Chapter 546: Glimpse of the Beidou Main Hall
by xennovelJust like the Yaoguang Star Tower, the Beidou Sevenstar Hall sits atop the Civilization Wall. In fact, the entire Beidou Seven Towers and the Sevenstar Hall are all located on this magnificent, multicolored myth-grade artifact, though they’re spread across different Star Domains.
Song Chi and the others didn’t get a chance to leave the Star-Chaser Moonrider, but since he was near a window, Song Chi managed to steal a brief, breathtaking glance at the legendary Beidou Main Hall.
Unlike the Yaoguang Star Tower, the Beidou Main Hall looked more like an ancient palace. Brilliant starlight wrapped around it, casting the whole structure into the image of a celestial temple.
Surrounding this ancient hall stood seven tall towers. Like stars circling around the moon, these seven sub-towers clustered around the Hall, adding a veil of mystery to its ancient majesty.
But just as quickly as it came, that moment was gone. The Star-Chaser Moonrider streaked forward at incredible speed, bursting from a spatial passage straight into the heart of the main hall, leaving Song Chi with only that fleeting glimpse.
As the ship plunged into the hall, Song Chi suddenly felt the Moonrider shrink—otherwise, with a hull spanning tens of thousands of kilometers, there was no way it would look so small inside the hall.
Before he could dwell on it, the Moonrider soared to a high platform on the right side of the hall bathed in dense starlight.
Watching this unfold, Song Chi couldn’t help but speculate.
“Does the Beidou Sevenstar Hall come with its own teleportation system?”
Just as the thought crossed his mind, a wave of severe dizziness washed over him.
The world tilted and spun in a way he couldn’t even describe.
Once his head finally cleared, Song Chi realized the Moonrider now floated in a pitch-black starry sky. Off to the side, he quickly caught sight of three colossal battleships, each with a size that left him awestruck.
A million kilometers long—eighth-tier Torch Battleships, the legendary Star River-class.
When it came to Torch Battleships above the seventh-tier Star-Annihilator-class, Song Chi only knew that the eighth level meant Star River-class. The records said their lifespans could break three hundred thousand years, as long as the Torch Human Civilization itself. As for ninth-tier… his clan’s databases had nothing on that.
No doubt the Clan Elders had the answers, but Song Chi had never asked. Even Star-Annihilator-class ships felt hopelessly out of reach for him, let alone those at the eighth or ninth tier.
Pulling his gaze from the distant Star River-class ships, Song Chi’s attention drifted back to the Beidou Main Hall.
He muttered to himself in his heart:
“So it really is point-to-point teleportation? If that’s the case, the Beidou Sevenstar Hall must also be a multicolored myth-grade Starsea Oddity!”
Having spent years in the Yaoguang Star Tower, Song Chi knew a thing or two about it. In his mind, the tower itself was likely a black supreme-grade Oddity, at the very least, if not something even rarer than gold grade.
Based on that, he’d always wondered about the Sevenstar Hall’s nature—seven sub-towers, after all! But until now, he couldn’t be certain it really was a multicolored myth-grade artifact.
Today’s pinpoint teleportation, and the backlash so strong that even his fifth-tier peak Guiding Technique was pushed to its limits, convinced him at last. Now he was sure: the Beidou Sevenstar Hall was definitely a multicolored myth-grade Oddity.
Of course, he had no way to tell what rank within the colored myth-level—lower, upper, or utmost. That was still unclear.
Lost in thought, Song Chi realized the Star-Chaser Moonrider was drawing close to those three Star River-class ships.
“Is the one in the center the Beidou Main Hall’s Star River-class?”
As the Moonrider approached, Song Chi murmured to himself. This time, though, Whitebrow beside him picked up on it.
A soft voice sounded in Song Chi’s ear, offering an explanation.
“The one in the middle is the Beidou Sevenstar Hall’s Star River, or rather, the Hall of Greedwolf. On the right is the Xian Qin Divine Dynasty’s Shang Party clan—the Pre-Qin Kingpillar. The leftmost is the Divine Federation’s Star River-class.”
Song Chi gave a gentle nod, the explanation only deepening his sense that Whitebrow’s background was far beyond what he’d imagined.
A dozen minutes later, Song Chi and about a dozen others were sent off the Moonrider.
With their internal energy still sealed, they’d have to stay here one day before they could formally enter the secret realm behind the three Star River-class ships.
It wasn’t just them. Ahead of each of the other two Star River-class ships, crews waited as well. Clearly, all three sides were rallying their people, not just the Beidou Sevenstar Hall.
Between what he’d already learned and Whitebrow’s recent explanation, Song Chi now knew these other two factions were anything but ordinary.
Never mind the Divine Federation’s ship—the Shang clan of the Xian Qin Divine Dynasty alone was a colossal powerhouse. Song Chi had looked up some facts ahead of time.
The Shang clan of Shang Party was one of the original families who’d helped the Ying clan establish the Xian Qin Divine Dynasty, a true old-guard family. Their line had already stretched for over two hundred thousand years. It was said that just those Star River-class ships known publicly numbered three, making them top-tier among even the undying giants.
Comparing the Shang clan and the Beidou Sevenstar Hall, it was obvious: the Divine Federation’s Star River-class left no room to underestimate either.
Song Chi had expected a quiet day, keeping his head down before these three Star River-class bigshots. He never imagined an unexpected incident would soon unfold—and he would be at the very center of it.
This time, the drama had everything to do with him.
It all started with a male member of the Shang clan, who strode toward them.
That man’s energy was sealed just like theirs, so Song Chi couldn’t read much about him. But the man’s purpose was clear—he headed straight for Whitebrow.
“Little Mei! You took the mission too?”
Seeing the broad smile on his face, Song Chi initially guessed he and Whitebrow were close. Then Whitebrow’s already cold expression grew even frostier.
When the Shang clan man greeted her, Whitebrow barely bothered to turn away, making it clear she wasn’t interested in responding at all.
That wouldn’t have caused much fuss—until the man, ignoring Whitebrow’s obvious dislike, shamelessly sidled up to her as if he meant to make some move.
Up until now, Song Chi had done nothing, but this was the last straw. He stepped forward with his right leg, firmly blocking the man’s way.
He didn’t say a word—just stood his ground, refusing to back down.
The Shang clan man’s smile vanished the moment he faced Song Chi. His expression soured as he snapped:
“Who do you think you are? How dare you stop me?”
This time, Song Chi didn’t hold back. Without giving an inch, he shot back with biting irony:
“You really ought to know when to quit. She obviously wants nothing to do with you—why keep making a spectacle of yourself?”
Having said that, Song Chi met the man’s glare with an ice-cold stare of his own.
By now, the man—Shang Jie’s—eyes were filled with dark malice. In all his years, no one had ever dared speak to him that way.
Did they know who he was? Shang Jie, only son of a seventh-tier Star-Annihilator-class elder—their own ancestor was an eighth-tier Star River-class venerable! Since birth, he’d been treated with nothing but deference.
“Kid, this isn’t how you play the hero. Some people—are you sure you can really afford to offend them, even if you’re from the Yaoguang—”
Before he could finish, a terrifying pressure crashed onto Shang Jie. In the next instant, a force hurled him like a cannonball into the stars. Only the Shang clan’s Star River-class commander stepped in, retrieving him before things turned ugly.
“Greedwolf, that was too much…”
Clearly displeased by the Greedwolf Hall Master’s action, the Shang clan Star River-class captain’s deep voice rang out.
But the Greedwolf Hall Master from the Beidou Sevenstar Hall wasn’t backing down.
“Watch your tongue. We of the Beidou Sevenstar Hall fought and bled for the Torch Human Civilization while your Shang clan cowered in the rear, acting smug in your safe little corner!”
“Greedwolf!”
…
Just a few sharp words, but the two Star River-class captains looked ready to come to blows. Even as the focus of it, Song Chi felt his heart pounding—what if the two bigshots really went at it?
This was the Outer Domain, where the four Empires’ law against infighting didn’t apply. With his energy still sealed, Song Chi couldn’t summon his battleship or enter the Omniverse Market. If a real fight broke out, he’d be dead a hundred times over.
Thankfully, the Divine Federation’s Star River-class captain was there to mediate and keep the two from coming to blows.
Of course, most of this was just for show. If a Star River-class wanted to kill someone, even a careless leak of their aura would be enough to smash Shang Jie into paste.
In the end, it was just a deliberate lesson for a loud-mouthed, spoiled brat.
Song Chi felt Whitebrow cast him a glance. She might not have been able to say thank you, but in her gaze there was a hint of gratitude he could clearly feel.
With that small drama over, nothing else happened.
Soon enough, day two arrived.
Once the three captains released their energy seals, more and more Torch Battleships appeared throughout these starry reaches.
When the last of them had summoned their ships, the three Star River-class captains’ voices boomed out together.
“All right, head on in! Remember, the secret realm is dangerous. Above all, make sure you stay alive.”
These were the best youth their factions could offer—none of the three wanted to see needless deaths.
Everyone answered at once, and soon enough dozens of battleships shot toward the secret realm entrance.
When Song Chi’s turn came, Shang Jie was clearly waiting for him. As the Heavenly Ruin approached, Shang Jie swung his ship over with a deliberate slam.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
After the harsh metallic crunch, Shang Jie quickly rushed into the secret realm himself—apparently his only purpose was to throw down a challenge or provoke him.
In the control room, Song Chi’s lips curled into a sneer.
Thanks to his Dual Pupils, none of Shang Jie’s so-called subtle moves escaped Song Chi’s notice.
