After a while, Liu Rushuang suddenly felt the light dim and looked up, immediately seeing Xu Shaochen.

“Why are you here? You scared me, coming in without a sound.”

Liu Rushuang patted her chest and glared at Xu Shaochen with a hint of annoyance.

Xu Shaochen raised an eyebrow and said with a smile, “Who’s so important that even our Vice Chairman has to personally meet them?”

“The company chairman came all the way from Yunzhou. How could I not personally accompany him?” Liu Rushuang rolled her eyes.

“Yunzhou?” Xu Shaochen frowned. “I’ll go with you later. We’ll take care of lunch while we’re at it.”

Right now, he was very wary of anything related to Yunzhou. Whenever there was any connection to that place, he felt uneasy.

Not to mention, Liu Rushuang was so beautiful. Most local businesses in Jiangzhou knew that Chen Yu belonged to Xu Shaochen, so no one dared to think anything improper about her.

But people from Yunzhou had no idea who Xu Shaochen was. If they were taken by her looks, and with alcohol involved, it could be unsafe for Liu Rushuang to go alone.

“So, later on, who’s going to handle the contract? You or me?” Liu Rushuang asked.

“You take care of it. Just tell them I’m your driver.” Xu Shaochen might be an amateur when it came to business, so he preferred to let Liu Rushuang handle it. He would just sit back and learn.

Liu Rushuang smiled sweetly, then stood up and whispered into Xu Shaochen’s ear, “Doesn’t that mean I’m stealing the spotlight from you, Chairman Xu?”

“No matter how bright your spotlight, at night you’ll still be lying down, letting me whip you. After all, no matter how powerful you are, you still have to bow to me.” Xu Shaochen flashed a wicked smile. His meaning was clear: nothing could place her above him.

Liu Rushuang’s face turned bright red as she spat back, “Hmph! Next time, I’ll be on top!”

Seeing Xu Shaochen acting so smug after taking advantage of her, Liu Rushuang was filled with frustration. “Get lost! Go to hell!”

After a bit of teasing, they grabbed the contract and left, heading to the Starshine Hotel where the meeting was scheduled.

Long Yi drove, Long Er sat in the front passenger seat, while Xu Shaochen and Liu Rushuang sat in the back.

“The person we’re meeting is named Gu An. He originally ran a chain of restaurants and recently started transitioning into the internet business. We’re here to discuss acquiring more than fifty of his restaurants.”

In the car, Liu Rushuang gave Xu Shaochen a brief introduction of the person they were about to negotiate with.

Xu Shaochen nodded from time to time. Chen Yu’s dining division was already on the right track, having acquired several restaurants, renovated them, and rebranded them. The business was thriving.

After over twenty minutes, they arrived at their destination.

Xu Shaochen and Liu Rushuang walked into the hotel, with Long Yi and Long Er following behind.

They took the elevator to the private room they had booked.

Outside the room door stood two young, well-dressed bodyguards.

“Are you Vice Chairman Liu? Our boss told us that as soon as you arrive, you should go right in.”

One of the bodyguards asked as he saw Liu Rushuang and Xu Shaochen approaching. He then politely opened the door for them and bowed.

Xu Shaochen and Liu Rushuang entered, while Long Yi and Long Er waited outside.

Inside, they found a young man in his early 30s, dressed in a black suit, flipping through the menu. This was Gu An.

The moment Gu An saw Liu Rushuang, his eyes lit up and he quickly stood up to greet her. “Vice Chairman Liu, I didn’t expect to be so impressed by your presence upon first meeting you! Please, have a seat. By the way, this gentleman is…?”

“He’s my driver,” Liu Rushuang introduced Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen greeted him with a smile, “Hello, Mr. Gu.”

“Oh, hello hello. You’re quite the promising young man.” Gu An casually complimented Xu Shaochen twice but clearly focused all his attention on Liu Rushuang.

The three of them sat down. Gu An had already ordered the dishes in advance. He looked at Liu Rushuang and said, “Vice Chairman Liu, the owner of this hotel is a good friend of mine. I’m sure you’ll like the food here.”

“Is that so? You’ve gone to a lot of trouble. As the host, I should be the one treating you.” Liu Rushuang smiled apologetically.

Gu An waved his hand grandly. “Vice Chairman Liu, you’re being too polite. It’s just a meal! Today, I treat you. You can treat me next time!”

Soon, the servers started bringing up an array of delicious and beautifully presented dishes.

Gu An’s face immediately darkened. Fueled by the alcohol, he crudely pointed at Xu Shaochen’s nose and cursed, “Who the hell do you think you are? Just a lowly driver, yet you don’t know your place! Is this your place to speak? Get out and wait for me outside!”

“Mr. Gu, that statement was a bit much.” Xu Shaochen narrowed his eyes, staring at Gu An as he spoke each word slowly.
