Chapter 152: It’s More Effective to Speak with a Gun
by xennovel“Um…”
He Chao froze when he heard the middle-aged man’s words.
“Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear what I said!”
Seeing He Chao in a daze, the middle-aged man impatiently slammed the counter and cursed.
Everyone in the store frowned. This man had no manners at all.
He Chao finally came back to his senses and smiled apologetically at the middle-aged man, pointing at Xu Shaochen. “I’m really sorry. Both necklaces have already been taken by this gentleman. Perhaps you’d like to look at something else?”
“No way, hubby! I only want this necklace.”
Before the middle-aged man could reply, the woman clinging to his arm acted coquettishly, her chest pressing against his arm continuously.
Everyone felt a wave of disgust. It was obvious to them that this woman must be some kind of mistress.
“Alright, alright. Be good, sweetheart. I’ll buy it for you. I’ll buy it.” The middle-aged man clearly had a weakness for the woman’s act. He looked at Xu Shaochen and said calmly, “Brother, don’t be too greedy. There are two necklaces, how about one for each of us.”
After saying that, he didn’t wait for Xu Shaochen’s response and directly told the boss, “Wrap mine up.”
“Um… Sir, what do you think…” The boss looked at Xu Shaochen awkwardly.
One glance at this bald-headed middle-aged man and you could tell he was trouble. The boss definitely didn’t want to provoke him, so he left the issue to Xu Shaochen.
Xu Shaochen smiled and politely said to the bald middle-aged man, “Sorry, buddy. I got here first and need both necklaces, so I can’t let you have one.”
“Heh. What, just because I called you ‘brother,’ you think you’re suddenly worth something? Let me tell you, kid, don’t take a mile when given an inch!”
The bald middle-aged man twisted his neck, his expression darkening, as he pointed at Xu Shaochen’s nose and began to curse.
He hadn’t expected Xu Shaochen to not give him any respect. This kid had some nerve.
For a moment, the tension in the jewelry store was palpable. Everyone instinctively lowered their breath, afraid to make a sound.
Outside the store, Long Yi and Long Er had been keeping an eye on the situation. Seeing this scene, they both got out of the car but didn’t rush in.
“Seven million. Charge my card and wrap it up.”
Xu Shaochen ignored the bald man entirely, speaking to the boss calmly.
“Hubby…” The woman tugged at the bald man’s sleeve, sounding anxious.
The bald man shot a cold glance at Xu Shaochen, then said to the boss, “Seven and a half million. I’ll take both necklaces.”
The boss’s eyes lit up instantly. His mind raced, thinking his chance to make a fortune had come. Smiling, he looked at Xu Shaochen and said, “Sir, as a businessman, I have to sell to the highest bidder…”
“Heh. Mr. He, isn’t this a little unethical? No credibility at all? Do you think I’m an idiot?”
Xu Shaochen’s smile was polite, but there was a hint of coldness in his eyes as he spoke to He Chao.
He didn’t lack money and was willing to spend it, but that didn’t mean he enjoyed being treated like a fool.
It was clear He Chao was being greedy, trying to raise the price. Such blatant disregard for honesty was truly unscrupulous.
“Sir, you can’t say that. Business is about making as much profit as possible.”
Now He Chao’s tone wasn’t so polite anymore. After all, even if Xu Shaochen left, he’d still have the bald man to make a sale to. He had nothing to worry about.
No matter what, he was going to benefit.
“Kid, if you’re broke, stop embarrassing yourself here and just get lost.”
The bald middle-aged man scoffed, looking at Xu Shaochen with arrogance.
“Clack!”
Ignoring him, Xu Shaochen slapped a bank card onto the counter and said to the boss, “Charge the card. Seven million. I’ll take the items.”
Seven million. He wouldn’t allow even one extra cent to be added. Whether they sold or not, the items would still belong to him.
“Kid…” The bald middle-aged man’s anger flared as Xu Shaochen ignored him yet again.
“Smack!”
Before the man could finish his sentence, Xu Shaochen slapped him across the face and said calmly, “Don’t interrupt me when I’m talking. Got it?”
Hiss—
Everyone gasped, watching Xu Shaochen as they wiped the cold sweat from their foreheads.
They had thought the bald middle-aged man was domineering.
Now they realized how far off they’d been.
Xu Shaochen was the real tyrant, a person who was domineering from the inside out, unscrupulously so.
“Kid, you really have a death wish, daring to hit me like that!”
Feeling the sting of pain on his face, the middle-aged man’s rage threatened to consume him, his eyes filled with venom as he glared at Xu Shaochen.
“Seven million. Wrap it up.”
Xu Shaochen didn’t acknowledge the bald man, calmly repeating his request to He Chao.
He Chao smirked, feeling confident as he said, “Sir, it’s seven and a half million now. Pay up or I’ll sell to the gentleman next to you.”
He was certain that this cocky young man would eventually give in.
“Really?”
Xu Shaochen smiled brightly, turning around and gesturing to someone outside.
Long Yi and Long Er strode in and respectfully addressed Xu Shaochen, “Boss.”
The bald middle-aged man, who was just about to curse out Xu Shaochen, swallowed his words when he saw this and silently took out his Phone, preparing to text someone for help.
“Clang!”
Xu Shaochen took the handgun from Long Yi’s waist, set it on the counter, and calmly said to He Chao, “Since you didn’t listen when I spoke politely, let me try a different method. I’m asking you one more time. Seven million. Will you sell?”
He realized that when dealing with idiots, money was more effective than words; but when money wasn’t enough, a gun did the trick.
If words didn’t work, he’d use money. If money didn’t work, he’d resort to the gun.
“Ah!”
Everyone in the store was startled by the sight of the gun and immediately ducked down, covering their heads.
“Clatter!”
The bald middle-aged man, who had just been preparing to text someone, trembled in fear, dropping his Phone to the ground as cold sweat drenched him and his mouth went dry.
“H-Hubby, the necklace… I… I don’t want it anymore,” the woman in his arms stammered, trembling with fear.
“G-Gulp… I’ll sell it, I’ll sell it.” He Chao swallowed hard and panic-stricken, shouted at the sales clerk, “What are you standing there for? Hurry up and wrap up the necklaces for this gentleman!”
Right then, He Chao was filled with regret. A man who drove a Rolls-Royce, accompanied by two bodyguards—one of whom had a gun. How could he have thought to scam someone like that?
“I’ll let you have one necklace. Will you still take it?” Xu Shaochen turned to the bald man and asked.
“Thud!”
The bald man immediately collapsed to his knees, his face full of tears as he wailed, “Big brother, I was wrong. I didn’t recognize your status. I don’t want it anymore. I don’t want it!”
Would he still dare take it?
Only if he didn’t value his life.
“Smack!”
“Idiot. Competing with me? Go eat shit.”
Xu Shaochen slapped him again, disdainfully cursing him.
“Smash the store. If they don’t honor their word, they’re not fit for business. They should go home and herd cows instead.”
After charging his card and paying, Xu Shaochen coldly threw these words at He Chao, and left the jewelry store with Xie Wei without looking back.
Trying to raise the price and rip him off? Not afraid that the money would burn a hole in his pocket.
