Chapter Index

“When are you planning to go to Songshan?”

In the car, Xu Shaochen and Mei Liangxin were sitting in the back seat.

“What do you think?” Mei Liangxin asked.

Xu Shaochen shrugged, “What does it have to do with me? Did I say I was going with you?”

“Big Brother, you can’t just leave me to die! If I go back alone, I’m dead for sure.” Mei Liangxin clung to Xu Shaochen’s arm, looking at him pitifully.

    “Scram!”

Xu Shaochen roughly pushed him away. “So damn disgusting, acting all gay.”

“My sister is very beautiful.” Mei Liangxin thought for a moment before saying.

Xu Shaochen looked at him, confused. “So what? What does that have to do with me?”

“Nothing now, but if you go with me to Songshan and stop that old fool from marrying her off, maybe there will be something between the two of you.”

Mei Liangxin planned to use his sister to entice Xu Shaochen, pulling him to Songshan to stop the old man from marrying off Xiaoying. It was a perfect plan.

This move was called ‘Driving Away the Wolf to Devour the Tiger’.

Unfortunately, what Mei Liangxin didn’t know is there’s another idiom called ‘Inviting a Wolf Into the House’.

“Haha, how beautiful?” Xu Shaochen remained calm. What kind of beauties hasn’t this brother seen? Could she be more beautiful than the ones I know?

Mei Liangxin handed his phone to Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen took it casually but then unconsciously sat up straight. A photo of a woman was displayed on the phone.

The woman looked about the same age as Mei Liangxin, with neat short hair, black-rimmed glasses, and wearing a tailored cream-colored women’s suit. Her tall, curvy figure emitted a sense of heroic spirit.

Without a doubt, she was a woman of exceptional elegance.

“Are you trying to fool me with a random internet picture?” Xu Shaochen asked suspiciously, eyeing Mei Liangxin.

No matter how he looked at it, these two didn’t seem like siblings. Their looks were way too different.

    Hiss—

Suddenly, a possibility crossed Xu Shaochen’s mind. Could it be that Mei Liangxin is actually the son of Old Wang next door? Maybe that’s why his dad is so harsh on him?

“An internet picture? You’re joking. Wait till you see her in person; she’s ten times more beautiful.” Mei Liangxin spoke proudly, as if her beauty was his own.

Xu Shaochen handed the phone back and said, “So, you’re really planning to sneak back?”

“What else can I do? You think I’m going back in glory or something?” Mei Liangxin rolled his eyes. He knew his limitations.

Xu Shaochen shook his head and wrapped an arm around Mei Liangxin’s neck. “I’ll help you return in glory, but you’ll have to introduce your sister to me.”

“What do you take me for? Trading my sister for wealth?” Mei Liangxin’s face changed as he pushed Xu Shaochen away.

Seeing this, Xu Shaochen quickly explained: “That’s not what I meant. I was saying…”

    “Deal.” Mei Liangxin blurted out.

“Huh?” Xu Shaochen was stunned for a long moment, unable to react.

“I said, deal.” Mei Liangxin repeated. “Introducing her to you isn’t a problem. The question is whether you can win her over.”

Based on what Mei Liangxin knew about his little sister, she had always been indifferent to men, especially womanizers like Xu Shaochen.

So Mei Liangxin felt this was a win-win situation. Even if he introduced her to Xu Shaochen, Xu Shaochen wouldn’t be able to win her over. It was a sweet deal for him.

Although Mei Liangxin agreed too quickly, making Xu Shaochen feel something was off, he couldn’t figure out what was wrong at that moment.

So he decided to push it to the back of his mind and explained his plan to Mei Liangxin: “Here’s the deal: First, we sneak into Songshan without going to the Mei Family, then… then… it’ll work, right?”

“You’re awesome, Brother Chen!” Mei Liangxin was thrilled after hearing the plan, immediately hugging Xu Shaochen.

He couldn’t wait to see the looks on the faces of those who once looked down on him.

    “Scram.”

Once again, Xu Shaochen pushed him away. He then said, “First, give me your sister’s WeChat. I need to confirm she’s really your sister.”

“No problem.” Mei Liangxin sent his sister’s WeChat to Xu Shaochen without hesitation.

“Stop the car.” Xu Shaochen told Long Er, who was driving.

Mei Liangxin was puzzled. “Why stop the car?”

“You can get out now,” Xu Shaochen said.

If it weren’t for him showing his sister’s photo, he would have been thrown out of the car earlier.

    Mei Liangxin: “…”

Is this for real? Use and discard. What a ruthless move.

Mei Liangxin mentally cursed Xu Shaochen’s ancestors up to eighteen generations as he got out of the car, eyes full of resentment.

“If you actually manage to date my sister, I, Mei Liangxin, will eat shit!”

Mei Liangxin shouted at the black Audi speeding away.

    “Hey, buddy, need a ride?”

A black Mercedes stopped beside Mei Liangxin. The window rolled down, revealing a bald man.

“Have you been drinking?” Mei Liangxin asked, frowning at the smell of alcohol. This guy was clearly drunk. Getting into his car was like betting one’s life on the fare.

“Hic~” The bald man hiccuped and waved his hand. “Don’t worry, I’m not scared.”

“I’m scared.” Mei Liangxin said, twitching the corner of his mouth.

“You can drive if you want. A friend just called and said there’s a DUI checkpoint up ahead. Help me drive past it, and I won’t charge you.” The bald man said.

Mei Liangxin was stunned. Damn, there’s such a trick? This is some next-level stuff.

Mei Liangxin got into the driver’s seat, while the bald man sat in the passenger seat. The black Mercedes started up again.

Sure enough, after going about five minutes, they encountered a traffic police checkpoint. But since Mei Liangxin was the one driving, they easily avoided the inspection.

“Stop, stop, stop. Pull over. We’ll switch back.”

Just after passing the checkpoint, the bald man asked Mei Liangxin to pull over.

“It’s better if I keep driving. It’s safer. You’re drunk, and it could be dangerous if you lose focus.” Mei Liangxin didn’t dare to risk his life.

The bald man rolled his eyes. “Do you think I would have come up with such a brilliant scheme to dodge the checkpoint if I wasn’t in control of my senses?”

Mei Liangxin was left speechless. That actually made some sense.

But it was ultimately the bald man’s car, and Mei Liangxin was just hitching a ride. So, as requested, he got out.

    “Vroom vroom vroom…”

As soon as he was out of the car, the bald man floored the gas pedal and took off.

“Hey, wait! I haven’t gotten in yet!” Mei Liangxin yelled, sprinting after the car.

“Hahaha! Kid, today I’m teaching you a lesson about society. Wise up a little! Hahaha…”

The bald man shouted smugly at Mei Liangxin, then sped off into the distance.
