Chapter Index

The dishes were soon served one after another.

Not sure about the taste in a five-star hotel, but the presentation and style were definitely top-notch.

Just one look and your appetite would soar.

“Open two bottles of wine. One red, one white. Get the best you have here.”

Xu Shaochen said as he looked at the waiter.

“Sure, sir. Please wait a moment.”

The waiter smiled slightly, turned, and left. Moments later, she returned with two bottles of wine. After confirming they should be opened, she proceeded to open them.

In case a bottle is opened without the customer’s consent and they refuse to pay, the waiter would be liable.

One random bottle of wine alone would be a fortune for these regular waiters, so they are exceedingly cautious in this regard.

    “I’ll go to the bathroom.”

Liu Rushuang whispered to Xu Shaochen, then got up and asked the waiter for directions to the restroom.

“What are you all doing, just standing there? Dig in!”

Xu Shaochen said to Mei Liangxin and the other two, taking the lead by picking up his chopsticks to grab some food.

Once he started, Mei Liangxin and the other two didn’t hold back and began devouring the food.

After about ten minutes, Liu Rushuang returned, but her expression seemed off.

“What’s wrong?” Xu Shaochen asked with concern when he saw her expression.

Liu Rushuang forced a smile and shook her head: “It’s nothing. Let’s eat first.”

Xu Shaochen furrowed his brow, but since Liu Rushuang didn’t want to speak, he didn’t press further.

“Come on, sis-in-law! I’m raising my glass to you and Shaochen. Wishing you both eternal happiness.”

As expected, Mei Liangxin was the most socially adept. Mixing red wine and baijiu, doubling the joy.

    “Thank you.”

Liu Rushuang pursed her lips into a smile, then raised her glass to lightly clink it against Mei Liangxin’s.

Suddenly, Xu Shaochen noticed a change in Liu Rushuang’s expression.

Following her gaze, Xu Shaochen saw four young men seemingly searching for something. Soon, they walked over.

“Yo, Rushuang! Didn’t I just ask you to come up and have a drink with me? Why didn’t you come? See, now I have to come down and fetch you myself. Leaving the job without a word, how could you? I’m so heartbroken!”

The one leading, a young man dressed in black casual wear, grinned as he looked at Liu Rushuang. His eyes were full of undisguised greed.

“Sorry, it’s inconvenient for me right now,” Liu Rushuang responded coldly, her eyes full of disdain.

Xu Shaochen furrowed his brow: “What’s going on?”

“He’s the son of my former boss. His name is Wang Gang. We just bumped into each other in the restroom corridor, and he’s been pestering me since,” Liu Rushuang explained in a low voice.

Wang Gang’s eyes shifted to Xu Shaochen, and he sneered: “Rushuang, your taste is really bad. How could you think of choosing this brat? Kid, are you even old enough to drink?”

    “Hahaha…”

As soon as the words left his mouth, the three people behind him burst into laughter, looking at Xu Shaochen with disdain.

Mei Liangxin, Zhao Qing, and Zhang Wei’s expressions immediately darkened, glaring at the four of them, ready to act at any moment.

At another table, Long San and Long Si also stood up, subtly blocking the four men’s escape route.

“I’ll give you three seconds to disappear from my sight.”

Xu Shaochen coldly stared at Wang Gang, his eyes void of any emotion, as if looking at a dead man.

All the customers in the dining hall paused, watching the scene unfold with interest.

“Kid! Our Young Master Wang fancies your woman; that’s your good fortune. How dare you speak to him like this!? You’re tired of living, aren’t you?!”

A red-haired lackey behind Wang Gang jumped out, arrogantly reprimanding Xu Shaochen.

“Break one of his hands, so he knows how to talk to me in the future!”

Xu Shaochen said calmly, a mocking smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

As soon as he finished speaking, Long San stepped forward and kicked the red-haired man to the ground, then picked up a chair and smashed it down on his arm.

    “Crash!”

As the chair fell, it shattered into pieces, and the red-haired man’s left arm was completely twisted and deformed.

    “AAAAAAHHH!”

The red-haired man let out a harrowing scream, curling up on the ground, rolling in agony. His face was ghostly pale, and large beads of sweat dripped from his forehead.

Long San’s movements were swift and fluid. Some people hadn’t even reacted yet.

    Hiss—

Everyone gasped, now looking at Xu Shaochen with a touch of fear.

With just one command, one hand was broken—brutal enough to chill the heart.

The two remaining lackeys behind Wang Gang couldn’t help but shiver. Internally, they kept thanking their lucky stars that they hadn’t stood up earlier.

“How dare you! How dare you hit my man!”

Despite a flash of fear in his eyes, Wang Gang forced himself to question Xu Shaochen.

    “Smack!”

Before he could finish, Xu Shaochen stood up and slapped him across the face.

“I don’t like the tone you use when you speak. If you do it again, I’ll make sure you never speak for the rest of your life. Understand?”

Xu Shaochen’s voice was calm, without any hint of threat, more like a casual chat with an old friend.

    “Thud!”

Meeting Xu Shaochen’s abyss-like gaze, a chill crept up Wang Gang’s spine, and he collapsed to the ground, looking up in terror at Xu Shaochen. His throat felt dry, and he couldn’t utter a single word.

Xu Shaochen’s gaze then fell on the two remaining young men, a sneer playing on his lips: “Trash is trash. The trash can is where you belong.”

The two kept their heads down, not daring to meet his eyes, but internally they simmered with anger and humiliation.

“What? Not convinced? Come on, I’m standing right here. Hit me. Come on, hit me!”

Xu Shaochen spread his arms out, adopting a haughty and contemptuous expression.

But the two still kept their heads down, not saying a word.

    “Smack!”

The next second, Xu Shaochen backhanded them both across the face, his voice dripping with contempt: “Even if I give you a chance, you’re still useless!”

    “Thud!”

Suddenly, one of the yellow-haired men stepped forward to stand in front of Xu Shaochen.

All eyes instantly landed on the yellow-haired man, some in shock, others with admiration, some with pity.

Even Wang Gang, still on the ground, couldn’t believe it as he looked at Yellow Hair with excitement in his eyes.

Yellow Hair… Yellow Hair, I always thought you were the most cowardly one. I never expected that I was wrong about you. To think you’d dare stand up in a moment like this. How much courage does it take!

The green-haired young man next to him felt nothing but shame and endless admiration for Yellow Hair.

Even Xu Shaochen was a little surprised. A moment passed before a look of appreciation appeared in his eyes: “I didn’t expect…”

“Thud! Boss, you’re right. I’m nothing but trash. Please spare me! It’s all Wang Gang’s fault. It has nothing to do with me!”

Before he could finish, Yellow Hair dropped to his knees in front of Xu Shaochen, bawling his eyes out.

    Everyone: “…”

    Wang Gang: “…”

Everyone felt like a thousand divine beasts just trampled through their hearts.

The green-haired young man let out a sigh of relief. Yellow Hair was still Yellow Hair, with his usual tricks and demeanor.
