Chapter 1122: You Don’t Seem Charitable at All
by xennovel“Tang… Tang Jun, did you offend someone out there?”
Tang Jun’s wife spoke tremblingly, clearly frightened.
Tang Jun’s face shifted uncertainly. He wasn’t sure who did it.
“Ding ding ding…”
Suddenly, his phone rang.
Tang Jun picked up and answered the call: “Hello.”
“Mr. Tang, did you like the little gift I sent? I hope I didn’t disturb you and your wife’s rest. Our Mr. Li is determined on that land and hopes you’ll give us an answer soon.”
“Damn it!”
Tang Jun cursed through gritted teeth, then hung up the phone.
He didn’t expect Li Daoyu to be behind this.
How many years had it been since he encountered something like this?
“Old Tang, maybe… we should call the police.”
His wife suggested cautiously, clearly having heard the phone call.
“Call the police? What good would that do? Can they find evidence against him?”
Tang Jun dismissed the idea. Since Li Daoyu didn’t personally do it, the phone call alone wasn’t enough to incriminate him.
He hadn’t thought that young man would resort to threats just after their afternoon meeting.
“Then… what do we do?”
His wife was so anxious she began to cry. After all, as a woman, who wouldn’t be scared by this?
“Stop crying, just stop!”
Hearing her sobs, Tang Jun felt irritated and scolded her sharply.
His wife stopped crying immediately, only silently sobbing with her shoulders shaking.
Tang Jun’s face hardened again, but then he dialed Long Yi’s number: “I agree. One million, I’ll sell it to you.”
“Damn, none of you are any good. I’ll let you fight among yourselves.”
“Alright, this shows Mr. Tang is a wise man. Let’s sign the contract tomorrow.”
Long Yi was stunned for a while, obviously not expecting Tang Jun to agree so quickly.
“Okay.”
Tang Jun said before hanging up, tossing his phone aside and pulling up the covers to sleep.
Once the contract is signed tomorrow and the money received, that land will no longer concern him.
That bastard Li Daoyu can go deal with the guy named Long.
“I hope they fight each other bloody. That would make me happy.”
…………
The next day.
Early in the morning, Tang Jun set off for Yunquan County again.
Meanwhile, Xu Shaochen was having breakfast.
“Boss, Tang Jun agreed. I’ll sign the contract with him today.”
Long Yi reported to Xu Shaochen, not wanting to disturb him last night.
After all, Xu Shaochen was quite busy last night.
“Hm, notify the Lotus Charity’s Yunquan County team. Have someone accompany you to sign the contract.”
Xu Shaochen said calmly. Contracts should be signed in the company’s name, not Long Yi’s.
Although he trusted Long Yi, business had to follow the rules.
“Yes, boss.”
Long Yi responded, then turned to leave.
Half an hour later.
Long Yi, with someone from Lotus Charity, met Tang Jun again at yesterday’s teahouse.
“Mr. Tang, didn’t expect to see you so soon.”
Long Yi remarked, thinking his business method was quite effective.
“Cut the crap and give me the money and contract. I have things to do.”
Tang Jun replied indifferently, having no fondness for either Long Yi or Li Daoyu.
“Give Mr. Tang the contract. Don’t waste his precious time. He deals in millions every minute.”
Long Yi joked for once, though no one found it funny.
An employee from Lotus Charity handed over the prepared contract.
“Lotus Charity?”
Tang Jun froze, looking incredulously at Long Yi: “You’re with Lotus Charity?”
Long Yi nodded.
“You don’t seem charitable at all.” Tang Jun remarked seriously after a pause.
Long Yi smirked: “Let’s sign the contract first.”
Tang Jun signed his name without hesitation and left with the bank card.
At the door, he paused, turned back to Long Yi: “As a favor to Lotus Charity, I’ll warn you, there’s also a guy named Li eyeing my land…”
“Your warning is unnecessary.”
Long Yi cut him off calmly.
Tang Jun hesitated, then smiled self-deprecatingly, realizing who the Lotus Charity’s boss was: “Maybe it really was unnecessary.”
With that, he strode away.
“Ding ding ding ding…”
Just outside the teahouse, his phone rang again.
Seeing the caller ID, he smirked, then answered: “What is it?”
“Mr. Tang, my people saw you returned to Yunquan County. How about we continue our unfinished conversation?”
“No need. I’ve already sold the land to Lotus Charity. If you’re interested, talk to Lotus Charity.”
With that, Tang Jun hung up and blocked the number, getting into the car by the roadside.
“Back to the city.”
Meanwhile.
“Beep… beep… beep…”
Listening to the busy signal, the middle-aged man was stunned before turning to Li Daoyu: “Mr. Li, the guy named Tang sold that land to Lotus Charity. What do we do?”
Li Daoyu, who was having porridge, paused: “Lotus Charity, Xu Shaochen’s company?”
“There’s only one Lotus Charity nationwide.” The middle-aged man nodded.
Li Daoyu pondered, then gestured: “Come here.”
“Mr. Li.”
The middle-aged man quickly approached with a flattering smile.
“Closer.”
Li Daoyu instructed.
“Okay.”
The middle-aged man smiled ingratiatingly, moving closer.
“Whoosh!”
Li Daoyu splashed red bean porridge on his face, roaring, “How many times have I told you? Hurry up and get it done! And now? Tell me, what now?”
“Mr… Mr. Li, I didn’t expect a…”
The middle-aged man stood there like a scolded child, not daring to wipe the porridge off his face.
“There are many things you didn’t expect!”
Li Daoyu shouted, cutting him off, then slowly calmed down, gritting his teeth: “Get me an appointment with Xu Shaochen. I want to meet him.”
Across the nation, environmental efforts were causing many factories to shut down. Their planned factory was highly polluting.
After much effort, they found Yunquan County, found that land.
Giving up now would mean all that time was wasted.
