Chapter Index

“What? Did I interrupt your fun? Go on please, I’ll learn something and maybe even use it someday.”

Xu Shaochen said with a mocking smile.

Long Er brought over a chair and placed it behind Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen sat down, crossed his legs, and lifted his chin. “What are you frozen for? Can’t understand my words? Go on as if I’m not here. Seems like you didn’t consider me in your plans anyway.”

Manager Chen and his secretary were drenched in cold sweat, standing there with trembling legs.

    “Bang!”

Xu Shaochen grabbed a glass from the nearby water cooler and hurled it.

The glass shattered on Manager Chen’s head, and crimson blood trickled down his cheek.

Yet Manager Chen stood there dazed, not daring to even wipe the blood from his eyes.

“I said continue! Can’t you understand human words? Useless!”

Xu Shaochen looked at him with a piercing gaze, speaking each word slowly.

Suddenly, the office seemed to turn several degrees colder.

    “Thud!”

Manager Chen fell to his knees, crawling to Xu Shaochen, slapping his own face as he cried. “Chairman Xu, I’m wrong! I truly know I’m wrong! Please give me another chance! I’ll never do this again.”

The secretary also quickly kneeled down, repeatedly kowtowing to Xu Shaochen. “Chairman Xu, it’s not my fault, it’s not my fault! He forced me to do it, or he’d fire me.”

She didn’t hesitate to shift all the blame onto Manager Chen.

“You tramp! You seduced me!” Manager Chen’s eyes bulged with rage, glaring at the secretary.

He never expected the woman to be so shameless, throwing all the blame at him.

“I told you to continue what you were doing. Can’t understand, right? If you can’t, there’s no need for your ears. They’re just useless decoration anyway.”

Xu Shaochen remained indifferent to the scene before him, his expression calm, revealing neither joy nor anger.

    “Chairman…Chairman Xu…”

The secretary and Manager Chen looked up at Xu Shaochen pitifully.

Only then did they realize Xu Shaochen was serious.

Xu Shaochen leaned forward, grabbed Manager Chen’s hair, and spoke each word, “I said continue. This is the third time I’ve repeated it. You’re the only one who’s made me repeat something thrice.”

Manager Chen shivered, glancing at the secretary.

    “No…please no…”

The secretary’s face turned pale. She was shameless, but doing such things in public was beyond her.

“Go, call all the managers from the third-floor offices. Bring them here to watch.”

    Xu Shaochen told Long Yi.

    Long Yi nodded and left.

Xu Shaochen gestured, and Long Er handed him a cigar, bending down to light it.

Within a minute, four middle-aged men entered Manager Chen’s office, all part of Lotus Charity’s Yunquan County management.

The four glanced at the disheveled Manager Chen and secretary, guessing what had happened.

However, the four showed no concern, secretly rejoicing instead.

Caught by the big boss while fooling around, Manager Chen and the secretary were surely out.

Now all four had a chance to become the new manager. They hadn’t realized the severity of the situation, thinking it only involved Manager Chen and the secretary.

“Chairman Xu, I was wrong. I can’t do it, I really can’t. I know my mistakes, please give me another chance.”

Manager Chen continued to kowtow to Xu Shaochen, his forehead becoming a bloody mess.

In front of so many colleagues, he couldn’t bring himself to do such things.

“Can’t do it? How come you could do it before? Why so stingy? Won’t share your techniques with us?”

Xu Shaochen said with a mocking smile, then suddenly kicked him hard.

    “Ah!”

Manager Chen screamed, rolling on the ground.

The other four laughed internally. Old Chen acted so high and mighty, yet here he was.

One middle-aged man seized the chance to act, scolding Manager Chen. “Old Chen, how could you do such disgraceful things? How could you let down Lotus Charity’s trust or Chairman Xu’s guidance?”

    “Crack!”

The burning cigar in Xu Shaochen’s hand flew into the man’s face.

A hiss, and a mark burned into his skin.

    “Ah!”

The man screamed, clutching his face in pain.

The other three felt grateful for not stepping up earlier.

“Damn it! All of you using me! Okay, explain those cars downstairs!”

“Since when did Lotus Charity offer such perks for expatriate employees?!”

Xu Shaochen cursed, his gaze sweeping over their faces.

Boom! The others stood frozen in shock.

Their blood seemed to stop flowing. A chill ran up their spines.

They had been glad to see Manager Chen fall.

Only now they realized they were in danger too.

“Chairman Xu, let me explain. The car is mine. I saved for years to buy it.”

“Yes, me too. I paid the deposit and I’m paying in installments.”

    “We absolutely didn’t use the company’s money…”

    Each tried to clear themselves.

A single misstep could cost more than their jobs.

“Ha, so you all have savings. I’ll have it checked.”

Xu Shaochen sneered, pretending to make a call on his phone.

He didn’t believe a word they said.

He’d seen outside; those were clearly new cars.
