I’m not sure, but His Majesty did tell us that someone would be helping us in this battle. They’re the ones who gave us these Seawolf-class ships. I don’t know what tricks they’ve pulled, but it must be them.”

“So, what do we do now?”

“Stick to the plan. Use the wrecks ahead for cover and pave a path for the next wave of ships.”

    “Understood, Captain!”

On one side, under the Houyi’s relentless assault, the Blue-Eye fleet was thrown into chaos, suffering not just traffic jams but chain collisions of epic proportions.

On the other, with the Blue-Eye blockade gone…

Wave after wave of Imperial warships poured into the interstellar current mouth, building a defensive line to cover the steady arrival of more ships.

Once they had enough numbers, they launched an all-out attack on the disorganized enemy.

    ——

It was a massacre, plain and simple.

Labeil never imagined that the ultra-dense formation he’d arranged against the Ziyang Imperial fleet would actually trigger his army’s collapse.

Nor did he understand where that mysterious warship had come from, or what kind of weapon it was using.

It was like a power that could erase anything. Nothing could stand in its way.

That kind of weaponry was simply terrifying.

Of course, none of that mattered to him now. He didn’t last long once the fighting started.

With the Blue-Eye fleet leaderless, chaos erupted. The battlefield became a giant demolition derby, and the Houyi systematically sniped whatever was left, completely shattering their command.

By the time more Imperial warships arrived and joined the fight…

There was no way things could ever turn around.

“Commander, in this battle, we used a total of 1,981 quantum bombs, destroying over 7,493 enemy ships.”

“We’re not sure about the exact figures for the Ziyang Empire, but they must have taken out at least twenty thousand enemy ships, most of which were lost to the chaos. A few surrendered, but they were later executed by the Ziyang Empire.”

On the Houyi, George began reporting the statistics.

“Against this kind of enemy—packed in tight, especially in ultra-dense formations—quantum bombs really shine. Fear amplifies chaos, but if the enemies were more spread out, the psychological effect wouldn’t be nearly as strong.”

    Lin Yu nodded in agreement.

One shell wiping out several ships at once versus only destroying one at a time…

The difference in what you see is worlds apart.

And what people see often determines how they feel in battle.

“George, check if Tuoba has any new intel—preferably battles that aren’t at the interstellar current mouth. I want to test more possibilities!”

“Hmm, come to think of it, there actually is something promising…”

George paused to think over Lin Yu’s request, then suddenly remembered something.

He quickly looked up and spoke.

    Chapter Summary
