After crying herself out, Liu Rushuang leaned into Xu Shaochen’s embrace and whispered.

Xu Shaochen kissed her on the cheek. “Don’t mention it. I didn’t do much.”

“They won’t give up so easily.” Liu Rushuang said. She knew her greedy uncle’s family all too well.

Xu Shaochen chuckled lightly. “If they leave quietly, then all is well. But if they dare to come back, they shouldn’t blame me for being rude.”

Liu Rushuang looked up at Xu Shaochen. Then she hooked her arms around his neck and closed her eyes. “Shaochen, kiss me. Right here.”

Looking at her delicate face so close to his, Xu Shaochen didn’t hesitate. He leaned in and kissed her soft, rosy lips.

Liu Rushuang’s face flushed red, and her body stood stiff as a board.

“Clang!”

“Chairman, something… something terrible has happened.”

At that moment, a woman burst into the office, but before she could finish her sentence, she froze, staring blankly at the scene.

Liu Rushuang punched Xu Shaochen a few times. “It’s all your fault, all your fault. This is so humiliating!”

“Just now, didn’t you ask me to kiss you? Wasn’t that an invitation?” Xu Shaochen teased as he held her in his arms.

Liu Rushuang’s face turned so red that it looked like it might drip blood. She lowered her head and remained silent. The heat of the moment had gotten to her. How could she have controlled herself?

Seeing Liu Rushuang looking like an ostrich, Xu Shaochen stopped teasing her. “Let’s go down and have a look. Those two old pests are back to bother us again.”

Hearing this, Liu Rushuang stood up and, with her face still red, followed behind Xu Shaochen. She felt guilty, as if everyone was giving her strange looks.
