Chapter Index

Zhao Qing glanced around the room.

    He realized he couldn’t escape.

His eyes fell back on the young man on the sofa.

It was clear this was the leader.

The young man, in his twenties, seemed to be staring at the TV screen, completely ignoring Zhao Qing.

“Brother, which group do you belong to…”

    “Bang!”

Before he could finish, the bodyguard behind him smashed a chair against him.

    “Ah!”

Zhao Qing screamed and fell to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

    “You interrupted my game.”

The young man glanced at the bodyguard who had struck.

The bodyguard lowered his head and stepped back.

Zhao Qing staggered up, wiped the blood from his mouth, too afraid to speak out.

“Do you like watching the game?”

The young man asked Zhao Qing.

Zhao Qing couldn’t figure out his intention, so he nodded, “It’s alright.”

He preferred watching women’s sports, but that might count.

    “Sit and watch together.”

The young man moved over, patting the spot beside him.

Zhao Qing looked at him warily, hesitated for a moment, then sat beside him.

There’s no point in being afraid since he’s already at their mercy.

Watching the soccer game without any goals made Zhao Qing sleepy; he truly didn’t see the appeal.

The worst part was this idiot was watching the national team.

Is there even a point in watching them?

You can guess the result without even watching.

When was the last time the national team won?

“I like Ronaldo, what about you? Who’s your favorite player?”

Just as Zhao Qing was dozing off, the young man spoke again.

Zhao Qing blurted out, “I’m a loyal fan of Liu Yan.”

    Everyone: “………..”

To express perversion in such a refined way is quite unique.

“You’re lying. You don’t like watching football.”

The young man curled his lips, looking at Zhao Qing.

“I never said I liked football; I thought you were a fan of Liu Yan too.”

Zhao Qing blinked, the nearly thirty-year-old man showing a foolish and naive look, offensive to the eyes.

    “Slap!”

The young man’s eyes were probably just as offended as he slapped Zhao Qing.

Feeling the burning pain on his face, Zhao Qing seethed with anger, glaring at the young man as he grabbed the fruit knife on the table.

    “Click!”

In an instant, the young man pulled out a handgun from nowhere and pointed it at his forehead.

“What do you want to do?”

The young man asked with a smile, looking at Zhao Qing.

Feeling the cold touch on his forehead.

Zhao Qing swallowed hard, forcing a stiff smile, picking up an apple with his left hand and eagerly saying:

“Big brother, I’ve been watching you watch the game for a while, you must be thirsty. I’ll cut you an apple. Experts say apples replenish vitamins A to G.”

His smile was as forced as it could be, his hand holding the knife trembling.

    “Bang!”

The young man’s face turned cold, hitting him on the forehead with the gun.

    “Ah!”

Zhao Qing screamed, a cut opened on his forehead, blood flowing down his cheek.

“You think I’m an idiot, right?”

The young man stood, looking down at Zhao Qing like a dead man.

“Who are you? At least let me know before I die, which group are you from?”

Zhao Qing asked the young man, covering his forehead with one hand, blood seeping through his fingers.

“I heard you used to be Xu Shaochen’s errand boy, doing dirty work for him. I’m curious, why not share your legendary life with me?”

The young man calmly placed a recorder on the table.

Zhao Qing was stunned as if struck by lightning.

    Now he understood.

These people weren’t here for him.

    They were after Xu Shaochen.

And they’d been watching him for a while.

Otherwise, how could it be so coincidental that after Zhou Xue left, they contacted her?

    “That wench Zhou Xue!”

Realizing this, Zhao Qing was filled with hatred for Zhou Xue.

    “Bang!”

The young man kicked him in the stomach.

    “Ugh.”

Zhao Qing groaned, clutching his stomach in pain.

“Speak up. Tell me all the shady things he made you do, and I’ll let you go. If not, I have ways to make you talk.”

The young man looked down at Zhao Qing, his expression icy, eyes full of intent to kill.

“Mr. Xu is a legitimate businessman. He’s never asked me to do anything… Oh, wait, he asked me to donate to a poor area once. Does that count?”

Zhao Qing forced a smile despite the pain, looking at the young man.

“It seems you won’t shed a tear until you see the coffin, refusing a drink only to gulp down punishment. Beat him until he changes his story!”

The young man said through gritted teeth, hating people who are stubborn because they always slow down his plans.

    “Ah!”

Soon, the living room was filled with the sound of punches and kicks, along with Zhao Qing’s cries.

“Kid, are you going to talk or not?”

After about six or seven minutes, the young man stopped the others, stepping on Zhao Qing’s head with one foot.

“I’ll talk, I’ll talk. I know something very secret.”

    Zhao Qing said weakly.

“That’s more like it. A wise man knows when to submit. What is it? Tell me.”

The young man was instantly excited because if Zhao Qing said it was secret, it must be unspeakable.

Zhao Qing smiled grimly, “Actually, Mr. Xu… is your real father. You don’t believe me? Ask your mom. She was so pleased she fainted several times, then you’re here now.”

“Nephew, is this secret enough? Only I know about it, hahaha…gasp, gasp.”

“Beat him! Beat him to death!”

The young man’s face twisted with rage, stepping hard on Zhao Qing, screaming hysterically.

The brutal concert of violence resumed in the living room.

No matter how they beat him or forced him, Zhao Qing refused to give in.

People called him Xu Shaochen’s dog secretly.

He didn’t care because being a dog was easier than being a man.

But a dog must be loyal and obey.

Zhao Qing understood the weight of things.

“Boss, if we keep beating him, he might die.”

The bodyguard said to the young man, worried about Zhao Qing fainting.

“Lock him up. Don’t let him die. Find ways to torture him daily until he spills something.”

The young man said through gritted teeth, dissatisfied with Zhao Qing’s resistance.

Xu Shaochen, I won’t believe I can’t find a way to get to you!”
