Chapter Index

Xu Shaochen and Zhao Qingyu stayed in the hospital room for over twenty minutes before leaving.

As they walked out of the room, Zhao Qingyu’s face was still a bit red because Li Xiaoli had initially mistaken her for his future daughter-in-law.

“Teacher Zhao, where are you headed? Need a ride?”

Xu Shaochen looked at Zhao Qingyu and asked. It had been a bit awkward earlier, but he finally managed to explain to his mom that this was his teacher, not his girlfriend.

However, if she were both his teacher and his girlfriend, that would be even better.

“You bought a car?” Zhao Qingyu raised an eyebrow and asked.

Xu Shaochen nodded and casually bragged, “Yeah, just got a car for commuting.”

“Shaochen, where did you get so much money?” Zhao Qingyu asked, clearly concerned. She was mainly worried that Xu Shaochen, such a good student, might have done something illegal.

Xu Shaochen smiled and said, “Teacher Zhao, my grandfather left me an inheritance. My mom knows about it.”

Hearing this, Zhao Qingyu finally felt at ease. Since his mother was aware of it, this must be the truth.

Moreover, deep down, she didn’t believe Xu Shaochen would do anything illegal or immoral.

When they reached downstairs, Zhao Qingyu glanced at the luxurious Mercedes and couldn’t help but tug at the corner of her mouth. This was just a ‘commuting car’? “Beep Beep—”

“Teacher Zhao, get in!” Xu Shaochen honked the horn and called out.

Only then did Zhao Qingyu react. She opened the door and sat in the passenger seat. As she got in, her cheongsam-clad body curved gracefully, especially her long legs, which were undoubtedly her most perfect feature.

    “Take me back to school.”

Zhao Qingyu said while adjusting her hair by the rearview mirror.

Xu Shaochen nodded, his eyes briefly skipping over Zhao Qingyu’s delicate face before focusing back on driving.

“What are you looking at?” A woman’s intuition is often very strong. Zhao Qingyu blushed and glared at Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen chuckled awkwardly, “Teacher Zhao, you’re so beautiful. Don’t you have a boyfriend?”

“Why does a little brat like you ask so many questions? Focus on driving.” Zhao Qingyu lightly tapped Xu Shaochen’s head. Realizing the gesture was a bit over the line, she quickly withdrew her hand.

Admiring Zhao Qingyu’s graceful figure from the corner of his eye, Xu Shaochen felt his mind clear up considerably. She was indeed stunningly beautiful.

Zhao Qingyu took out her phone, only to find it was out of battery. She turned to Xu Shaochen and said, “Let me use your phone to make a call.”

“Here.” Without a second thought, Xu Shaochen handed his phone over.

As Zhao Qingyu prepared to dial, she noticed the ‘YQ’ app on his phone and froze. Xu Shaochen also uses this app? Against her better judgment, she tapped on the app, and when she saw the ID and chat history, her face instantly turned as red as a beet, so much so that it seemed she could bleed from it.

Damn it, it turned out the person she was chatting with last night was actually her student, Xu Shaochen. And she had sent him quite a few photos! After flipping through the chat history, she finally understood why the conversation had gone so smoothly last night. Xu Shaochen must have recognized the necklace on her neck and guessed her identity. That’s why he chose topics she’d be interested in. No wonder the chat felt so engaging.

Looking at the increasingly sweet messages in the chat history, Zhao Qingyu’s heart raced, filled with both shame and anger. She wanted to confront Xu Shaochen but didn’t know how to start. It was so embarrassing!

But why did she also feel a strange kind of excitement and thrill?

“Teacher Zhao, what’s wrong?” Xu Shaochen asked, puzzled. Could it be because the car was too hot without the AC on?

“No, nothing.” Zhao Qingyu quickly snapped out of it, hiding her embarrassment. Now, when she looked at Xu Shaochen’s handsome face, she found it increasingly annoying.

This little rascal knew she was his teacher, yet he had the nerve to flirt with her. He was simply too bad.

    And yet, she enjoyed it.

After finishing the call absentmindedly, Zhao Qingyu returned the phone to Xu Shaochen. She wasn’t sure why, but she didn’t expose the matter.

Could it be that her mindset had changed completely? But he was the student she thought most highly of!

But so what? They were both adults now. Besides, he didn’t know that she knew the truth. So, why not continue this mistaken identity game?

After all, it was just an online chat. It’s not like anything would really happen between them.

While her mind wrestled with this intense inner struggle, she kept finding excuses for herself.

Noticing Zhao Qingyu’s increasingly flushed face out of the corner of his eye, looking like a ripe apple, Xu Shaochen felt the urge to take a bite.

He forcefully suppressed the fire within him, deciding to chat with Zhao Qingyu slowly again tonight. Flirting with a beauty like her was the most enjoyable thing.

He still didn’t know that Zhao Qingyu was already aware of everything.

Each lost in their own thoughts and full of nervousness, they spent the rest of the ride in silence.

    Finally, they reached their destination.

Watching Zhao Qingyu get out of the car and leave, Xu Shaochen dialed Zhao Qing’s number.

Liu Hui dared to harm those close to him. He must pay the price, and that price is his life.

Other than that slut Jiang Siyu, Xu Shaochen had never been so eager to kill someone.

    “Hello, who is it?”

There was a long pause before Zhao Qing’s voice came through on the phone.

“It’s me.” Xu Shaochen, single-handedly gripping the steering wheel, spoke in a deep voice.

    “Thud!”

The sound of something falling on the ground echoed from the other end of the phone. After a while, Zhao Qing’s terrified voice came through, “Mr… Mr. Xu, what do you need from me?”

He had every reason to be scared, after all, Xu Shaochen had him in his grasp.

“Tell me where Liu Hui’s house is,” Xu Shaochen said calmly, his tone flat and devoid of any emotion.

“Gulp~” Zhao Qing gulped nervously and after a long moment, replied trembling, “Garden Villa Area, Block 3.”

    “I told you, you’re a smart man.”

    “Y-Yes, Mr. Xu. Don’t worry, I don’t know anything.”

As soon as Xu Shaochen finished speaking, Zhao Qing hurriedly blurted out. He knew Liu Hui was a dead man.

He also realized that Xu Shaochen was far from just a poor kid. Would a poor kid be treated so courteously by the dean of the City Hospital?

No matter how powerful Liu Hui was, he was just a thug. Crossing someone like Xu Shaochen was a death sentence.

After hanging up, Xu Shaochen’s lips curled into a cruel smile. Liu Hui, you’ve dug your own grave.

Xu Shaochen floored the gas pedal, heading to the bank. He planned to ask Liu Ruxu for a favor, to help him distribute the money across several cards.

After all, having a bunch of cards with just one that had money in it was quite inconvenient.
