Chapter Index

    Great Wilderness Province.

Huo Shen and his son walked out of the Airport.

    “Finally back.”

Huo Shen sighed. At the moment the Plane landed, he felt like he could finally relax.

“Let’s go to the company first. I haven’t been there for a few days, I wonder if everything’s in chaos.”

Huo Shen said, waving to hail a Car. He returned in a hurry without informing anyone to pick him up.

He didn’t know the company was more than just in chaos; it had completely changed.

Over 20 minutes later, they arrived at the Great Wilderness Group headquarters.

    “Dad, is this our company?”

Huo Shen was about to walk in when Huo Chuan pulled him back, pointing at the building.

“Nonsense. How many days have passed and you don’t recognize the building? Isn’t this…”

Before Huo Shen could finish speaking, his expression froze.

Because in front of the Great Wilderness Group sign, there was an additional circle with the words “Xu Corporation” inside.

His face turned terrifyingly grim as he hurried into the building without a word.

    Huo Chuan quickly followed.

    “Hello, Chairman Huo.”

    “Hello, Chairman Huo.”

As he walked, employees greeted him, but everyone looked at him strangely.

Huo Shen felt a sense of foreboding.

Logically, his trusted associates should have received news of his arrival and come to welcome him by now.

Yet, there wasn’t even a shadow of a person.

The situation was far beyond his expectations.

He first went to the office of his most trusted associate, but it was empty.

    “Where is Chairman Zhu?”

Huo Shen grabbed a passing employee.

“Chairman Huo, Chairman Zhu… was taken away by the Police. Didn’t you know?”

The employee looked puzzled. They thought the major boss would surely know.

Huo Shen’s heart sank. He released the employee and walked briskly to Zhao Pin’s office.

    “Bang!”

He pushed the Door open forcefully.

Zhao Pin looked up from his Documents. “Oh, Chairman Huo, why didn’t you let me know you’d be back? I could have picked you up.”

“I want to know what’s going on.” Huo Shen asked stiffly, his eyes on the nameplate on Zhao Pin’s Desk, pupils narrowing.

Zhao Pin smiled slightly. “Chairman Huo, what do you mean? I don’t understand.”

“Are you playing dumb? Why was my man arrested? And you, how did a Vice Chairman become the Chairman?”

Huo Shen pointed to the nameplate, shouting angrily. He was losing control, unable to comprehend the situation.

“Oh, Chairman Huo, sorry to break it to you. You’re no longer the Chairman of Great Wilderness Group, but I still respectfully call you Chairman Huo.”

Zhao Pin adjusted his suit collar, smiling nonchalantly. “Chairman Zhu and Chairman Chen were taken by the Police for cases over 10 years old. They likely won’t return.”

“Their shares were bought at original price by me and other stockholders.”

“As for you, Chairman Huo, the board unanimously voted to remove you as Chairman. I’m now in charge.”

“Oh, and our company partnered with Xu Corporation, becoming a subsidiary. Great Wilderness Group will surely catch the fast train of development.”

Huo Shen’s face turned white like he’d been struck by lightning, glaring at Zhao Pin. “How dare you? How dare you!”

He couldn’t believe his home was taken while he visited Jiangzhou.

Huo Chuan looked just as bad, his face pale as paper.

“Chairman Huo, Great Wilderness Group has delayed outward expansion for too long. We can’t delay anymore, so you’re out.”

“From now on, I’ll lead Great Wilderness Group. You’ll see the company you built grow and integrate internationally.”

Zhao Pin remained calm. “Oh, by the way, it’s best for Director Zhao to sell the remaining shares to avoid unpleasant things.”

Taking shares during an advantage is easy.

One simple way is injecting capital. If Huo Shen doesn’t keep up, his shares will dilute quickly.

But since Huo Shen no longer controls the company, it’s unlikely he’ll invest.

Therefore, the best outcome is to sell the shares.

According to rules, shareholders can sell shares to the company at issue price.

    “Hahahaha… hahahaha…”

Huo Shen laughed bitterly, looking at Zhao Pin. “Alright, alright, I, a hooligan, am no match for you educated people.”

He realized why Xu Shaochen detained him overnight and cut off all contact.

He guessed his base was stolen while he was confined in the Hospital.

“Zhao Pin, you ungrateful wolf! My father treated you well, and this is how you repay him! What you did deserves divine punishment!”

Huo Chuan yelled angrily. If looks could kill, Zhao Pin would be torn apart by Huo Chuan.

Facing Huo Chuan’s insults, Zhao Pin remained unmoved. “Young Master Huo, I don’t like to insult people, do you know why? Because it means you can’t do anything to them except talk.”

“Instead of insulting me, reflect on yourself. As Mr. Xu said, you’re quite the dutiful son.”

    “You…” Huo Chuan was furious.

Huo Shen stopped him. “Enough! Haven’t we lost enough face?”

“Huo Shen, the main reason is you offended someone you shouldn’t have, and Young Master Huo added fuel.”

“The fire might not burn Mr. Xu, but it burned you instead.”

Zhao Pin spoke calmly, actually feeling a bit sorry for Huo Shen.

Building a business over years only to see it vanish in one move. It surely drained his spirit.

“Yes, offended someone I shouldn’t have.”

Huo Shen smiled wryly. He thought he could spar with Xu Shaochen.

Yet he couldn’t withstand even a single round.

    One shouldn’t be blindly confident.

“Chairman Huo, if there’s nothing else, you can leave now. I have work to do.”

Zhao Pin began to dismiss him. He’s not interested in hearing Huo Shen’s life reflections.

After all, he’s the winner with no need for reflection.
