Seeing Xu Shaochen come out, the three members of Long Yi hurriedly approached him.

“Long San, you follow them by car and find out where they stay tonight.”

Xu Shaochen got into the car with Long Yi and Long Er and headed to Dafeng Factory.

Since Zhou Hu had made it clear he wanted to kill his mother, and him too, Xu Shaochen wasn’t going to hold back.

Xu Shaochen wouldn’t let him die easily. Otherwise, it would be a relief for him.

Half an hour later, they arrived at Dafeng Factory.

Xu Shaochen didn’t inform Lin Youguo and headed straight to Mei Liangxin’s office.

“Why are you here? Surprise inspection? I assure you, I haven’t been slacking off.”

Mei Liangxin, who was reconciling accounts, was startled by Xu Shaochen’s sudden entrance.

“It’s fine. If you slack off, I’ll just dock your pay.” Xu Shaochen smiled casually and then said, “Call over Li Cheng, the Deputy Manager of the Finance Department, Zhou Wei, the Manager of the Quality Inspection Department, Ye Tao, the Deputy Manager of the Production Department, and Liu Fan, the Manager of the Procurement Department.”

Saying this, he paused for a moment and then looked at Long Yi and Long Er, saying, “You two go together. If they don’t come willingly, bring them to me.”

He was concerned that Liu Fan might not have covered up his sudden disappearance this morning perfectly, which could put the other three on alert. So if they didn’t come, physical persuasion would be necessary.

Mei Liangxin’s expression changed as he realized what Xu Shaochen was here for. Without another word, he got up and left the office.

Long Yi and Long Er followed him out.

A few minutes later, the first person leisurely strolled into the office with his hands behind his back.

He was a man in his thirties, slightly balding, with an air of arrogance that screamed ‘I’m the boss around here.’ This was Ye Tao, the Deputy Manager of the Production Department.

“New guy, don’t you see me standing here? Don’t you know you should pour me some water?”

Seeing Xu Shaochen, Ye Tao was first taken aback. Then he looked Xa Shaochen up and down, frowned, and ordered in a bad mood.

When Xu Shaochen first came to Dafeng Factory, Ye Tao wasn’t around, so he didn’t recognize him.

“Li Cheng, Zhou Wei, or Ye Tao?” Xu Shaochen gave him a calm smile.

Judging by his relaxed manner, it was clear that Liu Fan had successfully fooled them.

Ye Tao’s expression changed, and he coldly reprimanded, “How dare you speak my name? Address me as Manager Ye. Don’t you know I could have you fired?”

“Haha, such authority, Manager Ye. One might mistake you for the factory owner.” Xu Shaochen’s smile turned even colder.

Ye Tao snorted disdainfully at these words. Factory owner? Hah! Does the owner earn more than me?

“Kid, didn’t you hear me? I told you to get me some water! Are you deaf?”

Seeing that Xu Shaochen didn’t follow orders, and even dared to mock him, Ye Tao was instantly enraged.

In the factory, he was a well-known figure. Now, a mere employee dared to disrespect him. This was outrageous.

The sound of footsteps echoed as Mei Liangxin entered, bringing along Liu Fan and two unfamiliar middle-aged men, with Long Yi and Long Er trailing behind them.

The two middle-aged men were Li Cheng and Zhou Wei.

“Manager Mei, you’ve come at the perfect time. Look at what kind of worker your department has hired. This guy is extremely rude to his superiors. I suggest we fire him.”

Ye Tao sneered, pointing at Xu Shaochen as he complained to Mei Liangxin, a smug grin curling at the corners of his mouth. If you don’t listen to me, I’ll make sure you lose your job.

He was confident Mei Liangxin would side with him. After all, as an old-timer at the factory, Mei Liangxin, who was still finding his footing, would need support from people like him to survive in Dafeng Factory.

Li Cheng and Zhou Wei’s faces turned pale as they stared at Ye Tao, as if looking at an idiot.

Ye Tao frowned, “Why are you two looking at me like that? What’s going on?”

“Hello, Chairman Xu,” Zhou Wei and Li Cheng greeted Xu Shaochen respectfully, ignoring Ye Tao.

“Ch-Chairman Xu?” Ye Tao was struck as if by lightning, his expression drastically changing. Now, he understood why Zhou Wei and Li Cheng had been giving him such strange looks.

After realizing his mistake, Ye Tao hurriedly and fearfully said, “Chairman Xu, please calm down! I’m sorry! I was blind and didn’t recognize you. Please forgive me!”

No matter how he tried, he couldn’t believe that this young man in his early twenties was actually the new owner of Dafeng Factory.

In an instant, he felt his heart leap into his throat. He couldn’t afford to lose this job—there was too much money to be made here.

“Slap!”

Xu Shaochen raised his hand and slapped Ye Tao across the face, coldly saying, “Go pour me a glass of water.”

“Y-Yes, right away! Right away!” Ye Tao’s face alternated between green and white as it filled with anger and humiliation, but outwardly, he remained respectful.

Just moments ago, he had demanded Xu Shaochen pour him water, but now he was eagerly doing it for him.

Zhou Wei and Li Cheng had already sensed something was wrong. They noticed that after so long, no one else had come into the office.

The people specifically called into the office were the very ones involved in making fake accounts, passing off substandard products, and earning kickbacks.

“Do you know why I called you here?”

Xu Shaochen looked at them and asked.

Liu Fan’s eyes flickered, while Zhou Wei and Li Cheng exchanged glances before shaking their heads, feigning ignorance. “We’re not sure. Did something go wrong with our work? Please correct us, Chairman Xu, and we will definitely improve.”

“Fine. Since you won’t admit it until you see the evidence, Liu Fan, you tell them.” Xu Shaochen nodded, pointing at Liu Fan.

In an instant, the three pairs of eyes locked onto Liu Fan, as sharp as blades.

Sweat began to bead on Liu Fan’s forehead, but since there was no way out, he clenched his teeth and confessed, “Chairman Xu, the four of us colluded with the suppliers, delivered inferior products, faked accounts, and embezzled the factory’s procurement funds…”

“Liu Fan, don’t slander us! You’re falsely accusing us!”

Before Liu Fan could finish, the other three’s faces changed drastically. They reacted vehemently, berating him with righteous indignation.

In truth, they were all panicking inside. They never expected Liu Fan to turn on them.

However, they couldn’t possibly admit to anything. No matter what, they’d deny it. The consequences would be severe otherwise.
