Chapter Index

“I’ll give you one last chance. Will you talk?”

Long Er watched Xu Shaochen walk into the bathroom, then looked down at Liu Fan, asking with a sadistic thrill in his eyes.

If Liu Fan continued to be tight-lipped, Long Er wouldn’t mind showing him some tricks. After all, beating people up was the second thing, after money, that gave him the most satisfaction.

“Gulp…” Liu Fan swallowed his saliva with difficulty, and cold sweat beaded on his forehead. “Big brother, don’t force me. If I say anything, they won’t let me live either.”

    “Bang!”

Before he could finish, Long Er kicked him. The kick landed squarely on Liu Fan’s most sensitive area.

    “Aaaaah!”

Liu Fan clutched his groin, writhing on the ground in agony. His face turned as pale as a sheet of paper.

Every man knows that an attack on that part of the body is excruciatingly painful.

“Will you talk now? If not, next time, I’ll shatter them completely. Just one more hit, and you’ll be Longguo’s last eunuch.”

Long Er chuckled, grabbing Liu Fan by the hair and pulling him up, pressing a handgun against his chin.

    “I’ll talk… I’ll talk… I’ll tell you everything! Whimper…”

It turns out that stubbornness often vanishes once pain is inflicted, or when it becomes unbearable.

Just moments ago, Liu Fan was refusing to speak; now, he was crying and snotting all over himself, looking utterly miserable.

At the same time, Xu Shaochen emerged from the bathroom after washing his face and casually grabbed an apple from the fridge.

    “Speak.”

Taking a bite of the apple, Xu Shaochen lifted his chin at Liu Fan, signaling him to spill everything.

“Chairman Xu, Chairman Xu, please give me a chance. Don’t force me. I’ll make up the money…”

Just as Liu Fan finally agreed to talk, he suddenly changed his mind, lunging over to hug Xu Shaochen’s leg.

    “Pfft—”

Xu Shaochen’s face darkened as he spat the apple piece out onto Liu Fan and kicked him away.

    “Ah!”

With a miserable scream, Liu Fan was sent tumbling by the kick, blood oozing from the corner of his mouth.

“You think you can play with me? I gave you a chance, and you didn’t cherish it. Don’t blame me for being ruthless. Drag him out and toss him into the sea. Let him make his final contribution to the world as fish food.”

Xu Shaochen said coldly, his gaze sweeping over Liu Fan as though he were looking at a dead man.

    “Yes, Boss.”

Long Er could tell that Xu Shaochen was genuinely angry—not bluffing—and his face turned somber as he quickly began tying Liu Fan’s hands and legs with his belt.

“No! Please don’t, Chairman Xu! I’ll talk… I’ll really talk!”

Liu Fan was terrified, screaming with all his might. His legs flailed wildly as he crawled back before Xu Shaochen.

“This is your last chance. Remember, everyone who played with me is now lying in an urn. If you dare to mess with me again, I’ll scatter your ashes across the wind!”

Xu Shaochen held up a finger, his chilling gaze locking onto Liu Fan. He spoke nearly word by word, squeezing the apple so hard that it began to crack.

“Yes, yes, Chairman Xu, I won’t dare again. Apart from me, others involved in this were Li Cheng, the deputy director of the Finance Department, Zhou Wei from the Quality Control Department, and Ye Tao, the deputy director of Production.”

Liu Fan confessed everyone involved, trembling as he gave the names. With each name, Xu Shaochen’s face grew darker.

“Heh, impressive. All the way from Procurement to Quality Control, you’ve got an entire chain of services going. No wonder your little operation is thriving.”

Xu Shaochen sneered. The Dafeng Factory was probably drained dry by this group.

If Mei Liangxin hadn’t discovered something amiss, Xu Shaochen would have been played for a fool.

    “Chairman Xu, please spare me!”

Feeling the cold intent in Xu Shaochen’s eyes, Liu Fan shivered, kneeling on the ground and continuously kowtowing.

“Considering that you made a useful confession, don’t say I didn’t give you a chance. Return what you’ve taken, down to the last cent. Understood?”

Xu Shaochen’s voice remained calm as he spoke to Liu Fan. This was already a significant concession; otherwise, Liu Fan’s fate would be either prison or the hospital.

“Yes, yes, thank you, Chairman Xu! Thank you, Chairman Xu!”

Overcome with relief, Liu Fan was filled with the thrill of narrowly escaping death. Just moments ago, he had felt death’s shadow looming over him.

“Alright, go on now. Go back and soothe those treacherous idiots well. Come up with a good excuse for your sudden disappearance this morning. If they sense something’s wrong and run away, I’ll come looking for you.”

Xu Shaochen waved his hand, speaking slowly, delivering a threat that was entirely unreasonable.

“This…” Liu Fan hesitated but then, seeing Xu Shaochen’s icy gaze, shuddered and quickly replied, “Yes, Chairman Xu, rest assured. I know what to do.”

“How are Long San and Long Si doing now?” After Liu Fan left, Xu Shaochen asked Long Er.

Long Er nodded. “Boss, they’re almost fully recovered. The bullets didn’t hit any vital organs or bones.”

“Take them for a trip and clear out those traitors. I may not have been in charge before, but now that I’m here, they dare misbehave? That’s like dancing on the edge of a sword.”

Xu Shaochen said coldly. He was determined to see if those guys had grown three heads and six arms—or just had a death wish.

    “Yes, Boss.”

Long Er bowed and left the room.

“What’s going on? I heard your voice upstairs.”

Linda came down holding a set of clothes, clearly prepared for Xu Shaochen.

It was a black casual suit, giving off a formal but not stiff vibe—a look full of youthful energy.

“Just dealing with a disobedient dog.”

Xu Shaochen replied indifferently, then stood up. With Linda assisting him, he began to dress.

Of course, while getting dressed, he didn’t miss an opportunity to explore Linda’s body.

As the sole developer of this fertile land, Xu Shaochen was well familiar with every inch of the terrain.

Once he was dressed, Linda’s legs were weak, and her face was flushed from laughter.

“I won’t be having breakfast at home today. I’m going.”

Xu Shaochen pinched Linda’s cheek with a slight smile and then walked out.

Outside the villa, Long Yi, Long Er, Long San, and Long Si all stood waiting, dressed in suits.

The Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, and Audi had all been repaired.

The G-Class SUV wasn’t suitable for city driving, so Xu Shaochen’s usual ride was once again the luxurious and dignified Rolls-Royce.
