Humming a tune, he walked towards the classroom.

As Xu Shaochen walked into the classroom, Li Qi, Zhou Fan, and Liu Chao exclaimed together.

“Sure.”

After class, Xu Shaochen left the School, and then Long Yi and Long Er drove him to the Company.

Just a quick visit to the Company, and then in the afternoon, he had to head home to attend an etiquette class. So much to do, and so little time.

“Good afternoon, Chairman.”

“Chairman, you’re here!”

When he entered the Company, all the employees greeted him warmly and respectfully.

Xu Shaochen nodded in acknowledgment and headed straight to Liu Rushuang’s office.

Liu Rushuang was no longer just his Secretary; she was now the full Chief Manager of the Company. Being his Secretary was merely a formality since Xu Shaochen didn’t come to the Company often.

“What exactly do you want? Money? Let me tell you, not a single cent! Get out of here immediately!”

As soon as he reached the office door, Xu Shaochen heard Liu Rushuang’s angry roar from inside.

His brows furrowed as he pushed the door open and walked in. “What’s going on?”

Apart from Liu Rushuang, there were two other people in the office—a middle-aged couple.

“Shaochen, why are you here?” Liu Rushuang took a deep breath and forced a smile.

Xu Shaochen glanced at the middle-aged couple and then turned to Liu Rushuang. “I heard you from outside. Who are they?”

“And who might you be? We’re Xiaoxue’s uncle and aunt.” The Middle-aged Woman cast a glance at Xu Shaochen, speaking with self-righteous authority.

Liu Rushuang shouted angrily, “Uncle? Aunt? You have the nerve to say that? You shamelessly snatched over half of my father’s compensation. How could you dare show your face here?”

Hearing this, Xu Shaochen immediately understood what kind of people this couple was.

“Xiaoxue, that’s no way to speak. Back then, you and your sister were just kids. It wasn’t safe to hold onto that much money. We were thinking of your safety. Besides, you’re making so much money now. Surely you don’t care about such a small sum. Just take it as a token of respect for your uncle and me.” The Middle-aged Woman shamelessly replied, not the least bit flustered.

Liu Rushuang laughed out of sheer rage. This was the first time she had encountered someone who could be so shamelessly righteous. “Fine, take the money and leave. Get out and don’t come back. I don’t want anything to do with you people who disgust me.”

“Xiaoxue, how can you say such hurtful things? No matter what, we’re your closest relatives. We’ll leave if you lend us 500,000 yuan. Your cousin is getting married soon, and we need that amount to buy a house.” The middle-aged man spoke as if this was the most reasonable request, as if Liu Rushuang owed them.

Liu Rushuang sneered, “Why should I lend you my money? What does his marriage have to do with me?”

“What do you mean, ‘what does it have to do with you’? He’s your cousin. If you don’t lend us the money, we won’t leave today. Do you even respect us as your elders? You’re really lacking in manners!” The Middle-aged Woman said as she brazenly sat down on the sofa, clearly planning to stay until she got what she wanted.

The couple had heard from others that Liu Rushuang was now successful, so they came to get some money. There was no way they would leave without getting it. Liu Rushuang was so angry that her face turned pale as she struggled to control her breathing.

Xu Shaochen looked at the couple and said coldly, “You two, whatever your issue is, just get out.”

People like this make him feel even more disgusted than his own relatives who tried to swindle him in the past. They had taken the compensation that was exchanged for a life and stolen it from their young nieces.

After robbing them, they completely ignored the two young girls. Now that they know Liu Rushuang has made something of herself, they shamelessly return, claiming to be relatives and demanding money.

People like this should have been hit by a car as soon as they stepped outside.

“Telling us to get out? It’s you who should leave. Xiaoxue, fire this employee at once. He’s so rude!” The middle-aged man arrogantly commanded Liu Rushuang.

Liu Rushuang sneered, “I don’t have that kind of power; he’s my boss.”

“Boss?”

The uncle and aunt exchanged glances before the woman’s eyes lit up. She looked at Xu Shaochen and said, “So you want to pursue our Xiaoxue, huh? Then you’ll need to pay us 500,000 yuan as a dowry. Otherwise, even if you’re the boss, it won’t matter.”

“Come in.” Xu Shaochen gave the couple a calm, indifferent look and then called out towards the door.

Long Yi and Long Er walked in. “Boss.”

“Throw these two old dogs out and inform security that if they dare step foot here again, break their legs.” Xu Shaochen said lightly. He was familiar with people like these. You can’t show them kindness. Otherwise, they’ll only push for more.
