Chapter Index

“B-Big Bro… I don’t want the money anymore, please… just let me go. I beg you.”

Inside the car, the middle-aged man with glasses was trembling as he handed over the money box. Cold sweat dripped down his back, and his face was twitching.

Xu Shaochen was playing with a pitch-black handgun, casually pointing the muzzle in his direction.

“How can that be? I said it was compensation, so it’s yours. How could I take it back? I, Xu Shaochen, always keep my word.”

Xu Shaochen calmly smiled, pushing the money box back towards the middle-aged man.

“Big Bro, I was wrong! I was really wrong!”

The middle-aged man with glasses started crying, repeatedly pleading. Why was I so stupid earlier?

If I hadn’t slapped Song Xinran, if I hadn’t smacked Xu Shaochen’s face, none of this would be happening now! “You didn’t do anything wrong. How could you be at fault? It’s the world that’s messed up. Alright, I’m almost home. Since we hit it off so well, I’ll leave you a souvenir.”

Xu Shaochen spoke gently, but the gun in his hand was already pressed against the right hand of the middle-aged man—the same hand that slapped Song Xinran. With a smile as warm as spring, he pulled the trigger without hesitation.

    “Bang! Bang!”

Two shots rang out inside the car, but the noise of the busy street outside masked them.

    “Thud!”

The next second, the car door opened, and Xu Shaochen unceremoniously kicked the man out. Following him was the money box containing two million yuan.

    “Aaaah!”

The middle-aged man rolled on the ground several times before scrambling to his feet. He clutched his bleeding right arm, glaring venomously at the retreating G-Class SUV.

Damn it, I’ll remember this grudge!

All I did was slap that slut. All I did was smack your face three times!

And you shot me twice! Dammit, do you really think I’m so easy to push around? Carrying the money box and ignoring the stares from the onlookers, the middle-aged man walked towards a nearby trash bin and dialed a number.

“I need you to track down a car. Black G-Class SUV, license plate Can A00001. Damn it, don’t ask so many questions. I want him dead!”

    ………..

“Sister Xinran, does it still hurt?”

Xu Shaochen passed the handgun to Long Er and softly asked Song Xinran.

Song Xinran shook her head. “I’m fine, just a bit irritated.”

“No worries, I’ll help you cool off later,” Xu Shaochen whispered in her ear.

Song Xinran’s cheeks flushed red, and she pleaded, “Shaochen, please… Let your sister go, okay? I really can’t take it anymore. We’ve done it so many times since last night.”

“Hahaha, just kidding. Go get some rest.”

Hearing this, Xu Shaochen felt a sense of satisfaction. What did it show? It showed that his stamina was off the charts!

Song Xinran sighed in relief, realizing that Xu Shaochen was teasing her on purpose. She felt a mix of embarrassment and anger.

After dropping Song Xinran home, Xu Shaochen instructed Long Yi to drive him to the school. He called ahead, asking Xie Wei to wait for him at the gate.

It had been a while since Xu Shaochen spent time with Xie Wei. He needed to spread his attention around. Too many women can be a hassle, especially when you need to avoid sudden conflicts.

    ………..

    Meanwhile, at Yunzhou Airport.

A flight from Mg Country landed successfully.

A few minutes later, a tall man in a black suit, looking every bit the gentleman, walked out of the airport.

He waved down a taxi on the street and, after getting in, pulled out a photograph from his pocket.

The photo was of Zhou Yun. The man sneered and ripped it apart, tossing it out the window into a trash bin.

He was the one Long San and the others had brought in from abroad at Xu Shaochen’s behest, hired specifically to deal with Zhou Yun. His name was Mark.

Mark was also a mercenary, but he recently retired and turned into a hitman. From businessmen to politicians, as long as the money was right, he’d take the job.

This time, all he had to do was cripple the target, not kill them. To Mark, this task was child’s play.

If it weren’t for those damned dollars, he wouldn’t have bothered coming all the way here for such a low-difficulty job.

Since he had flown in, his guns had already been sent into the country through other means. They would reach him soon.

Over the next two days, Mark planned to familiarize himself with Zhou Yun’s routine before deciding when and where to strike. Then, he would determine the best escape route.

By the time all this was settled, his gun should have arrived.

Mark thought he might want to do more business with the people of Longguo in the future. This was his first job from Longguo, and they were far too generous.

All he had to do was cripple a businessman, and they paid him so handsomely. He already loved Longguo—and he loved Zhou Yun, the man who would soon fall under his gun.

    …………….

Outside the gates of Jiangzhou University.

    “Shaochen!”

Wearing a pale yellow short skirt, Xie Wei looked like an elf as she joyfully ran over, jumping into Xu Shaochen’s arms.

“Let me take a look. Hmm, the skirt’s pretty nice.”

Xu Shaochen sized her up, giving his thoughts on her outfit.

The pale yellow dress, with a belt cinched at the waist, had a hemline that reached just above her knees. Her slender, pale legs were as smooth as peeled lotus roots, and she wore white high heels. The overall effect was ethereal.

“Is it just the skirt that’s nice?”

Xie Wei pouted, looking displeased, as she wrapped her arms around Xu Shaochen’s neck.

“You’re nice too.” Xu Shaochen smiled, then leaned in closer and whispered, “But you’d look even better without it.”

“Tonight, I’ll let you see as much as you want,” Xie Wei blushed, whispering shyly before quickly getting into the car.

Xu Shaochen chuckled. This little minx, she’s already started teasing me. Looks like I’ll have to put in some extra effort tonight to satisfy her!

First, we’ll eat, then watch a movie, followed by checking into a hotel—Xu Shaochen had already planned everything.

    “Did you miss me?”

Once inside the car, Xu Shaochen pulled Xie Wei into his arms without hesitation.

“Hehe, not at all. Why would I miss you?” Xie Wei giggled mischievously, her eyes sparkling.

“I wasn’t asking you,” Xu Shaochen replied with a serious face, his gaze slowly drifting downward.

Xie Wei was momentarily stunned but quickly realized what he meant. Thoroughly embarrassed, she pummeled Xu Shaochen playfully.

“You’re so bad! You always tease me! I’ll never miss you!”

    “Hahaha…”

Laughing at Xie Wei’s adorable reaction, Xu Shaochen tightened his embrace, holding her in place.

In the front seats, Long Yi and Long Er looked utterly helpless. Once again, the boss was showing off his affection. Strong disapproval of such behaviors!

Long Er instinctively sped up the car. Finally, they reached the restaurant, cutting short their suffering from being shown off to.
