Chapter Index

“Notify all supervisors and higher that there’s a meeting in the conference room.”

Xu Shaochen tossed the phone to Mr. Liu, looking at him coldly.

Although the General Manager’s position was below that of the Chairman, it was still quite something to see the General Manager acting so meekly under the Chairman’s pressure.

In other words, this was a typical useless person.

Had it been anyone else, they would’ve taken advantage of coming to the company and exploited Zhao Cheng’an’s underestimation to push him out of the company and replace him.

But Mr. Liu, on the other hand, chose not to take advantage of such a great opportunity and instead obediently followed Zhao Cheng’an’s orders. If that’s not useless, what is? But then again, if Mr. Liu weren’t so useless, Zhao Cheng’an wouldn’t have dared not to show up today either.

    “Yes, yes.”

Mr. Liu nodded repeatedly, feeling a deep sense of panic under Xu Shaochen’s icy gaze.

“Where’s the conference room!” Xu Shaochen asked irritably, staring at Mr. Liu’s meek demeanor, which only fueled his unexplainable anger.

How did such an indecisive and incompetent person become the General Manager?

Mr. Liu finally snapped out of it and quickly said, “This way, Young Master Xu.”

“No need. Just tell me the location. I’ll go myself. You go inform them about the meeting.” Xu Shaochen said expressionlessly, already frustrated by the sight of this useless person.

Mr. Liu hesitated, then told Xu Shaochen the location of the conference room before heading off to notify the staff.

He knew his career as the General Manager was likely coming to an end.

The sudden meeting announcement left all the supervisors and managers puzzled, unsure of what had happened.

“What’s going on? Why the sudden meeting? And Liu’s expression didn’t look good.”

“Heh, does his face ever look good? But something’s odd about this meeting. The Chairman isn’t here. Where does he get the gall to organize a meeting?”

    “I don’t know. We’re just small fry here. Let’s just follow orders…”

It was clear that Mr. Liu’s incompetence was well-known within the company. Yongsheng Group had always been Zhao Cheng’an’s personal domain.

    ………

As everyone entered the conference room, the first thing they saw was Xu Shaochen sitting expressionless at the head of the table.

They all paused, exchanging confused glances before quietly finding their seats.

They didn’t know who this young man was.

But considering Mr. Liu’s earlier attitude toward Xu Shaochen, and the fact that Xu Shaochen was sitting at the head with Long Yi and Long Er standing behind him, they knew he was definitely not an ordinary person.

And since he wasn’t ordinary, he was someone they couldn’t afford to offend, so staying silent was the safest bet.

However, unease settled in the hearts of everyone present.

After all, Xu Shaochen’s expressionless face clearly showed he was angry. Everyone was afraid that his anger might target them.

    “Is everyone here?”

After a long silence, Xu Shaochen glanced around and asked Mr. Liu calmly.

“Everyone is here except Chairman Zhao,” Mr. Liu replied respectfully.

Xu Shaochen nodded, then redirected his gaze to the group. “You might not know who I am, so I’ll introduce myself: Yongsheng Group is a subsidiary of the Xu Corporation in Yunzhou. My name is Xu Shaochen, and I’m the heir of the Xu Corporation.”

Boom! The entire conference room exploded in an instant. Everyone’s eyes widened in disbelief, staring at Xu Shaochen.

As part of the management of Yongsheng Group, they were well aware that Yongsheng Group was a subsidiary of the Xu Corporation.

Yongsheng Group was already a giant entity to them, and the Xu Corporation was a well-known business empire worldwide.

And this young man before them was actually the heir to the Xu Corporation, the future owner of the entire conglomerate. How could they not be shocked?

Of course, despite the shock, anxiety quickly set in.

It seemed that the big boss was dissatisfied with Yongsheng Group’s current state, making it impossible for the staff to feel at ease.

After all, just one word from Xu Shaochen could decide their fate.

“This is my first visit to Yongsheng Group. First of all, I’d like to acknowledge the efforts of everyone here. Yongsheng Group’s growth has been remarkable, and it stands as the top company in Yunzhou. This success is due to your hard work.”

Xu Shaochen started off by praising everyone, but nobody felt relieved because they were all waiting for the inevitable “but.”

“However!” Xu Shaochen suddenly raised his voice.

    Here it comes.

Everyone snapped to attention, their gazes fixed on Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen’s eyes swept coldly over the group before finally locking onto Mr. Liu. “Some people have let me down, and I can’t figure out how they even made it to their current position!” he said bluntly.

“Y-Young Master Xu, I-I…” Mr. Liu stood up trembling, cold sweat dripping down as he struggled to plead but couldn’t form a complete sentence.

“Don’t say I fired you. I hope you know what to do,” Xu Shaochen said indifferently.

“Yes, Young Master Xu,” Mr. Liu nodded dejectedly. He knew he would have to prepare his resignation letter.

Everyone in the room felt a heavy pressure in their chests. Under Xu Shaochen’s overwhelming presence, they all felt suffocated, terrified to even move.

    Bang!

At that moment, the door to the conference room was pushed open.

Everyone instinctively looked toward the entrance.

“Sorry! Really sorry, Young Master Xu. I had an urgent matter, so I’m late.”

Zhao Cheng’an walked in, offering a sheepish smile at Xu Shaochen before heading for the chair to his left.

After the initial panic from receiving Mr. Liu’s call, he had now regained his composure, appearing calm and collected.

    Smack!

Xu Shaochen suddenly grabbed the folder in front of Mr. Liu and threw it directly at Zhao Cheng’an’s face.

    “Ah!”

Caught off guard, Zhao Cheng’an cried out in pain and instinctively covered his nose.

“Didn’t you even go to elementary school? Don’t you know how to knock first? Get out of here right now!”

Xu Shaochen shouted angrily, pointing at the door, his face expressionless.

    “Hiss—”

Everyone sucked in a breath of cold air and then quickly lowered their heads. None of them dared to look directly at Xu Shaochen.

Zhao Cheng’an’s dominance in the company was well-known. Although Yongsheng Group was a subsidiary of the Xu Corporation, it often felt more like Zhao Cheng’an’s personal company.

No one had expected that Xu Shaochen would be even more domineering than Zhao Cheng’an, publicly humiliating him in front of everyone without the slightest consideration for his dignity.

Everyone had a sense that the company would undergo major personnel changes after today.

While some were anxious, others were secretly excited. After all, within the company, each position was tightly contested. Only by having some people leave could others have the chance to move up.
