Chapter 197: I Admire Your Courage
by xennovel“Miss, can you please move your car so I can get mine out?”
The middle-aged man said politely to Song Xinran.
“Alright, I’ll move it right away.”
Song Xinran nodded, then got into her car, sat in the driver’s seat, and skillfully started the car, driving it forward.
At that moment, the car in front of her suddenly moved, and without warning, the two cars collided.
“Bang!”
However, due to the slow speed and close distance, nothing major happened—just a few scratches on the paint.
Song Xinran quickly turned off the engine and got out of the car.
Meanwhile, three people stepped out of the BMW in front of her—a middle-aged man wearing glasses and two youths who looked like bodyguards.
“What the hell! How are you driving? Didn’t you see I was backing up? You’ve scratched such a big patch of paint!”
The middle-aged man with glasses frowned at the scrape on the rear of his car and began to hurl insults at Song Xinran.
“Excuse me, my car moved first. Your car started after mine, and now it’s all my responsibility? And watch your language.”
Song Xinran originally planned to apologize and offer to pay some money to settle the matter, but she didn’t expect the other party to be so aggressive and foul-mouthed. She couldn’t put up with it.
“Friend, it’s true that your car started later. If you want to argue, you both share responsibility. It’s not entirely her fault.”
The middle-aged man who had earlier asked Song Xinran to move her car had witnessed the whole accident and immediately spoke up in defense of Song Xinran.
“What the hell are you saying! Who do you think you are? If you don’t know what to say, then shut up or I’ll make you shut up!”
The middle-aged man with glasses angrily cursed and pointed at the other middle-aged man’s nose, threatening him.
The man who had spoken up for Song Xinran glanced at the bodyguards next to the man with glasses and then at the BMW. Though he was dissatisfied, he didn’t dare say anything more.
He understood that people like this could cause serious trouble—the kind you can’t afford to clash with. Better to disdain them privately than to provoke them publicly.
“Fine, fine. Even if it’s my fault, I’ll pay for the damages, alright?”
Song Xinran didn’t want to argue anymore. The damage wasn’t much, and she wasn’t keen on wasting time here.
“Pay for it? Heh, alright. But this isn’t just any car. Can you even afford it? Driving a G-Class SUV—who knows which sugar daddy paid for it? Stop pretending to be so high and mighty!”
The middle-aged man with glasses sneered at her, unreservedly insulting her.
Being this close, Song Xinran could smell the alcohol on him. He had clearly just been drinking.
“You’re insane! Just how much of that cheap booze did you drink to forget who you are!” Song Xinran was so angry that her face turned pale, and her fists clenched tightly.
“Slap!”
Before her words even faded, the middle-aged man slapped her across the face. “You’re the crazy one, little bitch. Say that again and see what happens.”
“What the hell are you doing!”
Xu Shaochen had just come out of the restroom when he saw this scene, his expression instantly turning grim as he quickened his pace.
“Shaochen.” Song Xinran covered her cheek with a hurt expression as she appeared in Xu Shaochen’s arms, sobbing softly.
Just by looking at the collision area of the cars, Xu Shaochen immediately understood what had happened. Seeing the slap mark on Song Xinran’s face, he became furious.
“Just tell me, how much do you want?” Xu Shaochen asked the middle-aged man with glasses coldly. How dare you hit my woman? You’re tired of living, aren’t you?
The middle-aged man with glasses gave Xu Shaochen a once-over and sneered, “My car costs four million. Pay me two million!”
“Fine.” Xu Shaochen nodded expressionlessly and pulled out his checkbook, ready to write a check.
“Clap!”
The middle-aged man with glasses slapped the checkbook out of Xu Shaochen’s hands and arrogantly said, “Who knows if this check will even clear? I want cash!”
“Boss!” Long Yi and Long Er both visibly tensed.
Xu Shaochen waved his hand, signaling them not to act rashly. He smiled slightly at the middle-aged man with glasses. “Cash, right? Fine, I’ll get you cash.”
With that, Xu Shaochen dialed Zhao Qing’s Phone number. “Bring a few more people and withdraw two million in cash for me. I’m at…”
“Mr. Xu.”
Very soon, Zhao Qing arrived and handed a case containing two million in cash to Xu Shaochen.
“Here—two million. Count it.” Xu Shaochen took the case and handed it to the middle-aged man with glasses, a smile on his face but a deadly glint in his eyes.
“Heh, kid, you borrowed your dad’s car to pick up girls, huh? Think of this two million as tuition. Remember this lesson next time. Hiccup~”
The middle-aged man with glasses’ eyes lit up as he grabbed the case. Then he patted Xu Shaochen’s face condescendingly, burping as he spoke in a lecturing tone.
“Bang!”
Suddenly, a loud noise rang out.
The middle-aged man with glasses turned around to see that the men Zhao Qing had brought were smashing his BMW with iron hammers.
“What are you doing! Stop! Stop immediately! Do you have a death wish!”
The middle-aged man with glasses’ face turned pale as he yelled, his throat hoarse.
His two bodyguards wanted to act, but Long Yi and Long Er stepped forward and blocked them, revealing the handguns at their waists.
The two bodyguards of the middle-aged man instantly broke into a cold sweat. They didn’t dare move an inch, knowing that they probably wouldn’t be able to get out of this situation unharmed.
“I’ve paid you the two million, but it’s not for paint repairs—it’s for the car repairs.”
Xu Shaochen calmly stated as he watched the middle-aged man with glasses. In the blink of an eye, the BMW was reduced to a wreck.
“I’ve paid you, now let’s settle the account for that slap you gave my girlfriend.”
Xu Shaochen paused for a moment, then continued with a slight smile, “And let’s not forget the three times you just patted my face. By the way, you’re the first person in a long time who dared to do that. To be honest, I admire your courage.”
The middle-aged man with glasses realized he had seriously misjudged the situation. The alcohol-induced haze cleared as fear crawled over his face, and he stared at Xu Shaochen, trembling. “What do you want?”
“Nothing much. I just want you to give me a ride home.” Xu Shaochen patted his shoulder before pulling him towards his car.
Long Yi jumped to open the car door. Xu Shaochen climbed in with the middle-aged man, Song Xinran sitting on his left, while the middle-aged man shivered on his right.
“Drive.”
Xu Shaochen uttered the word coldly.
“Bang!”
Long Yi aggressively stepped on the gas, ramming through the wrecked BMW and speeding off.
“Heh, that arrogant guy’s in for it now. He messed with the wrong people.”
“Exactly—you think driving a BMW and having two bodyguards makes you tough? He totally deserved this.”
The onlookers couldn’t hide their schadenfreude, grinning as they watched the scene unfold.
