Chapter Index

    “Arrogant.”

Du Jun snorted coldly and then said indifferently: “Teach him a lesson. Break both his legs and throw him out.”

As his words fell, the four bodyguards who had been surrounding Long San and Long Si now fixed their gazes on Xu Shaochen.

“If you can’t take care of those four useless fools, you might as well roll back to America. I don’t keep idlers around here.”

Xu Shaochen looked at Long San and Long Si and calmly said this before sitting back down in his chair.

“Keep eating. It’s just a clown. He can’t stir up much trouble.”

Xu Shaochen said this to Mei Liangxin and the rest, then picked up his chopsticks and started eating nonchalantly.

Mei Liangxin and the others exchanged glances, then looked at Du Jun, shrugged, and also sat down to resume eating and drinking carelessly.

Although Liu Rushuang was still a little worried, seeing Xu Shaochen’s confident demeanor calmed her down significantly, so she took the initiative to pour him some alcohol.

Watching this scene, Du Jun’s temples throbbed with rage, his face darkening to a point where it seemed like it might drip water.

Being ignored! Completely ignored! To ignore someone is the greatest insult, so how could he not be furious?

The others were also filled with unease, deeply impressed by Xu Shaochen’s composure. Even though they were just bystanders, they didn’t dare sit down and keep eating.

But Xu Shaochen, the person at the center of it all, acted as if nothing had happened.

    “Take them down!”

Du Jun roared angrily, his eyes red with fury.

    How long has it been?

He had already forgotten how long it had been since someone dared to humiliate him like this. If Xu Shaochen walked out of here today, how could Du Jun keep his dignity?

    “Kill!”

Du Jun’s four bodyguards shouted angrily, simultaneously launching themselves at Long San and Long Si.

Long San and Long Si twisted their necks and sneered, each raising a finger to indicate they would finish this in one minute.

Then, each taking on two opponents, they charged head-on.

They were both top-notch members of the Xu Family’s international security company. In other words, they were international mercenaries, once deadly reapers on South African battlefields.

It wouldn’t have mattered if it was just one of them. As long as they fought with their lives on the line, these four bodyguards were no match for them.

It was like comparing wild wolves to domesticated huskies.

    “Ah! Thud—”

In just the blink of an eye, the four formidable bodyguards were coughing up blood, sent flying, and crashing to the ground, where they lay groaning in pain, unable to get up.

“Ah! My legs! My legs are broken!”

    “Aaaah!”

For a moment, the only sound that remained in the hotel lobby was the pitiful cries of those four men, echoing long and loud.

Everyone present stood in a daze, watching the scene unfold.

They had anticipated a fierce battle, but it was over in the time it took to take a sip of water.

Were those four too weak, or were these two simply too strong?

    “This… how is this possible!”

Du Jun was completely shocked. His family’s bodyguards were supposed to be elite security professionals. How could they be defeated so easily? It made no sense.

Mei Liangxin and the others were equally stunned. They had sensed that Xu Shaochen’s bodyguards were skilled, but they never imagined they were this brutal.

Wang Gang, standing nearby, felt a strange sense of relief. He was lucky that those two brutes hadn’t targeted him earlier.

“It seems your men are rather useless, much like you—complete trash.”

Xu Shaochen stood up and kicked one of the groaning bodyguards on the ground before looking up at Du Jun with a teasing smile.

Du Jun’s face turned from green to pale as he gritted his teeth and said: “Don’t get cocky! Offending me, Du Jun, not even the King of Heaven can save you.”

    “Bang!”

Before his voice died away, Xu Shaochen grabbed a plate and smashed it over Du Jun’s head, the plate shattering into pieces on the floor.

    “Ah!”

Blood trickled down Du Jun’s forehead. He covered the wound with his hand, staggered back several steps, and barely managed to stay on his feet. He glared at Xu Shaochen with hatred.

    “Sorry, I slipped.”

Xu Shaochen gave him a slight smile, shrugged, and said lightly.

“You’re looking for death!” Du Jun screamed hysterically.

    “Bang!”

In the next moment, another plate shattered on his head.

    “Sorry, slipped again.”

Xu Shaochen spread his hands, showing an apologetic expression.

Everyone present was trembling in fear watching this. Young Master Du getting beaten up like this was an unprecedented spectacle.

Wang Gang had already abandoned the thought of exacting revenge on Xu Shaochen. Now, he only wanted to stay far away from him.

Because in his eyes, Xu Shaochen was a complete madman.

Otherwise, how could he dare to treat Du Jun this way?

This wasn’t just some random person; this was Du Jun, the eldest son of the Du family!

Feeling the pain in his forehead, Du Jun felt dizzy. He glared at Xu Shaochen but didn’t dare to speak again.

“Excuse me, could the waiter bring me a new set of chopsticks and a bowl?”

Xu Shaochen turned to the waiter nearby and smiled gently.

The waiter, pale and trembling, hurried to get a new set of chopsticks and a bowl for Xu Shaochen.

“Let’s continue. Otherwise, the dishes will get cold.”

Xu Shaochen said to Mei Liangxin and the others indifferently, as if Du Jun were merely part of the decor.

    “What’s going on here!?”

At this moment, a voice filled with authority rang out.

Accompanied by vigorous and hurried footsteps, a middle-aged man in a suit strolled over, frowning.

    “It’s Mr. Du!”

Someone in the crowd gasped, and they quickly cleared a path.

    “Dad… why are you here?”

Seeing the middle-aged man, Du Jun’s expression changed drastically, and he quickly stepped forward to greet him.

He didn’t want his father to know about this, as he preferred to handle such matters on his own.

    “What’s the meaning of this!?”

Seeing the wound on Du Jun’s head and the mess on the ground, Du Feng’s expression darkened.

He had just happened to pass by and decided to drop in to see how Du Jun’s so-called business venture was going. To his surprise, he walked into this mess.

As Du Feng’s expression shifted, everyone in the room felt a tremendous pressure, as if a dark cloud had descended upon the hotel lobby.

“Dad, I can handle this myself.” Du Jun gritted his teeth. He refused to believe he couldn’t deal with a mere brat.

    “Smack!”

Du Feng slapped him across the face: “Handle it yourself? What can you handle? I’m asking you what’s going on! Who did this!?”

After saying that, Du Feng swept his gaze across everyone in the room.

Seeing Xu Shaochen, he was initially stunned, clearly surprised. But then his face broke into a smile, and he quickly walked over.

“Mr. Xu, I never expected you to honor our humble establishment with your presence. Truly, it’s an honor beyond words.”

Du Feng’s demeanor was humble, his tone carrying a hint of flattery.

After the Sun Family banquet that night, he had used his resources to investigate Xu Shaochen.

What he found was astonishing. Xu Shaochen had countless connections to the Xu Family.

Considering that Xu Shaochen also bore the Xu surname, coupled with the Sun Family’s attitude, he couldn’t help but speculate.

This morning, after hearing that he missed Xu Shaochen’s company’s opening ceremony, Du Feng deeply regretted it.

He never imagined that he would run into Xu Shaochen by chance in his son’s restaurant. Truly, the heavens were smiling upon him!
