Chapter 212: Mr. Xu Sends His Regards
by xennovel“Mr. Xu, would you like to have dinner together tonight?”
After leaving Zhang Wei’s neighborhood, Zhao Qing looked at Xu Shaochen and asked.
Xu Shaochen shook his head, “Next time. Tonight, my dorm mates and I are having a gathering.”
Hearing this, Zhao Qing suddenly felt that his earlier act of showing off while playing mahjong was utterly pathetic.
This is what true showing off looks like. The guy’s still a student and already accomplishing so much.
“Alright then, Mr. Xu, take care.” Zhao Qing sighed inwardly but outwardly became even more respectful.
“What about inviting me?” Mei Liangxin asked Zhao Qing.
Zhao Qing chuckled, “Get lost.”
Mei Liangxin: “…”
Damn men, disdaining the poor and loving the rich—none of them are any good.
“Long Er, tomorrow morning at five, go to Dafeng Factory and keep an eye on the Procurement Department’s lead. If there are any issues, bring him to me.”
Xu Shaochen leaned back in the rear seat, squinting slightly. His voice was calm as he spoke.
His acquisition of Dafeng Factory was to restore its former glory. It was better to clean out the vermin early.
“Yes, Boss. Where to now?”
“Let’s go home. I still have an Etiquette class in the afternoon.” Xu Shaochen rubbed his temples; playing mahjong with a bunch of fools was exhausting.
…
Yunzhou.
Zhou Yun walked into one of his private villas, his arm still in a bandage, while his other arm held a tall, alluring woman close.
Two bodyguards stayed at the door, one on each side, observing the surroundings for any signs of trouble.
Since failing to gun down Xu Shaochen, Zhou Yun had been quite concerned about his safety. He feared Xu Shaochen might retaliate in kind.
So he had two bodyguards who were with him at all times. This gave him a great sense of security.
At that moment, a young white man wearing a black fedora and trench coat strolled leisurely towards the villa with his hands in his pockets.
The man approaching was none other than Mark.
He couldn’t bring a sniper rifle inside, so he only had a handgun and two magazines on him. He had no choice but to infiltrate the villa to complete his mission.
However, his infiltration methods were a bit… unconventional. It’s a side effect of transitioning from mercenary work to being a hitman.
“Hey, you there! What are you doing? This is private property! Leave immediately!”
The two bodyguards naturally spotted Mark but didn’t react too cautiously, as he looked more like a gentleman who had wandered off the beaten path.
Mark smiled slightly at them and then drew his handgun, pulling the trigger without hesitation.
“Bang! Bang!”
The two bodyguards hit the ground before they could react, dead on the spot with bullets through their foreheads, each leaving a small, snowflake-like exit wound.
This was Mark’s unique method of infiltration—eliminate all witnesses. Isn’t that the perfect infiltration?
“What’s going on?”
On the second floor, Zhou Yun’s expression changed as he prepared to engage in some intimate activity. He shoved the woman off him and retrieved a handgun from under his pillow.
“Ah!”
The sight of the gun made the woman’s face go pale, and she let out a piercing scream.
“Shut up, you bitch!” Zhou Yun cursed and kicked the woman off the bed.
Calling her “sweetheart” when getting intimate, but “bitch” when not—how brutally honest.
“Bam!”
Zhou Yun had just gotten out of bed when the door to his room was violently kicked open.
“Bang!”
“Ahhh!”
Before Zhou Yun could fire his gun, a bullet went through his wrist, causing the gun to fall to the floor, blood dripping everywhere.
“Young Master Zhou, Mr. Xu sends his regards. He wishes you a pleasant life.”
Mark leaned against the doorframe, taking off his hat, and smiled at Zhou Yun while speaking in broken Chinese.
Zhou Yun gritted his teeth, enduring the pain in his wrist, his face pale. “How much is he paying you? I’ll offer you double. Let me go.”
“No, no, no. We value our reputation more than businessmen do.” Mark shook his head and then raised his gun, firing several more shots.
“Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Zhou Yun collapsed to the floor, with all four limbs shot. He let out continuous, ear-piercing screams as blood stained the floor.
His limbs were ruined. Though they might heal, they would never be the same again.
“Take good care of Young Master Zhou. This is your tip from Mr. Xu.”
Mark pulled out a U.S. dollar bill and tossed it to the trembling woman in the corner. Then he turned around gracefully and left.
Killing people was his job, but injuring them was within his scope of duties as well.
So, he’s always been extremely serious about his work, just as he was when he was a mercenary—never retreating on the battlefield.
Mark left, and Zhou Yun was quickly taken to the Hospital.
Under the pressure from the Zhou Family, the Hospital did not report the incident to the police.
In a hospital room, Zhou Yun lay weakly in bed, having just undergone surgery.
Zhou Tianhua, Zhou Long, and Zhou Hu stood nearby, their expressions so dark as though they could drip water at any moment.
For Zhou Long and Zhou Hu, Zhou Yun being out of the running for the head of the family was a good thing.
However, Zhou Yun was their brother. Fighting within the Zhou Family was one thing, but for an outsider to hurt one of their own—well, that was courting death.
“Dad, you have to avenge me!” Zhou Yun gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with venomous hatred.
He was ruined, truly ruined. From now on, Zhou Yun was just a cripple.
As long as Xu Shaochen remained alive, there was no way to erase the hatred in his heart.
“Hmph!” Zhou Tianhua snorted coldly, “If anyone dares to harm my son, I will make sure they die without a proper burial!”
“Dad, there’s no need to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Let me handle it. I promise to do a clean job.” Zhou Hu quickly interjected.
Zhou Long’s face darkened. He hadn’t expected Zhou Hu to take the initiative, but this was about getting revenge for Zhou Yun, so he couldn’t object.
Zhou Tianhua glanced at Zhou Long, then said coldly, “Don’t disappoint me. If you can’t deal with some lowlife, don’t bother coming back to the Zhou Family.”
“Don’t worry, Dad. I’ll personally go to Jiangzhou.” Zhou Hu’s expression became serious as he spoke with absolute determination.
The reason Zhou Hu was so eager to help Zhou Yun was twofold. First, he could earn some points with Zhou Tianhua. Second, he hoped to gain Zhou Yun’s support.
Now that Zhou Yun was crippled, he had no chance of becoming the head of the Zhou Family.
That left only the eldest brother, Zhou Long, as a competitor. Gaining Zhou Yun’s support would greatly increase Zhou Hu’s chances of winning the leadership battle.
Of course, Zhou Yun knew what Zhou Hu was thinking, but in his current situation, he had no choice but to accept his fate. “Second Brother, I’ll leave it to you.”
The position of head of the family was no longer within his reach. All he wanted now was revenge, to make Xu Shaochen pay with his blood.
“Don’t worry, Third Brother. I’ll make sure that guy wishes he were dead.” Zhou Hu said coldly, his eyes flashing with ferocity.
