Chapter Index

“Ahhh! Why are you biting me Let go.”

    Xu Shaochen screamed in pain.

“You jerk! You did that on purpose!” Huo Xiao released Xu Shaochen “Stop the car!” she told Long Yi.

Long Yi glanced at Xu Shaochen.

“I said stop the car!” Huo Xiao shouted furiously.

“Do as she says stop the car stop the car.”

Xu Shaochen rolled up his sleeve looking at his wounded hand as he spoke to Long Yi.

Long Yi pulled the car over to the side of the road.

As soon as the car stopped Huo Xiao got out angrily.

    “Xiao.”

Xu Shaochen hurriedly chased after her.

“Ah, the problems of the rich.”

Long Yi and Long Er exchanged a look as they slowly drove after the two.

“Xiao why are you walking so fast wait for me.”

Xu Shaochen grinned as he caught up and held Huo Xiao’s hand.

“Let go You don’t even like me.”

Huo Xiao tried to shake off Xu Shaochen’s hand, but it wasn’t working.

For a woman constantly hinting at Xu Shaochen who just laughed it off felt like humiliation to Huo Xiao.

“How could I not like you I was just joking.”

Xu Shaochen regretted taking the joke too far.

Huo Xiao didn’t say a word.

With no other choice Xu Shaochen quietly held her hand and walked with her.

“Hey I want to eat that.”

After walking for over 10 minutes Xu Shaochen was daydreaming before Huo Xiao finally spoke.

    “Huh?”

Xu Shaochen snapped back from his daydream.

“I said I want to eat that!”

    Huo Xiao repeated angrily.

Xu Shaochen looked in the direction she pointed, seeing a small stall selling grilled sausages.

“Alright let’s go I’ll buy it for you.”

Xu Shaochen said as he pulled her hand walking towards the vendor.

“Handsome, beautiful lady how many skewers?”

Noticing a customer the vendor warmly smiled.

    “Give me…”

    “I’m taking these.”

Before Xu Shaochen could finish, a delinquent grabbed some sausages tossing a remark as he walked away.

    “Okay take them take them.”

The vendor’s smile vanished as he shooed him away like a fly.

Seeing this Xu Shaochen was furious, quickly kicking the delinquent to the ground.

“Damn it What are you doing!”

The grill sausages flew as the delinquent clutched his knee cursing.

Xu Shaochen continued punching and kicking while scolding,

“How dare you ask? This old man works hard for a living, and you punks swindle his food for free.”

“Ah stop it, it’s not what you think stop!”

The delinquent curled up begging for mercy.

The vendor stared stunned before rushing forward pushing Xu Shaochen away.

“Old man why are you doing this?” Xu Shaochen asked confused.

The vendor retorted angrily “What am I doing Why are you hitting my son!”

“Your… your son?!” Xu Shaochen blinked, stammering.

The vendor glared then hurried to the delinquent “Son are you alright my son?”

“Dad… boohoo I just wanted two sausages and look what he did to me!”

The delinquent sobbed, feeling much wronged.

“Look what you’ve done to my son! He may not be perfect but you have no right!”

The vendor glared at Xu Shaochen.

    “This…this…”

Xu Shaochen stood awkwardly a jumble of emotions inside.

    “Pfft—”

Huo Xiao couldn’t help but laugh tears coming to her eyes.

“Dad, she’s laughing at me too…”

    The delinquent cried harder.

    “Guys help yourselves.”

Three more delinquents casually grabbed sausages.

    “Are those your sons too?”

    Xu Shaochen asked the vendor.

    “No!”

The vendor barked before shouting at the newcomers “What are you doing Stop that put them back!”

“Old man it’s just some sausages Don’t push me or I’ll wreck your stall!”

One sneered biting into a sausage.

    “Ahh pfft—”

Suddenly he screamed bleeding as he fell.

“I don’t give a damn Show me then.”

    Xu Shaochen casually said.

He was clearly the one who acted.

He felt guilty for before helping out now was amends.

    “Damn it Attack him!”

The delinquent struggled up pointing at Xu Shaochen.

Hearing his order two lackeys stared menacingly at Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen’s eyes turned cold “Leave.”

    “Okay, boss.”

    They turned quickly running off.

    “Stop… stop right there!”

The bleeding delinquent felt icy despair.

    Call someone ‘boss’ over sausages.

    Flee when asked for help.

    Jianghu spirit doesn’t exist!

“Didn’t you want to kill me I’m here show me.”

    Xu Shaochen taunted.

“You wait there if you dare don’t run!”

    He left hurriedly.

    “Coward.”

Xu Shaochen insulted turning to the vendor “Sorry for this earlier…”

“No worries son owes you. He’s tough, a bit of blood won’t hurt.”

The vendor ignored his son’s resentful eyes thanking Xu Shaochen.
