Chapter Index

With both Vermilion Divine Birds safely secured aboard the warship, Song Chi finally felt completely at ease.

Centering a temporary red-sealed module and working alongside the Flamewrath Giant, One-Eyed Troll, Doomstar Race of the Sixth Tier, Fire Drakesaur, and Dragondemon—these five sixth-tier creatures—he methodically began eliminating the other sixth-tier beasts within the Spirit Beast Sanctuary.

    ……

    Spirit Beast Sanctuary, Northernmost Wilds.

    Awoooo!

With a mournful howl, a sixth-tier Direwolf of the Wilds was pummeled half to death by a group of six-tier enslaved beasts before a beam of ‘True Immortal Quantum Blade’ from the Heavenly Ruin, hovering high above, finished it off for good.

At that very moment, a smile crept onto Song Chi’s face as he stood on the bridge.

This sixth-tier Direwolf provided a full 5% boost to the Heavenly Ruin’s ascension success rate.

    [Warship Ascension Mission (Heavenly Ruin)]

    [Current Ascension Success Rate: 78.51%]

[Special Resource Formula for Ascension (2/2): Millennia Ice Mother Stone x1, Intermediate Space Law Crystal x1]

[Additional Ascension Resources: Sixth-Tier Doomstar Blood (14%), Peak Sixth-Tier Evil God Blood (12%), Standard Sovereign Blood (1%)]

[Baptism in Exotic Blood: Sixth-Tier Direwolf of the Wilds (5%), Sixth-Tier Starblood Bat (5%), …]

Now that the Direwolf was added to the tally, the success rate for ascension was nearing 80%. But right as it approached that mark, Song Chi’s smile faded.

Once the rate passed 80%, even if he kept killing more sixth-tier beasts, the gains would start to halve further.

But that didn’t stop Song Chi. Over the next two months, he hunted down several more sixth-tier monsters, dozens of fifth-tier creatures, and even more from the fourth tier.

    ……

High above the Spirit Beast Sanctuary, within the quiet, hovering Heavenly Ruin, Song Chi gently shook his head.

Time slipped by, and now only the final twenty-some days remained. Though the high-tier beasts had all been cleared out and the ascension rate breached 90%, it was just barely enough.

    [Current Ascension Success Rate: 92.81%]

Not even 93%—Song Chi knew that still wasn’t good enough.

“No way, that’s not safe at all. It doesn’t have to hit 98% or 99%, but I need at least 95%!”

Muttering to himself, his gaze drifted toward the rear engine bay.

More precisely, he stared at the Sixth-Tier Doomstar slave, the one under the Abyssal Devil’s command.

But in the end, he just shook his head, took one last glance over the entire Spirit Beast Sanctuary below, and recalled the ship, heading back to the Market.

    ……

    [Divine Realm Player Trading Space]

At the central mission platform, the most eye-catching quest on the screen was still the one Song Chi posted recently as the Lord of the Divine Realm, buying up large quantities of fifth-tier slave beasts.

[Lord of the Divine Realm: High-Price Acquisition of Fifth-Tier Slave Beasts of All Tribes]

{Mission Rewards: Each fifth-tier slave beast can be exchanged for one of the following rewards, by choice.

    2 strands of Sixth-Tier Floating-Land Origin / 3 Orange Oddities / [Squad Upgrade Scroll x1] / 400 Divine Realm Points

    Hand over three at once to pick any Red Oddity of your choice from the rewards shop.}

Below this task, a steady trickle of transaction records could be seen.

Naturally, the person with the biggest haul was Levann from a dominant civilization, providing as many as thirty different fifth-tier slave beasts.

Second on the list took Song Chi by surprise—it wasn’t a Fourth-Tier Night Elf matriarch from the Crescent Moon Tribe, or the recently-seen Fifth-Tier Ice Giant, or even Deguen, supported by the Northern Sea Court. Instead, it was a Fourth-Tier Half-Rat who mostly dealt in source stones.

“Eighteen fifth-tier slave beasts… I really underestimated that guy!”

After a brief consideration, Song Chi didn’t dwell on it. Activating his Lord rights, he transferred over a hundred fifth-tier slave beasts, submitted by players and locked away in a corner prison of the Trading Space, straight into the Omniverse Market.

At the same time, he canceled the high-value buyout mission.

He still had some assets in hand, but money couldn’t just be burned. Acquiring these hundred-plus fifth-tier slaves had cost nearly thirty Red Oddities.

Those epic-quality Oddities took a century to slowly accumulate; spending that many at once meant he’d have no idea how long it would take to refill the stock.

More than a hundred fifth-tier lives—enough to push the ascension rate past 95%.

    ……

Omniverse Market. The Heavenly Ruin floated above, cannons methodically clearing out the hundred-odd fifth-tier slave beasts below, shell by careful shell.

Song Chi held back from using his heaviest weapons, worried about damaging the Market below.

By the second day, after all the slave beasts had been eliminated, he checked the Heavenly Ruin’s ascension rate again and, at last, saw success—95.65%.

    ……

Dragon Spine Sacred Mountain, No.1 Inheritance Warship Bay.

As the Heavenly Ruin docked, No.1 warship—its arrival pre-arranged—instantly fired off twelve streaks of radiance.

Seeing this, Song Chi carefully uninstalled every precious gold and silver component except for the Black Hole Evolution Layer, ensuring nothing was damaged.

Ten days later, once the second round of Core-Spirit Light surged through, every single gold and silver part on the Heavenly Ruin had been safely removed, including the Destiny Compass.

Before removal, Song Chi made sure to activate the Destiny Compass’s ‘Compass · Return to Origins’ ability, breaking down the lv60 Black Hole Evolution Layer to its base lv0 plus reclaiming all resources previously used for enhancements.

Because of quality limitations, the Tri-Eye Spirit-Lock Ring could only safely remove gold-grade parts, not the Black Hole Evolution Layer. But the Destiny Compass could handle it perfectly, problem solved.

With all critical modules safely uninstalled, Song Chi didn’t hesitate—he initiated the Heavenly Ruin’s formal ascension process.

“Nearly 96%… this HAS to work!” he prayed, pressing the upgrade button.

Standing on the observation deck far outside the bay, Song Chi watched as the entire hull was bathed in light, struggling to maintain a stoic expression.

Beyond Bay No.1, Song Wujian and Song Xingru also waited, just as anxious.

By now, Song Chi had become one of the very core members of the family. Naturally, the entire leadership was paying close attention to this breakthrough.

The upgrade lasted hours. The moment the warship began expanding rapidly, Song Chi couldn’t hold back anymore—his face was all smiles.

Outside the bay, Song Wujian and Song Xingru were grinning too. But instead of disturbing him, they quietly slipped away.

They understood—the ship’s promotion may have succeeded, but the captain’s work had just begun. Best not to interrupt now.

    Hiss—

The hatch opened. Song Chi dashed inside.

Now fully promoted to battleship class, the Heavenly Ruin’s length exploded to 14,000 meters—just a bit longer than a typical capital ship.

He reinstalled all previously removed modules, even re-upgrading the Black Hole Evolution Layer back to sixth tier. Then Song Chi eagerly pulled up the ship’s new stat panel.

    [Eln-Energy Bank: 2,000,000/2,000,000]

[Supplies: Immortal Spear, Yan Shen Divine Sword, 7 Dominion Souls, …]

First he checked the core modules: after becoming a battleship, the Heavenly Ruin now had six extra turret slots—two main battery slots and four secondary ones.

The second super main battery slot, though, only comes with dreadnoughts.

On to the special modules: With the hull advancing to lv50, available module slots jumped to 142. Even with the current configuration, only 83 were in use—leaving 59 slots open.

Still, Song Chi knew the real issue was that most red and silver modules only needed one slot each. When he eventually got more parts that required four or five slots, those remaining slots would be eaten up fast.

Browsing through the upgrades, Song Chi’s attention drifted among several modules.

Now that the ship had advanced to battleship class, its modules could all be pushed to tier seven.

At the moment, he had seven Dominion Souls, enough Seventh‑Tier Floating-land Origin, and plenty of Titanite Crystal. It was finally time to decide which seven modules deserved to be pushed to lv70.

He could also extract more Dominion Souls from Chasing Fate Immortal’s memory shards, but that would take time. For now, he could empower just seven modules.

First, he reinstalled the previously removed Soul-Annihilating Iris Beam and brought it back to lv60, quickly deciding on the order for the first four upgrades.

His most powerful current weapon—the Divine Thunder Cannon, which could even convert into a Star-Annihilator Cannon—was the obvious first pick.

Next came the super main battery Myriad-Spirit Annihilation Bow, the hull’s Neutron-Star Core Armor, and the golden sanctuary-class Yin-Yang Counter-Phase Annihilation Shield.

Because these four modules had only just reached lv69, upgrading them now cost him four bundles of Seventh‑Tier Floating-land Origin plus four Dominion Souls, along with over a thousand Titanite Crystals and hundreds of Law Stones.

Empowering these four brought a phenomenal boost to the warship’s stats. After all, as a battleship, its bonuses to core modules shot up from 200% to 300%, and stacking on the modules’ own improvements, the numbers were terrifying.

Let’s take the Myriad-Spirit Annihilation Bow, the super main cannon.

    Myriad-Spirit Annihilation Bow lv70

    Quality: Silver

    Trait: Power Increase 320%

    Trait 2: Twin Orb Arrow

    Trait 3: True Armor-Piercing

    Trait 4: Life-bane Arrow

Consumption: 60,000 per shot (Eln-Energy Units)

    Attack: 121.5 billion

    ……

At lv69, its firepower barely broke ten billion. But now it had surged beyond one hundred billion—an increase of more than tenfold.

Now the golden sanctuary-level Yin-Yang Counter-Phase Annihilation Shield.

    Yin-Yang Counter-Phase Annihilation Shield lv70

    Quality: Gold

    Trait: Two-Modes Damage Reduction

    Trait 2: True Shield

Trait 3: Stacked Energy Shield Value +290%

Trait 4: Stacked Defense Value +290%

    Trait 5: Yin-Yang Regeneration

    Consumption: 4,000/s (Eln-Energy Units)

    Defense: 34.8 billion

    Shield Capacity: 1.4 trillion / 1.4 trillion

Charge: 10s; Overload Recovery: 30 minutes

    ……

Its capacity now soared to 1.4 trillion, over ten times what it once was.

After those four, Song Chi refocused on the special modules.

He quickly locked in the final three upgrades: Black Hole Evolution Layer, Destiny Compass, and Last Aegis.

He would’ve liked to upgrade the Pusa Zen Seal and Angel King’s Authority Wings, but he just didn’t have enough Sand of Time or high-grade Angel’s Blood.

    Chapter Summary

Song Chi uses a combination of rare beasts and resources to push Heavenly Ruin’s ascension success rate for battleship evolution, acquiring over a hundred fifth-tier slave beasts through the Divine Realm Trading Space. After careful module management and upgrades, he achieves a near-perfect success rate. The ascension succeeds, expanding Heavenly Ruin’s size and capabilities significantly. Song Chi then focuses on prioritizing critical module upgrades, pushing the warship’s strength to new heights with advanced technologies and devastating firepower, preparing for battles to come.
