Chapter 295: Suddenly Had A Good Idea
by xennovel“Bang!”
Long Er smashed his gun into Brother Li’s head, then dragged him over and started beating and kicking him.
“Ah! Stop hitting me! If you dare hit me, you’re dead! Ah!”
Brother Li clutched his head, lying on the ground, crying out in pain. Even in his torment, he didn’t forget to hurl threats.
After a few minutes, Long Er stopped beating at Xu Shaochen’s signal.
Xu Shaochen stood up and walked over to Brother Li. Looking down on him, he curled his lips into a faint sneer: “I call you Brother Li out of politeness. Without that, you’re nothing but trash to me. Ignorant fool.”
Brother Li glared at Xu Shaochen, his face bruised and bloodied, eyes filled with resentment and anger.
He had come to Jiangzhou to open up new territory. The previous group had been driven out by local forces, but he had returned with determination, having sworn a military pledge.
Just as he was about to take down Dean Fu, Xu Shaochen appeared out of nowhere and ruined everything. How could he not be furious? How could he not hate?
“Tell me, who’s the big shot behind you guys?”
Xu Shaochen squatted down and asked Brother Li with a calm expression.
It was obvious this group was from out of town. The locals had their own channels and wouldn’t resort to such crude methods to move goods.
Brother Li gritted his teeth and stayed silent.
“It’s fine if you don’t want to speak. Call the police. Throw him in jail for a few years. Wait, how long was the sentence for private trials again? Forget it. I’ll make sure they give you a few extra years. Let the people in prison treat you well.”
Xu Shaochen smiled slightly. Dealing with small fry like this didn’t require much brainpower. Just crush them with absolute power.
“I’ll talk! Our boss is Young Master Chen, Chen Dongqiu from Yunzhou! Let us go and we can pretend this never happened. Otherwise, Young Master Chen won’t let you off!”
The woman in the red short skirt showed a trace of fear. Gritting her teeth, she spoke to Xu Shaochen.
She would rather die than go to jail again, having just been released not long ago. She never wanted to return to that hell. Losing her freedom was the greatest torture on earth.
So, she had no choice but to mention Chen Dongqiu, hoping Xu Shaochen would hesitate.
“Chen Dongqiu?!”
Xu Shaochen was taken aback. He never expected Chen Dongqiu to be involved in this. Seems like his operations were pretty wild.
“That’s right, Young Master Chen! Now, are you scared?”
Seeing Xu Shaochen’s shocked expression, Brother Li thought Xu Shaochen was frightened, and a wave of satisfaction washed over him.
“Call him.” Xu Shaochen said, looking at Brother Li.
Brother Li glanced at Xu Shaochen, then took out his phone and dialed Chen Dongqiu’s number.
“Hello.”
After a while, the phone connected, and a deep male voice came through.
“Boss, something’s gone wrong…”
Brother Li hadn’t even finished speaking when Xu Shaochen snatched the phone from his hand: “Chen Dongqiu, impressive. I didn’t know you had a side job. Who would’ve thought Young Master Chen turned into a smuggler.”
The three people, including Brother Li, had a bad feeling upon seeing this. It seemed Xu Shaochen wasn’t afraid of Chen Dongqiu at all. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have dared to call him by name.
“Xu… Young Master Xu.”
Chen Dongqiu would never forget this voice. Cold sweat instantly drenched his entire body. Damn it, how did he find out?
“You’re wondering how I found out, right? You should ask your loyal men who tried to mess with my friend.”
“What? These fools! Unbelievable! Don’t worry, Young Master Xu. Hand them the phone. I’ll make sure to give you a proper explanation.”
Chen Dongqiu spoke with fear in his heart, already mentally sentencing Brother Li and the others to expulsion.
How dare they mention his name? That was practically betrayal. Now, Xu Shaochen had dirt on him.
“Your master wants to talk to you.”
Xu Shaochen tossed the phone in front of Brother Li.
“B-Boss…” Brother Li’s voice trembled as he spoke.
“Listen, find a way to appease Young Master Xu immediately. If you don’t fix this, I’ll personally deal with you!”
Chen Dongqiu yelled angrily and then hung up.
“Beep—beep—”
Hearing the busy tone on the phone, Brother Li was stunned for a moment but soon realized the gravity of the situation.
Yet, how was he supposed to fix this?
“Young Master Xu, I didn’t recognize him as Dean Fu’s friend. Please, spare us.”
With no other option, Brother Li grabbed Xu Shaochen’s leg and started pleading.
“Alright, I’m willing to let you go, but you have to do something for me.”
Xu Shaochen kicked him aside and suddenly had a good idea.
“Tell me, Young Master Xu. I’ll go through fire and water if you command it.”
Upon hearing these words, Brother Li felt a glimmer of hope, immediately becoming excited.
“Framing people, you’re good at that, right? You should be very skilled at these dirty tricks.”
Xu Shaochen looked at Brother Li and said. Originally, he planned to use Mei Liangxin to lure Liao Jie and his crew into a trap and send them to prison.
But now that he had free labor, Xu Shaochen decided to make full use of them.
“Got it, Young Master Xu. Just name the person who’s offended you. I have a hundred ways to send them to prison.”
Brother Li spoke with confidence. As a smuggler, he knew the law even better than the police. Coupled with money and connections, framing someone was a piece of cake for him.
“Go to the major hospitals in Jiangzhou and find a critically ill patient named Mei Liangyu. There’s a guy named Liao Jie by his side. Get this guy and everyone around him locked up. Then, get out of Jiangzhou.”
“Understood, Young Master Xu. Rest assured, I’ll take care of it.”
Brother Li pounded his chest to guarantee it. After all, if he didn’t get it right, not only would Xu Shaochen not let him off, but Chen Dongqiu would be the first to deal with him.
Moreover, he never wanted to return to Jiangzhou after this, as the place had given him nothing but terrible experiences.
“Alright, get lost.”
Xu Shaochen casually waved his hand, kicking the three of them out of the private room.
“Dean Fu, now you can rest easy.”
Xu Shaochen looked at Dean Fu and said with a smile. He wondered what expression Fu Hua would have once he found out about this.
“Mr. Xu, I’m so grateful to you this time. Let me offer you a toast.”
Dean Fu raised his wine glass and looked at Xu Shaochen, sincerely expressing his thanks.
Years of reputation nearly ruined in an instant. At least he learned a hard lesson. A man must control certain urges properly.
After casually eating a little with Dean Fu, Xu Shaochen took his leave. After all, there was a generation gap between them, and they didn’t have much to talk about.
