Chapter Index

    “Mr. Xu.”

Just as Xu Shaochen walked out of the hospital, a young man dressed in a black tracksuit quickly approached him.

Long Yi and Long Er instantly blocked him two meters away from Xu Shaochen.

After all, a shooting had occurred during the day, so the two men were very sensitive to anyone getting close to Xu Shaochen.

“I’m here to deliver something on behalf of Mr. Han,” the young man said.

Understanding the situation, the young man didn’t step any closer and instead spoke to Xu Shaochen from where he stood.

Xu Shaochen nodded to Long Yi and Long Er. The young man handed them a canvas bag and quickly turned to leave.

Xu Shaochen hadn’t expected Han Tianxiong to be so fast. He had just sent a message, and the task was already completed.

Clearly, this is something he keeps at the ready!

But then again, considering Han Tianxiong was able to marry a daughter from the Huang Family, it proves he’s no ordinary businessman.

Especially since last time, when he decisively had Xie Yaohua’s bodyguard, A’Bao, thrown off the Yaohua Group building.

Could a truly innocent person pull off something like that with such ease? After getting into the car, Long San opened the canvas bag.

Inside were two pitch-black handguns, both fully loaded and brand new, with no signs of use—definitely clean.

He handed one to Long San and then set off for the place Zhao Qing had mentioned.

An hour later, the car arrived near an abandoned factory in a secluded area outside the city.

Xu Shaochen couldn’t help but admire how Zhao Qing’s men managed to find even such a hidden spot. As expected, snakes have their paths, and rats have theirs.

When they were still a considerable distance away from the abandoned factory, the car stopped. Going any further would have made engine noise that could alert their targets.

    “Mr. Xu.”

When Xu Shaochen got out of the car, Zhao Qing, who had been hiding by the roadside, came out with his men.

Zhao Qing had only brought four people with him. Clearly, these were men he really trusted.

“Good job. How did you find it?”

Xu Shaochen casually asked, glancing at the faint outline of the factory in the distance.

“Mr. Xu, it was this guy who found it.” Zhao Qing pointed at a tall and skinny man nearby.

“Hello, Mr. Xu.” The tall and skinny man greeted Xu Shaochen a bit nervously, then said somewhat bashfully, “This place has been abandoned for a long time. I had been eyeing it earlier and came here today to steal some scrap metal to sell for some cash. That’s when I ran into these three guys.”

“Since I was there to steal, I felt guilty and, combined with the fact that they had guns, I got scared. I hid and quietly slipped away while they weren’t paying attention. Once I got back to the city, Brother Qing asked us to find those guys, and I immediately thought of them…”

After hearing this, Xu Shaochen almost felt sorry for those three men.

They went through all the trouble to find such a desolate place, one that even the police likely didn’t know about, only to have a thief stumble upon them instead.

“Well done. You won’t be forgotten,” Xu Shaochen patted him on the shoulder.

The tall and skinny man, overwhelmed with gratitude, said, “No need, no need. Mr. Xu, you’re being too kind. Helping you is my privilege. I’m just doing what I should.”

“Move in,” Xu Shaochen instructed Long Yi and Long Er.

Long Yi and Long Er exchanged a glance, loaded their guns, and headed toward the distant factory.

“Mr. Xu, how about we go help them?” Zhao Qing asked, gritting his teeth. Although scared, he knew that in order to achieve wealth and status, he had to push through his fear.

Xu Shaochen shook his head, “No need. They can handle it.”

These are top-tier international mercenaries armed with guns. I can’t imagine they’ll have any trouble taking down three nobodies.

Earlier, Long San and Long Si only had one gun between them but still managed to escape from those foreigners. Their combat abilities are clearly exceptional.

    “Bang! Bang bang…”

A few minutes later, several gunshots rang out from the abandoned factory, and then everything fell silent.

    “Ring ring ring…”

Xu Shaochen’s Phone started ringing. It was a call from Long Yi.

    “Boss, it’s all done.”

After hanging up, Xu Shaochen walked toward the abandoned factory.

Zhao Qing and his men exchanged glances and hurried to follow after him.

    “Ah! Ah, ah!”

As soon as he entered the factory, Xu Shaochen heard several cries of pain. He saw three gunmen writhing on the ground in agony.

All of them had been shot in the legs and hands, leaving them in pain but not in any life-threatening condition.

    “Boss,”

as soon as they saw Xu Shaochen enter, Long Yi and Long Er stood behind him.

    “Did Zhou Yun send you?”

Xu Shaochen looked down at the three men writhing on the ground.

“Who’s Zhou Yun? We don’t know anyone by that name. We just wanted to extort some money from you,” one of them said, gritting his teeth and glaring at Xu Shaochen in pain.

“Heh, whether you admit it or not doesn’t matter. If I think he did it, then he did. As for evidence? I never need evidence. The only reason I came to see you was to take your lives.”

Xu Shaochen chuckled dismissively, gesturing for Long Yi and Long Er to finish them off.

Zhou Yun, the mastermind, deserves to die. And these three who took action deserve it even more.

Those foreigners were too conspicuous—they’re something for the police to deal with. But as for the people behind it all, we’ll settle scores with them later.

Zhou Yun needs to be dealt with now, or I won’t be able to swallow this anger.

“No! Don’t kill me! I’ll talk It’s Zhou Yun. Zhou Yun sent us! He promised five million if we succeeded.”

Seeing that Xu Shaochen was serious about killing them, the three men, who had been acting tough earlier, instantly turned cowardly. After all, no one actually wants to die.

“Five million? Looks like you don’t realize who I am. That amount is an insult to me. And for those who insult me, I’m usually generous enough to send them to meet God.”

Xu Shaochen coldly threw out his words and turned around to leave.

“Don’t go! Come back Come back! I don’t want to die I don’t want to die!”

“Please spare us! We’ll help you kill Zhou Yun…”

    “Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Three gunshots echoed, and the factory fell silent again.

    “Boss, it’s done,”

Long Yi and Long Er walked out.

“Dispose of the bodies, and make sure the guns are dealt with too,”

Xu Shaochen said calmly. The bullets used in those three guns are likely already on record with the police, so there’s no point in keeping them.

“Mr. Xu, let me handle it!”

Zhao Qing volunteered, knowing that after tonight, he would truly earn Xu Shaochen’s trust.

    “Keep an eye on him,”

Xu Shaochen told Long Yi. He didn’t fully trust Zhao Qing yet; after all, Zhao Qing and his men weren’t as professional as Long Yi and Long Er, so mistakes could easily be made.

A single fire, burning everything—people and vehicle alike.

“Zhou Yun, haha, what a Zhou Yun.”

In the car, Xu Shaochen closed his eyes for a light nap. Today had been exhausting, and he had been on edge the entire time.

    Zhou Yun must die.
