Chapter 1176: Long Yi with the Guitar Case
by xennovelThe New Year in Dragon Country is approaching fast while Christmas in America is long over.
Long Yi walked through the streets of America, feeling somewhat out of place.
The reason, naturally, is because he’s been in Dragon Country for too long.
After a dozen minutes, Long Yi arrived at the entrance of a five-star hotel named Golden Splendor.
He has been in America for three days, and during these three days, this is his fifth visit to the hotel, each time with a different appearance.
The first time, he was a guest checking into the hotel; the second time, a homeless man begging at the entrance; the third time, a bystander on a phone call; the fourth time, a janitor; and this time, a street musician with a guitar case.
If everything goes as planned, this will be his last time.
Because after tonight, he can return to Dragon Country.
Long Yi stood for a while at the hotel entrance, then with the guitar case on his back, he turned and walked into the mall across the street.
Once inside the mall, Long Yi didn’t stop and skillfully made his way to the rooftop.
Over the last three days, he has visited the hotel entrance five times but entered this mall over ten times.
On the rooftop.
Facing the cold wind, Long Yi spread out a blanket on the ground.
Then he opened the guitar case on his back.
He wasn’t a street musician, and what was inside the case wasn’t a guitar.
It was a gun, to be exact, a collection of firearm parts.
Because he made a living with guns.
Within three minutes, the parts in Long Yi’s hand assembled into a large-caliber sniper rifle.
Lying on the blanket, he set the rifle up aiming at the hotel entrance—the place he frequented the last three days.
Next, he just had to wait patiently.
Twenty minutes later.
A luxury car fleet consisting of a Bentley and five Maybachs stopped at the hotel entrance.
Then the doors of the five Maybachs opened first, and twenty tall bodyguards stepped out.
The bodyguards stood at either side of the Bentley and then respectfully bowed, waiting.
The Bentley’s driver got out and opened the rear door.
A middle-aged man stepped out of the car.
This person was Wang Lan.
On the rooftop, Long Yi silently loaded the sniper rifle, holding his breath.
As Wang Lan got out of the car, a blonde foreigner from the hotel with a smile walked up to him.
Wang Lan had a smile on his face as well, taking a step forward and extending a hand to shake hands with the foreigner approaching.
Just as their hands were about to touch.
On the mall rooftop across, Long Yi pulled the trigger.
“Bang!”
The noise from the large-caliber sniper rifle was loud, and no silencer was used.
However, compared to the noise on the street, the gunshot was insignificant.
The bullet pierced the air, shattering most of Wang Lan’s body.
“Thud!”
Wang Lan’s body flew heavily, then smashed to the ground.
The hotel entrance was instantly in chaos.
Wang Lan’s bodyguards were no amateurs. In nearly no time, they identified the bullet’s direction.
Leaving some people to protect Wang Lan, seven or eight rushed into the mall.
On the rooftop.
Long Yi quickly changed his clothes, put the gun back in the guitar case, slung it over his back, and leisurely walked downstairs.
Long Yi moved quickly, reaching the second floor of the mall in moments.
Just then, he encountered the seven or eight bodyguards rushing past.
Wang Lan slowed his pace, remaining calm as he brushed past them.
Once those seven or eight were out of sight, Wang Lan quickened his pace.
He went downstairs, got into a taxi by the roadside, and sped away.
………………
In Jiangzhou.
In a private room at Chen Yu Grand Hotel.
“Come, little princess, let me toast you.”
Xu Shaochen poured a drink for Jennifer while he drank red wine.
“Ding ding ding…”
Just after taking a sip, his phone rang.
Seeing the caller ID, he smiled.
It was Long Yi’s call, which meant the task was accomplished.
If it had failed, Long Yi wouldn’t call; instead, he’d escape at full effort or end his life.
“Keep quiet, uncle needs to take this call.”
Putting a finger to his lips and then Xu Shaochen answered the call: “Hello.”
“Boss, the task is done; the target died on the spot.”
Long Yi’s conclusion was not exaggerated.
A chest shot from a large-caliber sniper rifle, the victim flew on the spot, rendered unsavable even by gods.
“Okay, come back then. Come back, and let’s celebrate.”
Xu Shaochen hung up smiling, and resumed chatting with Barron and his grandson.
After rounds of drinks and various dishes.
Jennifer, after all, was still a child. Plus, having been on a plane all day, she soon felt sleepy.
Xu Shaochen had someone take her to rest in a room at the hotel.
“Tell me, Xu, what do you want to know? Why have I come all the way to Dragon Country?”
Barron put down his wine glass, looking at Xu Shaochen.
“Before that, I need to apologize.”
Xu Shaochen spoke and gave Barron a deep bow: “Sorry, Mr. Barron, I lied to you.”
“What do you mean?” Barron asked puzzled.
Xu Shaochen awkwardly mentioned: “The jade stone in your hand is fake; the real one is always with me. You can throw it away. If your research team claimed they found anything, they were scamming your funding.”
Barron’s smile froze before he spoke: “Are you kidding me?”
“Mr. Barron, do you think I would call you all the way to Dragon Country just to joke?” Xu Shaochen remained serious.
Barron exploded suddenly.
“Oh! Shit! Fuck! Xu, you damned bastard, just like your grandpa, one old bastard and one young bastard, you both are…”
Within a few minutes, Barron probably cursed every rude word he knew in his life.
“That was bad news. Can I tell you some good news?”
“Shit! What good news can offset the harm this bad news caused me?” Barron said gritting his teeth, eyes fixed on Xu Shaochen.
“The good news is, the Genetic Serum, I made it from the jade stone. The second generation of the Genetic Serum is almost ready. The second generation can achieve the effects you’ve always dreamed of.”
Xu Shaochen spoke calmly.
Barron stood still for a while, then reacted, looking at Xu Shaochen in disbelief: “Xu, you… You’re joking, right?”
“Unfortunately, I’m not,” Xu Shaochen said, shaking his head with a smile.
Barron’s face suddenly broke into a broad smile: “Xu, I might have used the wrong words earlier. Your grandpa is a bastard, but clearly, you are not.”
