Chapter 185: Newfound Hope

“I’m sorry, Shaochen. If it weren’t for me, none of this would have happened today.”

In the car, Song Xinran looked at Xu Shaochen with a face full of apology, feeling very remorseful.

“Sister Xinran, why are you saying this? It’s not your fault for being pretty. Can you really stop others from having bad thoughts about you?” Xu Shaochen shook his head, a bit helpless.

Song Xinran’s cheeks flushed a little. She felt that Xu Shaochen was complimenting her. Yes, he was definitely complimenting her.

Xu Shaochen found it a bit strange. By now, he was used to hugging and holding Song Xinran without blushing. Yet with just a few words, her face turned scarlet.

Song Xinran quietly asked, “How do you want me to make it up to you?”

Song Xinran blushed deeply and said nothing, clearly agreeing to Xu Shaochen’s request.

Before long, Xu Shaochen pulled the car to a relatively secluded roadside.

“Ah! Not here, what if someone sees us?”

“Shaochen, I have to return to my hometown tomorrow. I’m afraid it wouldn’t be convenient to finish today. I’ll give it to you when I get back.”

Song Xinran hurriedly whispered this into Xu Shaochen’s ear before running into her apartment complex.

Xu Shaochen watched her somewhat embarrassed figure disappear, and a knowing smile appeared on his face.

Well, at least there’s finally a confirmed date. It’s something to look forward to.

Xu Shaochen hummed a little tune as he headed toward the home of the Liu Rushuang sisters. The flame that Song Xinran had ignited had to be extinguished somehow! Otherwise, what if a fire broke out? While driving, he called Zhao Qingyu and asked her to help him get a week off.

Since he had to use a day off, he might as well take several days all at once.

Considering that Xu Shaochen’s reason for the leave was to return to his hometown to pay respects to his father and he had also helped her resolve her brother’s internship issue, Zhao Qingyu agreed.

Over twenty minutes later, Xu Shaochen arrived at the home of Liu Rushuang and Liu Ruxu.

“Shaochen, why are you here?”

The one who opened the door was Liu Ruxu. Seeing Xu Shaochen, her eyes lit up.

“Where’s Sister Rushuang?” Xu Shaochen looked around. There was no sign of Liu Rushuang in the living room.

Liu Ruxu pointed to the bedroom, “She’s sleeping.”

“How good is the soundproofing in your house?” Xu Shaochen asked, his eyes already on Liu Ruxu’s graceful figure.

To be honest, it had been a long time since he had touched Liu Ruxu, and he was feeling a bit of an itch.

Liu Ruxu blinked, hooked her arms around Xu Shaochen’s neck, and whispered seductively, “If it comes to that, I’ll just hold back and stay quiet.”

That was the signal.

Once the signal was given, Xu Shaochen carried Liu Ruxu into her bedroom without another word and locked the door behind them.

What happened next inside the room was indescribable…

About half an hour later, they finished their fierce battle.

“Alright, you should go out now. Otherwise, Rushuang might wake up.” Liu Ruxu pushed Xu Shaochen off her after catching her breath.

Although he was reluctant to leave, Xu Shaochen quickly put on his clothes and left the room. In order to win over Liu Rushuang, he had no choice.

“Click—”

Shortly after he came out, the door to Liu Rushuang’s room opened.

Xu Shaochen was startled and silently heaved a sigh of relief. Thank goodness he came out in time; otherwise, he would have been in serious trouble.

“When did you get here?”

Liu Rushuang had just woken up, and her mind was still groggy. After a moment, she looked at Xu Shaochen uncertainly.

“Just now. That nightgown looks really nice.” Xu Shaochen was a bit guilty, so he searched for something to say.

Liu Rushuang rolled her eyes and teased, “Nothing’s showing, and you still think it looks good?”

“Do you really have to show anything? Your face alone is enough.” Xu Shaochen said seriously.

Liu Rushuang smiled enchantingly and rolled her eyes again. “You sure know how to talk. Did someone coat your lips with honey?”

“Want a taste?” Xu Shaochen leaned in closer.

Liu Rushuang pushed him away playfully, “Get lost, my sister’s home.”

After some playful banter with Liu Rushuang, Xu Shaochen left her house. Staying any longer risked exposing everything.

“Phew—”

After going downstairs, Xu Shaochen finally let out a sigh of relief.

This sneaking around between two sisters was starting to feel more and more thrilling, like being a secret agent.

He was certain that if Liu Rushuang discovered he was still involved with her sister, she would definitely not hesitate to let him experience the pain of a shattered manhood.

After all, he hadn’t fully won over Liu Rushuang yet. The goal of having both sisters was still distant and challenging.

Shaking his head, Xu Shaochen drove back home.

“Boss, I’ve already contacted the person you wanted me to find last night. They will be entering the country soon to handle the matter.”

Long San, hearing the engine, came out of the house and reported to Xu Shaochen.

“Good. Give them all of Zhou Yun’s information. You cover the expenses for now, and I’ll reimburse you later.”

Xu Shaochen nodded, surprised at Long San’s efficiency.

“Understood, Boss.”

Long San replied with a nod.

“You and Long Si will accompany me back to my hometown tomorrow,” Xu Shaochen instructed.

Security is one thing, but the long drive is tiresome and boring. It’s better to have Long San and Long Si along.

“Understood, Boss,”

Long San responded again.

“I have high hopes for you.” Xu Shaochen patted his shoulder, offered an encouraging look, and then walked into his villa.

Long San stood there watching Xu Shaochen’s back, frowning slightly. Usually, when the boss wanted to delay payment, he would say something motivational like that.
