Chapter 217: I Want to Take Down the Entire Zhou Family
by xennovel“Boss, should we head straight to Dafeng Factory?”
Long Er, seated in the driver’s seat, asked.
“Let’s go to the Hospital first. Grab two breakfasts on the way, and get something for yourselves too!”
Xu Shaochen shook his head and said. He planned to check on his mother’s recovery at the Hospital and deliver her some breakfast.
It was just after 7 AM, well before the morning rush hour. Traffic was light, and they reached the Hospital quickly.
He told Long Yi and Long Er to wait in the car, while he and Long San, along with Long Si, went inside.
Xu Shaochen brought the breakfast to his mother’s hospital room.
“Xiaochen, you’re here.”
Li Xiaoli had already woken up. The elderly, particularly those from rural areas, typically rise early, unused to sleeping in.
“Mom, I brought you breakfast… By the way, who sent these flowers?”
Xu Shaochen finally noticed the fresh bouquet of flowers on the nightstand. It had clearly just been delivered recently.
“Oh, I almost forgot. A friend of yours just dropped them off.” Li Xiaoli recalled.
Xu Shaochen frowned slightly. “A friend? Did he say anything?”
“He said he’s from Yunzhou, with the last name Zhou. He mentioned you would know.” Li Xiaoli replied slowly, not noticing that Xu Shaochen’s expression had darkened to the point of almost dripping with anger.
A murderous intent surged through Xu Shaochen’s heart. Yunzhou, surname Zhou—who else could it be but the Zhou Family? They were using his mother’s safety to threaten him.
Xu Shaochen forcibly suppressed his rage, offering Li Xiaoli a strained smile. “Mom, you rest well. I need to head to School.”
With those words, Xu Shaochen turned and walked out of the hospital room. As soon as he left, his smile faded, replaced by an endless chill.
Zhou Yun had hired hitmen to kill him, so Xu Shaochen had dealt with Zhou Yun accordingly without involving anyone else from the Zhou Family.
But now, the Zhou Family was threatening his mother—a line Xu Shaochen would never allow them to cross.
His family, his woman, his close friends—these were his bottom lines. Touch them, and you will die.
“Long Si, from now on, stay in the Hospital and be responsible for my mom’s safety. I’m counting on you.”
Xu Shaochen spoke to Long Si with a serious tone. This was not an order, but a request.
Long Si straightened his posture and replied firmly, “Boss, rest assured. If anything happens, I’ll end myself on the spot.”
Xu Shaochen patted Long Si’s shoulder and then walked out of the Hospital with Long San towards the waiting Rolls-Royce.
“Screech, screech, screech—”
Suddenly, a Mercedes stopped in front of him.
Two young men in suits stepped out of the car and approached. One of them said, “Mr. Xu, our Young Master wants to meet you.”
At the same time, Long Yi and Long Er approached, glaring fiercely at the two young men.
“I have no idea who your Young Master is. If he wants to see me, tell him to come himself. And by the way, I’m a busy man, so make sure he schedules an appointment.”
Xu Shaochen said coldly, shoving one of the young men aside as he strode towards the Rolls-Royce.
What had just happened at the Hospital left him deeply irritated. He had no patience for someone acting high and mighty.
“Mr. Xu, our Young Master said you’d definitely come because he just delivered a bouquet to your mother.”
One of the young men shouted at Xu Shaochen’s retreating back.
“Snap!”
Xu Shaochen stopped in his tracks, then slowly turned and walked back towards the two young men. “Your Young Master is the most fearless person I’ve ever met.”
“This way, Mr. Xu.” The young man made no further comment, simply bowing respectfully and gesturing for Xu Shaochen to proceed.
Without hesitation, Xu Shaochen got into the back seat of the Mercedes. The two young men took the driver and passenger seats.
The Mercedes led the way, followed closely by Xu Shaochen’s Rolls-Royce and Audi, maintaining a safe distance throughout.
After about 15 minutes, the cars stopped in front of a tea house.
“This way, Mr. Xu.”
One of the young men got out quickly, opened the door for Xu Shaochen, and then led him into the tea house.
Long Yi and the others tried to follow, but they were stopped at the entrance. Xu Shaochen signaled them to stay calm and not cause any trouble.
A moment later, they reached a private room on the second floor. The young man knocked on the door.
“Knock, knock, knock…”
“Young Master, Mr. Xu has arrived.”
“Please come in.”
A steady male voice came from inside the private room.
“This way, Mr. Xu.” The young man opened the door, and once Xu Shaochen had entered, he closed it behind him, then stood guard by the door.
The private room wasn’t big, but it was elegantly furnished. By the window, a young man in a silver suit was meticulously brewing tea.
The young man was none other than Zhou Family’s second Young Master, Zhou Hu.
“Please, have a seat.” Zhou Hu smiled calmly at Xu Shaochen, pouring a cup of tea and sliding it over.
Xu Shaochen slowly picked up the teacup and took a sip before asking, “What is Zhou Yun to you?”
“It might make you laugh, but he’s my good-for-nothing younger brother. Still, no matter how useless he is, he’s a member of the Zhou Family. Now that he’s lying in the Hospital, we must offer some explanation.” Zhou Hu spoke calmly, as if discussing a matter involving a stranger.
Xu Shaochen responded with a dismissive laugh. “Explanation? His crippled limbs are the best ‘explanation’ I can give. You shouldn’t have gone to the Hospital; that’s my bottom line. But you crossed it. Remember this: This is Jiangzhou, not Yunzhou.”
“As far as the Zhou Family is concerned, there’s no difference between Jiangzhou and Yunzhou. The only difference is this: Do not mistake me for that trash, Zhou Yun.” Zhou Hu’s self-confidence was evident; the Zhou Family’s power was his foundation.
Xu Shaochen sneered. “Sorry, but in my eyes, you’re no different from Zhou Yun—both of you are just trash, though one is a bigger piece of trash than the other.”
Zhou Hu smiled, a glint of coldness flashing in his eyes. “Xu Shaochen, you’re arrogant. I’ll be visiting the Hospital again, so prepare a coffin for your mother.”
Xu Shaochen stood up, pressed his palms against the table, and stared at Zhou Hu intently as he spoke, “I once only planned to deal with Zhou Yun. Now, I want to take down the entire Zhou Family, starting with you.”
With that, Xu Shaochen finished his tea and walked out of the private room without looking back.
“Young Master, should we act?” The young man guarding the door quickly entered the room.
Zhou Hu shook his head, his tone calm. “No, first kill his mother and let him feel the pain of losing a loved one. Then we’ll send him on his way. If you refuse to accept kindness, you’re courting death.”
He didn’t know much about Xu Shaochen, as he hadn’t heard of him before. To Zhou Hu, Xu Shaochen seemed like a reckless second-generation rich kid.
Moreover, Zhou Hu didn’t feel the need to learn more about Xu Shaochen. As the second Young Master of the Zhou Family, he didn’t need to waste much effort to crush a mere ‘bug.’
