Chapter 213: A Different Way to Make a Point
by xennovelXu Shaochen had already received a phone call about the Yunzhou situation.
He instructed Long Er to transfer the remaining payment. After all, one must honor their word.
At this moment, he was attending an Etiquette class. It was his first time taking such a course.
It was complicated and cumbersome, but Xu Shaochen found it enjoyable because it was quite interesting.
Every glance, every gesture had strict guidelines, even the curvature of a smile was regulated.
For beginners, this was quite an uncomfortable experience because they hadn’t yet formed the subconscious habits.
However, for those conversing with you, it was a pleasant experience because most people enjoy talking with someone polite.
So, Etiquette is meant to make others feel comfortable, not yourself.
After the course ended, the Etiquette instructor left and scheduled to return the next day.
In the afternoon, Linda returned.
“How was it, Boss?” Linda asked as she walked up to Xu Shaochen.
Xu Shaochen smiled indifferently and replied, “Not bad. It’s quite an interesting topic.”
“As long as you like it.” Linda smiled demurely, looking charming and alluring.
Today, Linda was wearing an off-white women’s suit and pants, looking dashing and making her tall, slender figure even more prominent. The fitted suit accentuated her impressive figure perfectly.
“Are there any specific etiquette rules in your Western culture?” Xu Shaochen asked, pulling her into his arms and whispering in her ear.
Linda glanced back at him, her eyes seductive, “Boss, I only know that when applauding, you should do everything you can to make sure you feel comfortable.”
“Vixen!”
Xu Shaochen swore and pushed Linda onto the piano next to them.
“Boss, isn’t it a bit too extravagant to use a $400,000 piano?” Linda turned back, blinking her eyes.
An hour later…
Xu Shaochen, feeling refreshed, went out to have dinner with Li Qi and the others. After such intense exercise, he needed to eat and replenish his energy.
Linda lay sprawled on the piano, her hair a mess, her body slumped like a puddle of mud, slowly sliding onto the floor.
Suddenly, as if she remembered something, her face changed. She forced her weak legs to move upstairs.
Damn, I forgot it’s ovulation day today! Could I be pregnant?
I’d better take some medicine just to be safe. If I really get pregnant, that would be a disaster.
………
The four of them went to their usual spot for dinner.
It was a Korean-style barbecue buffet near the school, costing 79 RMB per person.
The price wasn’t too expensive, the hygiene was good, and the food variety was plentiful, so the restaurant was always bustling.
The three handed their money to the dorm leader Liu Chao, who then paid. The four of them took a spot by the window.
“Damn, you guys took so much food right away. Can’t you pace yourselves?”
Seeing the other three take a massive pile of food, Xu Shaochen couldn’t help but curse since they often couldn’t finish everything they took before.
“Drink less water and eat more; that’s the key.”
“In a buffet, you have to load up on seafood to get your money’s worth; otherwise, you’re losing out.”
“So, last time, you ate five pounds of seaweed by yourself and freaked the boss out?”
“Shut up!”
The four of them joked around while Liu Chao, acting like a nanny, kept grilling food while the other three kept eating.
“Ah!”
Suddenly, Liu Chao let out a scream, clutching his face and jumping in place.
“What happened!”
Xu Shaochen and the others were stunned by the sudden outburst. What on earth made him start dancing in the laser rain?
“What the hell are you doing? Keep it down! If you don’t want to eat, get out and don’t disturb us!”
At the next table, a middle-aged man standing and grilling food looked at Liu Chao and scolded him impatiently.
“What did you say? It’s because you were grilling pork belly, and the oil splashed on my neck!”
Liu Chao winced in pain and retorted sharply at the man.
After all, getting hit by hot oil and then getting accused was enough to make anyone furious.
The middle-aged man’s face darkened upon hearing this. He pointed a pair of tongs at Liu Chao and said, “Kid, don’t make up lies! Which eye saw me splash oil on your neck? Besides, even if some oil did splash, it’s just a drop; is it really that big a deal?”
“How about you try it out yourself?” Liu Chao responded coldly.
“Alright, Old Zhang. You’re arguing with a kid? Forget it.”
“Yeah, Old Zhang. What’s the point of arguing with a brat? Just ignore him, and let’s enjoy our meal.”
Two of the middle-aged man’s friends chimed in, trying to calm him down, though they clearly didn’t regard Liu Chao as worth their attention.
Some people only get more stubborn when others try to calm them down. If no one calmed them down, they wouldn’t care much. But once someone tries, they feel the need to prove their toughness.
This middle-aged man was one of those people.
“Kid, are you not done yet? Didn’t your parents teach you any manners? Want me to teach you?” The man said coldly, already looking like he wanted to strike.
Although Xu Shaochen and the others were four in number, he only saw a group of students and didn’t take them seriously.
Xu Shaochen, Li Qi, and Zhou Fan stood up, their expressions unfriendly as they looked at the man.
“What? Want to fight? Well, come on then! Anyone who doesn’t make a move today is a dog, born of a bitch!” The middle-aged man sneered at the group, totally unperturbed.
Xu Shaochen pointed at Li Qi and smiled at the man, saying, “Brother, this is a law-abiding society, so no need to resort to violence. How about you just apologize, and we’ll leave it at that.”
“Kid, you’re getting cocky now, aren’t you? I’ve been letting it slide, but now you want me to apologize? Who the hell do you think you are!” The man cursed angrily, pointing his finger at Xu Shaochen’s face.
His two friends stood up as well, glaring at Xu Shaochen and his friends. “Enough with the tough-guy act. No way we’re apologizing! Damn, we were doing you a favor by tolerating you.”
“Listen, kid, focus on your studies and don’t pretend to be a gangster. When I was out there hustling, you were still just a damn fertilized egg!” The middle-aged man pushed Xu Shaochen’s chest, his face filled with arrogance.
Xu Shaochen smiled, then without a word, grabbed the tongs and smashed them down on the man’s head.
“Bang!”
“Aghhh!”
The man screamed, completely off-guard, stumbling back two steps. He instinctively clutched his forehead, blood seeping through his fingers.
“I gave you a chance by asking you to apologize, but since you didn’t take it, I’ll just have to make my point another way.”
Xu Shaochen tossed the blood-stained tongs onto the man’s chest, smiling calmly as he spoke.
